Hardy har har, actually, I do need some more scantily clad barbarians, skimpy sorceress', and Amazons.... but that's what you get foy buying second hand big lots of mini's, there might be one or too treasures, but never enough skimpy figures  Dyma, gnolls are a 2HD monster and should be a match for about 5th level characters (keeping in mind they run in packs of 2d6) which puts them roughly half way between an orc and an ogre. But that depends on how magically equipped the party is. I mean a 20th level character's still only going to do 1d12 with a non-magical long sword plus any strength bonus' (d12 being that gnolls are large creatures) so on average should need two hits to bring one down. Going by 2nd Ed rules that is, none of this "power gaming" 3-4th nonsense

Pick a base colour and lighten it with white (or bone if it's a brown), just straight highlighting with no washes or attempts to add more depth with shading. No secret, no trick, just a nice way to paint

I used to use a lot of washes & dry brushes, but these days I've traded that in for doing a base colour and shading for most of my work... I'll have to try using hi-lights as well... |

It helps to read alot of comic books as they've been making the 2D more life like for generations. Whereas we're just adding life to the three dimensional. I know I've said it before, and coming from me you all might think it a bit suspect, but if you're going to paint flesh or the naked/scantily clad for, then nude pictures, usual outdoor shots, are a good for reference material. |
