Terrain inspirations!; Pics of real or otherwise terrain.

Administrator Posts: 3,669 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: Jul 22, 2008	Stumble across a picture of a place or bit of terrain real or otherwise you think would make a great Post Apoc terrain peice or inspire the loons who build terrain on herer? Would you like to share this with everyone? The photo or picture can be from places you have visited, random internet browsing, movie scenery, Game screenshots or whatever. The rules are simple (no I am not going to say - there are No rules!), No porn, a bit of a blurb about the picture, no - non thread comments allowed (we will be forced to delete these if they get too many!).

These are some screenshots from Stalker Clear Sky: This is the basement of a ruined hospital on the outskirts of Piryat. Here is the view peering out across the ground floor of the ruin. This is the upper floor of the gallery. Here is a view down the gallery. Sorry its not any better - I had some crazy cultists shooting at me! Ahh look the sun has come out! Peering down the stairs. This is another gallery in the same hospital with lots of rubble. The sun has gone in and its quite dark here!

Stalkers chilling Cooking a radiated boar. Repair guy Trader. Looks a bit moody Ruined farm house Wrecked rail bridge. I should come back in the day light. Factory Underground store - now a sleeping place. Dark Valley industrial complex Radiated house of the bloodsuckers. The half built factory - freedom camp (bandits in the first Stalker). Freedom camp Freedom bar man - he is always talking about drugs. Another view of the unfinished factory. Some distant trees on a island in a lake. Dont step in the water kids! another ruined factory in the dark valley Inside the factory A freedom outpost A bong - now there is an idea for interior terrain!

I have recently been taking lots of pics which I have no problem posting up Should get around to it soon! So far they have been pretty awesome! Maybe I should be playing Fallout: Tactics again

I'll go back to taking some tactics pics soon I've also got some pics from my trip to the ukraine (various ones of hte Chernobyl zone & some abandoned WW2 bunkers) I'll put up some time...

Personally, I find industrial architecture really interesting. Also... check out some of these sites. I find the photography to be aesthetically appealing as it is, they also double as "inspiration" for Post Apoc concepts: http://www.abandoned-places.com/ http://www.opacity.us/ I lifted them from: http://www.ironhands.com/necro.htm - probably one of the best terrain builders out there. Sounds ridiculous I know, so I'll narrow it down: he's an awesome scavenger. Turns junk into amazing pieces. Miniature painting doesn't appear to be his forte but he has some wacky conversions too. Nice feel to it, some great ideas for buildings and generally everything to do with PA... found the controls to be a bit awkward though. Those Tactics pics are awesome... must be further than I've been in it If you think the Raiders have a hard time what about the poor Brahmin

I'll probably play it through to the end now, and then go back before the last mission...
