That odd fig is an old VOR Zykhee warrior. Blue-skinned, double jointed psychic aliens. My eldest son had quite a force of them for a while. In fact, the whole army might be sitting in a box down in the basement... |

Had I gotten the paints I needed that would have been true  Still, I'm amazed at how much it stopped me by not having white and bone. I've finished four giant spiders, about to finish five knights/paladins/warriors just needing the armour done, and after that I'll hit eight giant rats. Dentatus, that VOR, is that a fantasy sort of game? |

The one with the axe is my favorite, but the old Ral Partha one with the yellow and blue came up looking the the most striking I reckon. |

Indeed. It's the axe he claimed as his after defeating it's prior owner, the eldest son of one of the Demon Princes... He took it back to his order and had it consecrated as a holy weapon against evil. Something like that

Works for me I love Ral Partha (he's obviously RP), they just seemed to capture the classic D&D elements in 25mm perfectly. I mean alot of companies now do some decent and fairly well detailed 28's to 32's that mimic the 3rd Ed and 4th Ed D&D nicely, but for "old school classics" none have done it better that Ral Partha! ...... IMO .......

Nice brushwork. Let see 'em in action! And VOR The Maelstrom was a Sci Fi game put out by Ral Partha about 10 years back. Loads of fun, lots of great ideas and game mechanics. It's still lingering on the periphery of the hobby world like Marley's ghost, but in desperate need of a face lift and upgrade in order to be resurrected. |

Man, I've been wanting to do some Dark Fantasy for a while.. Problem is, I have no fantasy figures, and I'd need about 12 more shades of brown. I tried to repaint a few of the pre-painted hero types in the 3rd/3,5 starter box... that didn't work well. So, I'll just sit here in awe for a while. Oh, and please tell me you've made Gnolls more beastly stat-wise for your games? In every game I've played they always fall like flies, despite being bigger, stronger, and tougher than the average humie. Combine that with the spiff models you have, and it'd be a travesty to leave 'em with one hit die. |
