More terrain from my fair hand. First up is a hovel. I have had this finished for a couple of years now.

The walls and base are made from a triple ply corrigated cardboard box. The fence is a mix of cocktail sticks, lolly sticks and granny grating. The door is matchsticks and some other bits from my bits box were added. The roof is removeable but there is no interior detail.

And now....are you hungry after a tough day scavenging the wastelands? Well call into Sam N Ella's Fast food Joint!

Posted Image

They serve Meaties, Rat Burgers, Rat on a Stick, Mutant Munch and more. Flapjack shows what a short arse he is by standing behind the serving counter.

The stools are push pins with the pin removed.

Posted Image
The interior. Flapjack checks out the cooking area whilst Sammi D'cup checks out the rear store room.

Posted Image
Just in case of trouble a old rifle and battle axe are kept handy. Sam N Ella dont like non payers.

Posted Image
Sammi round the back.

Rear shot of the hot snax joint with the roof on.

Nah, but I might get two of those minis. I need another store owner for that hippy shop I plan. I see Ella as a blond. I still have no idea about what to do about Sam, mini wise.

I am sticking this in this thread - the first of my Wasteland Defences. I figure that every settlement will need some sort of defence structures other than the obligatory fence or trash barricade.

Here we see a firing step.

Posted Image

This is ideally placed behind your barricades and gives a good point to lay down suppressing fire.

Posted Image
As you can see it uses a car wreck with some dirt filled metal pipes to make the wall.

Posted Image
Or in this case a toy car and some drinking straws. :D The industrial looking gubbins comes from a car wiper blade set.

Okay more goodies from my shanties finished. More defences. I pinched the idea from the Flatblack blog for some sniper steps.

Just a bunch of hotwheels cars turned into a firing point. Hot glued onto a CD and sprayed with red primer. For deals on hotwheels cars go and look on fleabay, often there are lots of them for the price of one new car. Bargain!

Posted Image
Oh - I made a second one too.

Posted Image

My Dad kept this for me, he found it in a car boot sale for pennies. It was wrecked but it made a good wreck.

Brill. Love the use of the straws and the car as a platform. Very nice.

More wasteland terrain..

Here we see Renegade riding past some Armorco. These came from a toy police set. All I did was base them and paint them.
Posted Image

The Cult of the Purple Helmet check out a barricade.
Posted Image

Posted Image
The rear. It came from a toy farm set and was a fence. The some loony added plating made from card. :D

Matt Black God's world is set on a distant world in the future. So there would be some futuristic buildings right? On frontier worlds alot of those buildings would be some sort of prefab.

Tidying up the games room I ran into a model I made 24 years ago for 40K. It had been damaged so I stashed it. I fixed the roof. Added a resin aircon fan. Painted out some of the anti imperial slogans and added some posters.

Posted Image
The markings on the door are from rub down transfers for making circuit boards. The planet sign and door markings were on the original model.

Posted Image
Some added posters. I am fond of that Fallout one, although I cant think why! :D

Posted Image
The other art is also original. The graffiti about "burning the world" and "Khan" is new.

The model was made from various dairy based pudding cartons, a pen top and now a resin air con fan thingy. Quick and easy terrain. Its back out of retirement. :D

Meaning I have no talent now?!!! :twitch: :D

To be honest I have been model making since I was 4.

Looking at those sniper steps now, I think they may benefit from some colour on the wrecks even if it just a smattering of undercoat.

Some more stuff for my Shanties. As the wastelands have been terrorised by mutie men many places are organising more defences.

The Car wreck barricade

Posted Image
Posted Image

Made up from cheap plastic toy cars. 12 for £1. :D

The Low wall...

Posted Image
Posted Image

Made from scraps of foamboard and a old plastic crate. The wrecked crate is a press case mould of the other one.

The Big wall....

Posted Image
Posted Image
This wall is made from rubberised packing pieces for electronics equipment. I put it on a base and added a walkway.

I've always have felt that cars and concrete make better barriers than corrugated metal. But then again the corrugated materials is providing Line Of Sight cover too.

Very nice work! I have something similar planned for a town I've been collecting materials for - I've already built some of the walls a while back, but I need to construct some decent walkways for behind them, so minis can shoot over them!
