Makes for great chain-link
Actually there is a material used in forming the substructure to a sculpture that is wire mesh and is superior in appearance for chain link than Plastic canvas could ever be. It is available at Michael's. The down side is the price of the mesh is no where as superior as Plastic Canvas.

That being my main consideration.
For my purposes (And wallet size), the plastic mesh is -very- adequate. Plus, as an added bonus, I'm much less likely to rip my hands apart with a clumsy grad, or ruin a perfectly placed setting with a bit snagging on a sleeve.

Considering that I'm a cheap-arsed clutz, grannie's grating is my grating of choice! :D

Time for a painting up date. With Uni, work and getting sick there hasn't been as much painting as i'd like. Still plenty of Punks to do, a couple of different zombie types and a board or 2 load of terrain. :frustry: Hopefully i can speed things up.

This guy is called Johnny Mayhem. A former sprawl gang member finding greener pastures working corporate black ops. His cyberarm dishes out unsubtle damage when he activates illegal modifications in it that double his strength. Typical low grade cybereyes installed intended to help with the tough guy look. The only sublte about Johnny are the photo-electric cells mapped into his skin that provide a form of optical camoflage. (Not sure what to think about the arse-less chaps though.) :spank:
Johnny is from Reaper Chronscope. The Warengine rules have really helped me to flesh out how i want the game to play, from playing on a smaller surface, to the effects of cybernetics. It all works fine...as long as i take some liberties with the rules. Johnny uses Fervour of the Righteous with Slow reload as Wired Reflexes, Brute Strenth with slow Reload as a cyberarm attack, and Stealth as optical camoflage. Working in an experience system wasn't easy but it got hammered out.

The first few piccies are the latest russkies i've painted, and the last being the group shot. Thats all for the russkies, more than enough cannon fodder for the players to bust up. I really want to paint the Eureka germans next, but i need to their zombies and some of Copplestones first to get the game rolling. Well, the bases have been changed a little bit, along with the helmets. Not sure if there is too much white on them but i'm going with this for now.

Oook oook pics!!

Johnny looks the biz, at least he's wearing pants under those chaps..... it could be worse ;)

The new suits look great!! I quite like the smattering of cream/white on the bases, most science facilities that come to mind are all stark white, nice and sterile.

So as a re-cap, you've got the 14 NBC fodder troops, Johnny, the Hawaiian shirt bot, what else have you amassed for this game and what else is in the works?

Do you have any plans for some Gundam style big arsed bots and the like, or some Resident Evil style giant mutant monster freaks?

Oooh cyberpunk.

Used to love playing that, i like shadowrun too.. but the magic and fantasy races never quite settled for me.

background was ace though.

Friday Night firefight (cyberpunk) said most of their combat happened at under 20 feet or was it yards... great for close combat street fighting.

I always fancied 15mm cyberpunk with AV9 etc... the hardboiled surcebook (?) with the hover panzers for smuggling.

Still more punks to come Ross. A genetic modifed ex-marine, Candy a syringe toting medic, a dwarf rigger with a minigun, another super-slick femme, a rigger girl in overalls and a slick sort fella waving two machinepistols about. of There is still a news team to do for the first smattering of games with the zombies and NBC boys on Gentech fame, a scientist to liberate from the same company. I have some other funky models to create some interesting encounters. There's a huge rampaging cyber-dude, some predator aliens to drop in on them at some point. A government sponsered SWAT team. Some small security vehicles, a couple of bikes and a car. There is a big bot too; a kind of armoured suit seen in Appleseed and the Ghost in the Shell series. I decided to get some drones from the Infinity range for the riggers to play around with.

Panzer runs are a great source for encounters Bungle. There are so many ideas to draw from in the cyberpunk genre. Representing electronic warfare in the rules is my choice of hook. Still tinkering with rules to represent security alarmms and the rate of encounters, where the players can reduce the alarm level to stop the encounters

Hmm. Haven't come across any giant zombie mutants on my figure finding escapades. But something like that would be good for an escalating story line. I have some of the copplestone zombie soldiers that have the same body armour as the em4 Troopers so there is a similer story vein there; evil corporations using the zombie discovery to make super troopers.

for Giant mutants, have a look at Hasslefree (Big Ass 'Nemesis' types, might also be worth checking some of the WWW2 ranges for something similar) & Heresy (Lickers, if you look under the deamon section)

Really great looking stuff btw, and I love how you've done the Sovs. The slightly comic book look really works for them!

Those guys are perfect, they even have cybernetics. Cheers!

The lurkers and lickers from Heresy got my attention as well. Just have to make the Lurkers leap from some sort of technical device rather than their hellish terrain.

Thanks for the heads up Dragon. Introducing new monsters and foes in D&D has been one of the highlights of our games, and it helps extend the stories for the campaign. So to with this game i'd say. Sending one of those cyberzombies with some squishy and not so squishy back up to the Players safe house sounds like a hoot!

The prospect of making this game co-op with the Two Hour Wargames rules has got me excited. Yes! I'm thinking of another rule change. It's The Wasteland Forums fault, too many creative people in one place giving me crazy ideas.

Ooh, I agree...
Hasslefree cyber-zombies are so awesome :)

I love your painting style, so crisp and clean. It'll really look the part when combined with dark futuristic alleyways. Looking forward most of all to the Dwarf with minigun and that Swat-team.

Thanks guys. Taking a little interlude from the cyberpunk mini's to do some PA stuff, but at least the terrain will can be used for these guys. But the next one i do will be the dwarf. Did i mention he had a cigar in his mouth to? You can see him at Reaper in Chronoscope as, Willy Brassbender.

I fearfully started to stick greenstuff to one of Copplestones bodyguard from his Future Wars media team. I'm trying to get a likeness of Jazzbaux AKA Jessamin Bonney, but before she became Krokodil.

I was going for something like the cover of the novel.

And ended up with this which i'm pretty happy with so far.

Just thought i'd seek some advice from the stellar company in the Wastelands before i continue. Anything that needs to be added or taken away? Any suggestions for painting? Any suggestions for the next character?
