Haven't got the Spiders yet because they haven't been released, but they will be an obvious purchuse to open up the Rigger electronic warfare aspect of the game. Check out the supplier here;

Have been using the Warengine rules to make some very interesting character roles using special powers like Sudden Conversion for hacking Drones and automated security guns and doors, Fervour of the Rightous for things like Wired Reflexes, Invisibility for Optical Camoflage, Invigorate and Psychic Shield as various Biotech pharmaceticals...and there are so many others. I think the SR rules are getting a little entangling for what i want to do, so Warengine is looking promising, especially with the advanced rules from Strom Reaver. So thanks to Raven Feast feast for turing me on to them. I must seem a bit flakey at the moment, but we'll see how it pans out. :gdby:

Ross asked for some terrain examples, so here are a couple of piccies of one of the terrain sets. None of it is painted yet. This is 3"x3" playing area. Having control over weapon ranges and movement for models helps keep this game small and deadly. I'll have to do a solo play test eventually and see how my expectations fair compared to reality.

The tan looking safe door to the right of the first picture is where the zombies will be let loose. The Punks will be escorting a News crew to get footage of Gentechs nefarious research. Once the zombies are loose and infecting people there be a swath of dangerous situations to put the players into. :smoking:

This resin stuff is from Old Crow and Antenociti's Workshop. Haven't put together any of the Gun Sentries yet, but there will most likely be one or two in each of the Corporate terain sets. Also gto stuff for the Punks safe house, other entry points into Corpate enclaves. City streets will be a later project as the stuff i already have will serve quite a lengthy campaign regarding Gentech Biocorp and Zombies.

Good start, just need walls floors etc.

What are you planning on using for base board and walls for this?

I was planning on making some mounts for the doors to keep them standing up as partial walls. I think some side walls that can have some 'ribs' poking out would help for cover and the sense of walls. I could make them like capital T's from foam core and gaming textures. Should the complete playing area be surronded?

As for some kind of floor....not sure what to do there. Mounting some of the individual pieces of scenery on a representation of floor may help. The playing surface for some reason seems to need complete covering unlike the walls. Although a 3'x3' playing board shouldn't be too difficult. And know i hadn't really thought that far yet, so cheers Ross.

Yeah, I'd go with full floors, even if you never end up doing walls, just having the floors (as a map), with doors and room furniture would work well.

It does look really good getting a full gaming layout like that done. Go and check out the Dwarven Forge dungeons and spaceship interiors for an idea of how things can work :)

As for a floor covering I have recently seen use of granny grating. I considerit to be a fairly cheap method in a small area. Heck, even colo(u)red construction paper could be used too.

Granny grating?

And stop putting the 'u' in brackets. It's shitting me off :P If you're a yank, don't put it in. If you're a pom or and Aussie, put it in. Very simple lol

Er, what?

I can honestly say I have no idea what kinda undies grannies wear. My experience of women's underwear is normally black and lacey ;) Can't imagine deck plating being anything remotely like that. It would be a fecking awesome ship if it was though :P

Ross,

I suppose you could use your grannie's undies... depending on the effect you want to achieve you can have the brown side up side up for Wasteland settings

Bingo Tinker. If i can roll it up it's a good thing. Can even paint them a little for effect. Think i will still do the walls to give the poor players a bit of something to break up the LOS. And i suppose i could use granny undies to, but i don't want to play on anything larger than 3'X3'.

C-Cat,

Seeing this material is plastic it will have "memory" therefore could be a bear to keep from coiling while laying out for a game. I know I can buy it at Walmart in 11"x14" sheets, so you could keep in folder or something of the like. Even just cut it down into modular halls, rooms, walkways etc.

I think walls are a very good idea. Foamcore or cardboard should work I'd think... all depends on how detailed ya want to be. Me, my feeling is scenery is all facade anywho, so, just make fill the space and not look too awfully bad.

Granny Grating is pretty handy stuff. Makes for great chain-link, amongst other things. Need to pick up some more, when I get the chance.
