Ninja that would be cool and welcomed, I like listening to music of friends. I myself am a musical cripple, crippled by no talent or skills |
| My hands are blistered from trying to get a grip on reality! | |

Cool! I started a thread in THE BAR. I seem to recall Matt making a comment when I joined this site about how The Bar could use a DJ... Well now we have one!

My music taste is a bit eclectic, but tends to revolve around metal. Growing up, me Mum was -big- on club music/trance/pop. I believe I started watching Headbanger's Ball not long after I discovered MTV. Youthful rebellion, and all that. It kinda' stuck. Tribal, Folk, and 'Themed' Death Metal get a nice thumbs up from me; Einherjer, Korpiklaani, Amon Amarth, Finntroll, things like that. Black metal is always good, along with Industrial black metal (The Kovenant, namely.). Thrash deserves a mention, with one of my earliest bands being Slayer. Lately, I've found myself listening to a lot of Japanese pop/rock/metal. Phantasmagoria, Exist Trace, Dir En Grey, Sadie, UnsraW, Danger Gang, etc. It's interesting to see how other cultures adapt a more Western style of music to their own cultural quirks. In high school, I generally hated techno-pop/weird crap, like Mindless Self Indulgence and the like, due to this one annoying jackass whom I hated. He repeatedly blared the same 2 songs, over and over, screaming about how good they are. I haven't seen him in a -long- time (YAY!), and now I enjoy the occasional bit of MSI. Been on a bit of a 'Punk' theme lately... Ironically, while none of the bands are anywhere near 'punk' in style, they keep the spirit alive more than any of the pop-y crap that exists now. Johnny Rotten (And the Sex Pistols) were awful.(IMHO) Lamb of God, The Superjoint Ritual, Fear Factory, Napalm Death, and anything with a heavy 'Anti-Establishment' theme works nicely. Barring all of that, loud, abrasive noise being played over the sound of a bull moose sodomizing a rabbit is pretty cool. Pretty much what one of my old bands sounded like when we were under the influence of 'stuff', and decided to try and play something. It was -awesome-!.... ly terrible. Don't believe me? Hold on to your eardrums,a nd get ready for some horrifying, annoying noise! http://www.myspace.com/makelater ... None of us really knew what we were doing, and we were drunk as hell... possibly other stuff involved, as well. Blame the alcohol. And the 'drummer' who wasn't a drummer, who insisted on keeping the recording device up his ass.. literally. |
