My answer to those guys is to CHOP their hands off! :D But I hear you on the varnish. I varnish most of my bits. Besides it helps when the cat decides which one its going to flick across the room (paw of cat rules. There is also giant cat of the apocalypse and the Cats arse of doom rule).

Yeah.. i just hate how it makes the bloody detail run.. even with the 'Light, gentle, short spray' method I so methodically apply...

*sigh*

... Oh, yeah... I've got another variation of the web-tat. ad. Naked chick, cliche' crap, and some acid-trip type stuff..... I don't get it.

So, two new bits: A cesspit/pool of some kind (or a pool of toxic waste. Or just something nasty.), and, an experiment at easy-make couches.

Pool's pretty much just a ring of kittie litter mixed with thick pva, with thinner stuff poured inside. (I tried superglue first. Wasted almost all of my superglue.. ^o) )

The couch is a few chunks of scrap foamboard, with some bits of scrap fabric glued on. I'm hoping the primer eats at the foam, that way I can paint the left over texture in all sorts of nasty colors, like cotton/stuffing that's been left in the elements for too long.

I also picked up more black primer, more of my ultra-thick PVA, and some shampoo!
... I've been stuck using body-wash in it's place for the past week. Works in a pinch, but still..

Well, the humidity's gone up, so everything's taking forever to dry..

I'm going to seal parts of the fabric with more glue, to vary the textures, and I'll probably make about a dozen more. Chairs and such should be a cinch to make as well.

I need to put a few more together.. hmm... maybe some easy-chairs too... Laz-E-Boy, eat your heart out!

(Laz-E-Boy being a brand of American easy-chair, the overly-stuffed, reclining chairs with footrests, cup holders, and a bunch of crap you don't need.)

D,

don't forget to add some empty cable spools for end tables, or even a milk crate, with lots of empties on 'em.

I know litter up my own wastes, you'll litter up yours!

You know Tinker, you just got me thinking..

Thread spindles look almost exactly like those massive cable spools, and I know I can rig up more junk tables and seating arrangements easily enough..

If I can get that mixture I tried for the cesspool to work right, I can build up slag heaps with dwellings in and around them... ruins with jimmy rigged roofs, a couch or two, and a hobo stove.. hmm..

Wait.. DAMMIT!
STOP MAKING ME ADD STUFF TO MY 'To Do' LIST!

Grr...rashifraggin'..

Well, in other news, I picked up a pack of kid's plastic toy bugs the other day. Guess what? I'll have some new radscorpions, rhino beetles, giant roaches, giant ants, gargantuan tarantulas, and perhaps some grasshoppers/manti/bot flies.
I was surprised at the fact that
A: The sculpts looked decent,
B: They adhere with supergue, and
C: Cost $2.50 before tax for a pack of 30+.

Can't go wrong there.

Oh, and, as another bonus, you can always use big bugs for fantasy games, and I've had the urge to do some stuff for DnD/whatever system catches my fancy.

Giant bugs are aways a great buy! The terrain lsit certainly seems to be improvin... just think of it this way, if you can't drink, you can atl east get light headed from glue fumes whilst making terrain....

Nice find. Often the crap paint can be replaced too.

As for cable reels try to get the thread spools for sewing machines. They are thinner and the flanges have holes in them like the medium cable drums. Next time I am at my mum's I am off raiding! :D

Actually, there's a liquour store about a five minute walk from my house.. it's the county I'm going to be going to school in that's dry, not the one I'm in.

That aside...

I always keep an eye out whenever I go through the general store: It's how I found cork tiles, foam core, and most of my terrain materials, actually.
I've got plenty of the spindles laying around, but, I'll probably pick up some new ones, just to avoid Mother Dearest's wrath.

...I was going to add more, but I completely forgot what I was going to say.. That happens way too often.
