Thanks for the compliments guys! Dicehead: Yeah, it took about 2-3 hours for that 6-1/2" section. It's slow going, but I think it'll look good in the end. The platform came out wonky (I wanted it higher on each end, with lower dips towards the middle), but it'll work out regardless. CC: That's a good idea, actually, but I'm pretty much limited to cigarette tube cartons and some random model packaging. It's all glossy card, so I'm not sure if weathering without a primer would work. Always worth a try, though. Tink: Don't worry about it! If I'm giving people handy ideas, then that's -more- than enough of a compliment for me. IB: Go for it! It's simple, just time-consuming as hell. And the matchsticks were a bit fiddly, but it all came together in the end. If you're doing it for 20mm, remember to use smaller pieces than you normally would. It may seem like common sense, but I've had to stop myself more than once when I was gluing random bits. |

Heh, good point. I already marked out 2 more bases, so with any luck, I'll at least have one more section done by tonight. Still trying to wrap my head around the corner pieces.. |

I've been experimenting on those too, but only on smaller yard fencing types. I determined there are two ways to proceed: 1 Build a corner piece that is simply that a general corner piece; 2 change the basing of the fences so that they meet but don't overlap (45 degree angle is a way) and these sections can be used any time. The corner sections would need to be built each and every time you plan on using a corner. So, I believe, the 2nd method to be the more utilitarian of the two builds. Now with pictures to illustrate the 2nd idea: Edited by tinker, Jan 20 2011, 10:15 PM.

Right, I told a fib in my bar post. 20mm stuff, but 2 pieces out of a planned 8+ straights and corners, possibly a gate/2 and some tower type deals. Spoiler: click to toggle Need to get used to spoiling all these things for size. Heh. But a modular system for setting up impromptu scrap fortresses and defended towns seemed like a good idea at the time. |

Not a lie so much as a forgotten half truth ![]() But I have a load of near blank ones sitting around and more detail bits to add. But, if I ever get off my lazy ass and get it all done, I 'should' have a pretty versatile spread to add to my 20mm collection. I hope. Edited by Dimitri, Apr 22 2013, 08:43 PM.
