I couldn't resist trying to post apocalyptify some hotwheels/matchbox vehicles.
I still need to "cut" the edges of a few of the armor plates and add some stowage. I cant decide if i want to stick
my first car was a hotwheels brand 1970 buick gsx:

In the back you can see a hotwheels "rollcage" dunebuggy chassis in the back that will be my next project once my order from Stan Johansen Miniatures gets here.

the little grey guy is a soft rubbery figure that came in a set of matchbox with a hummer and a beefy wheeled vehicle with a turret on it. I think its a little bit large for 20mm but i dont have any figs to compare it to yet. If it does end up being too large, i can alwayse use it as some sort of mutant or somesuch.

I see 'em, now, and like 'em.

Now, how did you go about stripping off the original paint job?

No probs for me either. Nice wheels.

As I remember Dark Future's minis came in at 22mm for Hotwheels - but the cars may work up to 25mm true scale. I looked at 20mm and to me - they seemed a wee bit small for Hotwheels/matchbox scale.

I guess it partly depends on how you base the figures and whether the minis are 1/72 'true scale' or 20mm 'heroic'

1 There is no hotwheels/matchbox scale.
2 that's all you can fit into most cars; some have space for 1/72 figures but covered vehicles they simply forget about and make the most pathetic showing of an interior, so only a 20mm fig fits in there and you still have to stuff it in, cutting legs, grinding out seats, breaching the firewall etc.

The rust looks awesome! I'd suggest doing the cross on the door and the stake a different colour to make htem stand out more. The same for hte chains holding hte stake down
