Hey guys, I somehow found this site looking for stuff for a necromunda campaign I'm playing in and was really impressed by the imagination and some of the interesting minis/terrain here.

I only have experience with GW gaming and minis but after a bit more lurking may try and create my own PA world if I can get my Necro buds on board...

Hello Scum!

Welcome to the Wasteland. You'll find a few Necro players on this forum, in fact, several of 'em started this site. Enjoy yourself, but keep aware that tomorrow is "Sacrifice Thursday", and don't bad mouth St. Milla!

Cheers dudes. I'm actually quite interested in seeing how some of other sets of rules compare to necro, which I think is a great system and quite adaptable. Are there links to any rule sets usable for this sorta thing?

Hey man, welcome aboard.

If you can get hold of the Ash Wastes mods for Necromunda you can't go far wrong using Necro as a base for your games.

Welcome aboard, bud!

Don't worry about coming straight from the 'GW Hobby'; Recently got out of it, myself.
But, as far as Necromunda goes, Ross is the man to talk to. And he already spoke. :D

Welcome :)
Don't worry about us, we're a soft lot. We don't bite, much ;)

Out of it? I don't think anyone ever gets truly out of it... Even Ross still has his foot in the door...

Let me re-phrase: Out of 40K and the Grand Marketing Scheme.
I'll most likely buy the occasional figure, but never from the company directly.

Pros: Cheaper, better service.

Cons: ...*Shrug*

The specialist games still hold some interest, but those aren't supported anymore, so I don't quite consider them part of the 'Games Workshop Hobby'. I could go without ever playing another game of 40K, and be quite happy.

Hey mate. New here myself, and yes you're in esteemed company, some very creative people here.

As far as rule sets go check out the rules discussion as JAR suggested. I'd also like to put in a plug for War Engine. I found this rule set on Ravensfeasts' web blog. I'm not using it my self being the resident cyborg and cyberpunk fan, but i'm slowly catching the fever...i can't help it, just too cool. :jam:

Warengine is very customisable and you may recognise some of the conventions from other games. Check out the rules here; http://warengine.darktortoise.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

Other good rules for that sort of thing are combat zone & kill zone (Which is free; 2 sets of rules available - the one from Gisby's site is the original, and the kill zone yahoo group has one which has been partially re-written by the group)
You could also try Chain reaction 3
Sorry for the lack of linkies - in the lab on a different computer to usual.....

I'll check out the rules section, thanks.

I still occasionally buy stuff from GW since it is the only mini company I have known really...But I stopped playing their ''main games'' (i.e, the money makers) quite a while ago. Now only play the skirmish games.

Hi matey! Welcome to the Wasteland.

Ross already suggested the Ash Waste mod for Necro which takes you out of the Hives and pretty much into our world. I haven't tried it yet but I've read it and it's gooood. For my PA stuff I'm pretty much just going to use my GW stuff... it's what fits and I don't have to spend more money :D

Looking forward to seeing your contributions, even if they're straight Necro figures.

Do you know of anywhere to find the ash wastes mod online?
I think it used to be on the old specialist games part of GW site but it isn't in the new resources. :(

I'll get my ratskin gang (the OOP old school ones) posted up at some point soon. I think a lot of them would fit in perfectly to an PA world.

When I get some cash I'll see about buying a bunch of new minis to get started with.

I ripped mine from the Specialist site when it was first available, it was full of grammar and spelling errors though (not a problem to your average illiterate gamer or American I guess :P ), I haven't been to that site since I built my Cawdor though.

*Ahem* :(|thumbdown:
(Yeah, I know you're joking. I can still pretend to be bothered by it, just to bug you. :(|lol: )

Last I checked, the Spec. Game site was down.. or replaced with something less useful. That was about four months ago, at least, so who knows.
