There are industrial sites dotted around the surface of Matt Black's world. Many are ruined. Some have been put back into use whilst others are used as bases, entertaiment venues or accomidation. Here is one such place (the first of many!). Out in the wastes a small band of scavs make a living refining the rubble and rocks from the ruins. Who knows what they will unearth? Somtimes lumps of melted copper, brass, gold, iron and silver. They trade this for commodites. ![]() The building is a Hotwheels mine toy. All I did was remove the crappy bits, add a base, basing materials and paint. Total cost £5.00. ![]() ![]() ![]() The store room door opens still. Great to hide minis in a game. ![]() Hopper filled with broken up cork tile. Ohhh look, there is a gigantic mutant cat hair in there! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!! The beauty of hotwheels toys is that they suit 20mm and 15mm too. Just wait until they go on sale before buying.

This was the third peice I made when I returned to the hobby. The chemical storage tower Lambda 10 mixes all sorts of nasty chemicals. ![]() All it is a a CD, pringles tube, a cigar tube, a drinks can, plastic drinking straws and bits from the bits box. Oh and a plastic ladder. ![]() Hmmm green gooo! This toxic leak is made from PVA glue left to dry and painted green. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to paint it a natural cardboard colour! ![]() ![]() The tower is a great sniping point. The tower is looking a bit tired these days so I am planing to rework it. Watch this space! |

The triple storage tower survived the end. Local gangers hold onto it as a vantage point. ![]() This is three pringles tubes, a board, some foam board for the platform, a ladder, plastic straws and bits from the depths of the bits box. Wire mesh makes up the hand rails. ![]() Members of the mercenary force "Claw Company" are hired to remove the gangers. ![]() Shoot out up top. The grating is made from net curtain. ![]() |

Other industrial bits.....![]() A dirt pile made from part of a hotwheels toy. ![]() No industrial site would be complete with out piles of pipes to offer cover. These are made from plastic drinking straws and elastic bands. A similar process can be used to make multiple rocket launchers. ![]() A smaller pile of pipes. ![]() The warehouse is carved from a peice of high density packing foam. Spackled and bits added from the bits box. |

Thanks for the comments. My wife is the pringles addict. I stock piled lots of the tubes to build a Necromunda board, but then lost interest. I have to admit to being a bit of a industrial terrain nut. Looking at my bits store I think I have enough bits to build an entire petrochemical works and oil refinery.

JAR... don't be too hard on him about the cats, he has a ready supply of ground cover with all that Kitty Littler about the place. Problem will of course be to keep the cats from addeing to the ground cover at a later time ![]() |

The other problem is stopping them jumping on the games table or flicking minis across the room. Hey JAR, cats are not that bad. You just need to think like them and they stay in line. Also cats not having thumbs helps. They know I open the cans!
Dogs are much better - more meat and less stringy! |
