Bresak woke to the familiar sound of fighting close by. Shaking himself as he got to his feet in the stands overlooking the barracks courtyard he muttered to himself... "Must be getting old... Can't stay awake for a measly few hours." Looking over the melee swirling in the courtyard below, he quickly made up his mind as to a course of action. Runes flared over his armour, blazing white and green as he stepped off the edge of the stands and dropped the 20 feet to the deck. White, for manipulation of air. Green, for conjuration. As the dust cleared from his landing Bresak rose from crouching. At his side, standing shoulder tall were two large wolves. With a grin Bresak drew his axes and charged for the nearest Verc, the wolves a hair's breadth in front. OOC: Right... Sorry I missed the reboot. Who's with me on keeping this alive? |

"now that is a nice feat of magic you have their" said grum as he quickly got to his feet "like to see more of that later on after this recruitment" as he flanked a verc in between him and the wolves |

Ironclaw blinks in suprise as Bresak suddenly leaps into the pit, and as he circles baack around he notices that the figure is suddenly accompanied by two large wolves. That was one of the problems with magic users - take your eyes off them for two seconds and they were liable to change everything! Still - atleast he was on their side.... Ironclaw kill-dives down onto 1 of the 2 remainging vercs; slaming it into the ground andsnapping its snipe with the momentum of his fall. Extricating himself from the sticky, mangeld mwess around his claws; he turns towards the final Verc... OOC: Well done resurecting this one! |

In a vicious frenzy of fur and teeth, the final Verc swiftly fell in a shower of gore. Bresak shook the gore from his axes and slipped them back into his belt as the wolves came to rest by his side. "Everyone still standing?" |

Ironclaw paces over "I'm still here - but Skark knows about the others" He gestures with his beak to the bruised and beaten bodies littering the courtyard. "It looks like we might be struggling to make up that band of 10..." OOC: So - who else feels like bringng this one back? If you want out, thats fne - we'll just pretend that you didn't survive the combat! |

OOC: I'll come back, let me remember where I was.....ah yes; Before Alkimos could return to the fight, the Runesmith had finished them off. Driving his blade into the nearest Verc, he sighed. If it wasn't for that Gryphon, he may not have survived the round. Cursing himself for lack of perception, he hoped all the months travelling had not made him weak. "I am too still alive. However, there seem to be many" Gesturing to a warrior slumped at his feet, a large gash through his midriff, "That did not. Is there another challenge, or have we passed the test?" he asked, to no one in particular. |

stabbing a Verc in the skull just to be sure, Beredon turned to see the newest contestant standing with two radiant white wolves elegantly sitting by his side. Gryphon, Men, nice to see we all survived. he looked at each contestant with a gleaming smile much as is the custom of the half dwarves ' 'cheery in the darkest times merry in the hardest and drunken in the rest' was there reputation and beredon kept to it. "ANYONE LOW ON ENERGY? NO OK THEN" came the voice of the small gnome like man who led them in, from what appeared to be some kind of magically enhanced tannoy. "STAGE TWOOOOOO" he screamed ecstatically as the decking dissipated beneath the fighters and they began a hasty decent below.............. ooc: tbh the hardest bit when resurrecting this story is learning the back story again. |

Ironclaw squaked loudly as the yard flooring started to give way beneath him. Beating his wings, he hastily leaps back into the air - keeping his eyes on the vanishing ground.... As a rule of claw, he didn't like being underground, and definately not dropping into dark depths unprepared. At best he could break his composure, at worst a wing. An a gryphon with a broken wing is a most fullorn creature OOC: I found this pic, which shows the sort of size of ironclaw compared to an armoured man...

Bresak snarled as he felt the icy water envelop around him, his armour quickly dragging him down from the surface. Fighting for concentration, runes flickered over his pauldrons until finally catching and flaring brightly. The water surrounding him froze rapidly, pushing him and the wolves to the surface. The sound of the water freezing rapidly filled the cavern with ominous cracks. Bresak gasped for air while struggling to raise to his feet while the two wolves flanked him, growling fiercely... The darkness was oppressive, smothering from all sides. |

Seeing the flash of rune magic below, Ironclaw gently dives into the depths. He makes out the gleam of water just in time to beat his wings manicaly, aborting the dive and just missing the icey murk. Hovering (or just about) he sees Bresak on his patch of ice and flaps over to join him... Settling himself down on the expanding iceberg, he calls out to the dwarf "Nicely done! Whilst anything is better than cold water, perhaps something a bit warmer to stand on would be nice next time?" |

Bresak snarled, heaving himself to his feet. "Shut it you overgrown roast dinner." Cringing as he straightened himself to full height, he began to survey what he could see of the cavern... He quickly concluded that that wasn't much, the darkness seemed to be closing in. Despite the oppressive darkness, he managed a chuckle before turning back to the Griffin. "I can always melt it again if that would suit you my feathery companion?" |

"Ulp! No, no, ice is fine with me...!" The thought of suddenly dropping into god knows how deep a pool of cold, murky water, in the dark and without any possibility of getting airborn was more than enough to curtail the Gryphon's sacrasm "I wonder where all the others are? Its almost impossible to see anything in this gloom" |

"I wouldn't be surprised if they got lost on the way down. How about some light then?" Bresak cringed as he struggled to bring his concentration back under control, that fall had really taken it out of him... After a moment the air began to grow warm and a half dozen small orbs of flame hovered mid air. With a gesture the orbs grew brighter and moved out into the cavern, pushing back the darkness... Bresak cursed and unslung his axes... "Can we call half time?" |

The flames light a very unwelcome sight: A full grown Sea Krak was rising out of the water at the far end of the cavern. The monsters visage looked even more hideous than usual in the flickering mage light. Ironclaw quickly glances around the cavern, working out if he would have enough space to fly. Probably, if he didn't try anything too clever and that lights didn't go... |

Grum picked him self up from the ground and looked around. He was in dark cavern he could see in the middle of it from natural sunlight the dwarf and the gryphon. then the dwarf moved his hands and six small flicks of light emerged and went in all directions. one of them lit up a Sea Krak emerging from the water. as grum went to help he heard a splish and he found he was not the only one on the beach. about six small and lanky creatures were getting into the water. they had two upper finned legs but no back ones and a nasty looking spiked tail. and ontop of all of that they were heading to the unprepared dwarf and gryphon. |

Falling through the Air, Alkimos tried to make out what was below. When the floor began to open beneath them, he had quickly grabbed his kantesh and made fro the nearest wall. Only just making it, he dug one of his throwing stars into the earth wall of the arena, and held on as best as he could. Unfortunately, seeing his attempt, the archers that had kept the gryphon at bay during the first round began to shoot at him. Rather than be peppered full of holes, Alkimos decided to take the plunge. Now he could see lights appearing below, possibly another trick by the Runesmith. Landing with a thud upon the ice, Alkimos rolled and sprang into a battle ready posistion. Right in front of the maw of a Sea Krak. "Sahamlat." |

As the sea Krak lunged forwards, Ironclaw lept into the air, beating his wings rapidly to gain height. Startled, the sea krak paused in its lunge. Suddenly, a dark figure in a cloak drops past Ironclaw's beak and hits the ice with a thud. Seeing the Azab roll to his feet, the sea krak lunges forward again. Thinking quickly, Ironclaw swoops, grips Alkimos by the shoulders and hauls them both into the air, right over the head of the lunging krak. Rapidly swerving to avoid flying into the end wall, Ironclaw flaps for height. As an arrow swips past a wing tip, he's suddenly very aware of how similar a gryphon in a sink hole is to a fish in a barrel..... "Now what?!" he calls to Alkimos |

"If he wanted us to clean out his basement, why didn't he just say so?" Bresak knelt, grasping hold of his axes and began to chant in Dwarven. The chanting seemed to reverberate around the cabin, filling the air with power. A dim red light began to grow from The bracers of Bresak's armour. As the air became charged with energy, Bresak seemed to finally wrest control of the elemental energies. With a savage snarl he embedded his axes in the ice, releasing two long streams of flame shooting towards the Krak. Bresak slumped forward, panting with exertion. |
