After training in Silent Forest, Kitty Kali headed out west along a Route that soon lead her to a frigid and remote location known as the Icy Grotto. The ground was covered in snow, the air was chilly, and as the young trainer stepped into the territory she looked out at a beach like area where water washed onto shore. She saw a few aquatic Pokémon diving into the water, or swimming about freely. Many scattering at the sight of a human.

It was obvious not many humans came here, As many of the Pokémon seemed to be afraid of humans. Taking one look at her they dived into the water, or retreated down the icy slopes. This place must be a heaven for Water and Ice types to live, and should be a decent training area. Particularly for her starter.

However it hadn't much occured to her that her other Pokémon might have trouble training here. She only hoped the Pokémon here weren't too strong. She really only wanted to capture a Water type or two, to help in Gym Battles and put on beautiful shows in contests. After her goal was accomplished, she'd probably return to Silent Forest to continue training...

"This should be a perfect spot to train and make friends." She was shuffling around in her back pack as she pulled out a warmer outfit, slipping a sweater over her head and pulling on a pair of long, woolly pants all of which were made from Mareep wool.

She then proceeded farther into the Icy Grotto, wondering who or what she might find in a place like this.

You walk across a cold barren strectch of land, the only sound you can hear were the crunching of the snow under your feet or the wail of the rushing wind. You see nothing so far, just the snow glittering under the light of the sun, which doesn’t bring you much warmth at all. Fortunately you donned an ensemble that kept out much of the cold. Well, some of the cold because today seemed like a very cold day in the Icy Grotto. Even for the icy area’s normal standard.

The view you see before you was an eye-opener if not breathtaking. Before you were a large expanse of snow untouched by anything but the wind. To you left was a dark wall of rack, presumably the side of a cliff, and it was the only color in the white sea of snow. So far no pokemon have caught you eye, either because you ventured into an uninhabited zone, or because you were just unlucky today. More so when you heard footsteps from behind; fast and small footsteps.

Then suddenly a force knocked you forward, face-first on the snow. A dark creature somersaulted in the air and landed before you, a smug smirk on his face. Whatever your response was supposed to be it was cut short when another set of footsteps came from behind you. This one heavier than the one before.
“Sneasel you little prankster!” a voice boomed behind you. It was a young girl, a very large you girl that ate way to much for her age. Her hair was golden and cut short, her eyes were emerald green and seemed to have an unusual glint in her eyes. She picked up the pokemon that hit you from behind, and turned to face you.
“I’m so sorry for what Sneasel did,” she said, “I don’t know what’s gotten into him.”

As Kitty fell face first into the snow, her first thought was 'Why me?' her second thought as she sat up rubbing her face was 'What hit me?' In which her unspoken question was answered when she looked up to see a Sneazel smirking mischieviously at her misfortune. Without hesitation the trainer whipped out her Pokédex, pointing it toward the Dark Ice type.

"Sneazel. The Sharp Claw Pokémon. A smart and sneaky Pokémon. A pair may work together to steal eggs by having one lure the parents away." Dexter analyzed before being replaced in the trainer's pocket.

"A Sneazel huh?"

It was then that Kitty heard a voice bellow from behind her. Turning toward the source she discovered a heavy set young girl smiling at her. Kitty stood up rubbing the back of her head as she blushed in embarassment.

"Yeah, don't worry about it...." She lowered her arm to her side and looked down Sneazel. "So is that little guy over there your Pokémon?"

The answer to her question was more or less an obvious one, considering that Sneazel appeared to be here with the girl. "If it is, how about we have a Pokémon battle?"

Kitty's Pokémon could use the experiance; and she could use the extra Pokédollars. She just hoped this girl wasn't tougher than she looked.

The girl before you snickered as you asked for a battle. It was either she was very confident of her battling skills or she was crazy. Seeing as her pokemon was an ice type, it’ll most probably be the latter. She looked at you with those eyes that shined with a mysterious glee and shook her head.
“Sorry darlin’ not in the mood” she said before brushing past you, Sneazel in her arms.

Think fast! Something has been stolen from you! Money? Personal Belongings? No, a pokeball! One that contained Angel! Hurry and catch up with the girl and her Sneazel before you loose her.

Kitty was pushed aside slightly as the girl brushed passed her, and as she watched the girl leave, she subconciously felt along her belt where she kept her Pokémon securely clipped into place inside the safety of their Pokéballs. As she counted the Pokéballs on the left of her belt... she had three. As she counted the ones on the right she had two... wait.... TWO?

"Hey! Get back here, you thief!" She shouted running after the girl, she then pulled a Pokéball off the left side of her belt and tossed it into the path of the girl and her Sneazel. "Emberina, Get Angel back!"

"Charmander! Charman!" The Fire type emerged from her Pokéball, blocking the path of the thief and her Ice/Dark type accomplice.

Kitty stood behind the girl and her Sneazel, glaring at her as she shouted. "Give back Angel right now!"

"Charmander char char charmander!" Emberina ordered, glaring angrily at Sneazel as she repeated a similiar order to the one her trainer had given, only in Pokémon language.

The girl who stole your pokemon stopped dead on her tracks as a Charmander materialized before her and Sneazel. Then you so bravely ordered her to give back the stolen pokeball, to which the Charmander repeated vigorously. Both thieving trainer and pokemon laughed at your futile attempt to exert authority. Amelia, the thief, looked back at you and said,
“Sure, I’ll give your pokemon back just because you said so!” Then she laughed her heart out, as if what she said was funny.

While the girl was doubled over in laughter, the swift dark type leaped from her hands and slashed at your Charmander with his sharp claws. With that hurdle out of the way the girl continued to run away from you, Sneasel in tow. Better act quick or your precious pokemon will be lost forever.

Emberina let out a yelp of pain and surprise as the Sneazel's claws slashed her leaving scratch marks diagnolly across her face, in which she held with her claws and cried out in pain. The girl then took off running again, and Kitty growled in annoyance.

"Who does she think she is? You won't get away!" Kitty shouted, bringing out yet another Pokéball from her belt. "Normally only one Pokémon is allowed in a battle like this. But this is no battle! Webs, I need you now!"

"Spinarak!"

"Webs, I need you to stop that thief! Use String Shot!"

"Spina!" The Bug/Poison Pokémon nodded his head and shot a string of webbing toward Amelia's legs; hopefully it'd bind them together and cause her to fall, mean while Kitty proceeded to chase her, while calling back to her starter.

"Emberina, block their path and be wary of that Sneazel! If he tries anything funny hit him with Scratch!"

"Charmander!" The Fire type wasted no time running on ahead, and should the String Shot plan succeed she'd catch up to them in no time.

Amelia looked back to see Spinarak unleashing a web of sticky strings aimed at her feet. She had enough experience to know that being hit by that attack would surely allow her victim too catch up, and possibly take back her pokemon. Amelia would have none of that.
“Sneasel darling, cut those web into ribbons!” Amelia ordered, to which Sneasel happily complied. Using his ultra sharp claws and swift speed, Sneasel managed to cut down those pesky little strings turning them useless.

She now faced the little fire lizard before her. The Charmander would easily beat Sneasel, being part ice. Too bad for her victim however, Amelia had more than one pokemon as well. She unclipped a pokeball from her belt and tossed it into the air. Out came her second pokemon Spheal.
“It’s obvious we have to battle the little girl guys,” Amelia said to her pokemon. “Let’s wipe the floor with her!”

Kitty skid to a stop behind Amelia watching as Sneazel hacked Webs' thread into ribbons. Emberina had successfully taken the opportunity to cut off their retreat route as Kitty, Emberina and Webs now surrounded them. To Kitty's surprise, the other trainer tossed a Pokéball upon the ground revealing her second Pokémon.

"It's a Spheal!" She quickly drew her Pokédex aiming it at the second Ice type to appear on the scene.

"Spheal. The Clap Pokémon. It rolls across ice floes to reach shore because its body is poorly shaped for swimming." Dexter analyzed before being replaced within Kitty's pocket.

"It looks like this has become a double battle. Get ready, guys."

"Charrr!"

"Spinarak Spina!"

"Now, let's save Angel! Emberina, use Scratch against Spheal! Webs, use Scary Face to slow down Sneazel!"

"Char!" Emberina ran toward her target, claws raised and ready to strike on her owner's command.

"Spina!" Webs proceeded to form the pattern on his back into an angry looking face, directed toward Sneazel, should he happen to look at him.

OOC: If they both beat Sneazel and Spheal, will they each get 5 Exp? Or will they get 10 each? Or will it be shared in some way?

Amelia laughed as you checked Spheal out using the pokedex you had. Apparently she found it funny that you know so little about pokemon that you needed to use some ugly little gadget to garner information. Amelia didn’t need too; she knew everything there is to know about Spinarak and Charmander.
“You just showed how new you are to being a trainer little girl.” She taunted at you before laughing again.

Amelia smiled as you gave out your orders. First the Scary Face and the Scratch. Neither attack scared the thief because you obviously never battle in the ice before. For one thing, Spinarak himself will not be able to move as quickly as he can due to the snow, but Sneasel, being an Ice type, can. Scary Face may have slowed him down but he still had the upper hand in terms of speed. But still, it paid to make sure such an attack couldn’t be used again.
“Sneasel, use Taunt!”

Sneasel smirked and made very rude gesture infuriating Spinarak. No longer will he be able to use non-damaging attacks, those Sneasel can handle.

Then you sent Charmander to use scratch against…a water type. Never must you engage a water type with a fire type at such close range.
“Foolish girl!” Amelia taunted, “Charamander is dead, use Water Gun Spheal!” Spheal obliged and sent a jet of water towards the Fire pokemon, hitting him square at the chest. It knocked him far from his original path, making the scratch miss.

Kitty wasn't stupid, she knew her strategy was risky. She knew Emberina had a disadvantage. But what else could she do? Her choices were very limited, and it truth she was only a starting trainer. But she was also knowledged in Pokémon strength and weakness... she only used her Pokédex for record purposes. To get more indepth detail on Pokémon she encounters.

Her opponent was using an Ice and Dark type along with a Water and Ice type. Her Charmander should normally have the advantage over Ice types... but alas she lacked any Fire attacks. As for Spinarak, he really had no advantage nor disadvantage at all here. His only downfall was the ice and snow and lack of trees....

The young trainer could only watch in horror as the Water Gun slammed into her precious starter, sending her flying through the air and weakening her to a dangerous level. Kitty had no choice, she'd have to use someone else... and with that said she quickly returned Emberina to her Pokéball.

"I know Emberina can't beat Water types... I had her in because Ice is weak against Fire types...." She said in her own defense, then thought to herself, 'If only she knew an actual Fire attack to back it up...'

She then tossed in another Pokémon to replace Emberina. "Shyanne, you're needed now!"

"Meow!"

After swapping Pokémon, she looked at Webs who was presently under the affect of Taunt. That was actually bad for Amelia, considering the only attack her Spinarak knew ... was a move that might Poison the Pokémon it hits!

"Webs, use Poison Sting on Spheal!"

"Spina!" The Bug prepared his attack, only this time he was smart. He saw what happened when Emberina attempted a close attack, so he instead lifted his head and shot poisonous needles from his mouth rather than trying to get in close to use the stinger on his head.

Amelia smirked when you recalled Charmander. A wise move since Charmander beating Spheal seemed, no was, impossible.

"I know Emberina can't beat Water types... I had her in because Ice is weak against Fire types...." You said, to which Amelia just laughed.
“Of course, ice is weaker than fire. Now if only you used Ember rather than Scratch, everything would be dandy.” And then she laughed again, harder this time. Obviously she enjoyed insulting you.

You swapped it for a Meowth, but again Amela was not perturbed. She was very confident with her battling skills and her pokemon, but perhaps that may be her downfall.

Then Spinarak was ordered to shoot poison needles at Spheal, but Amelia would have none of that.
“Sneasel use scratch to knock away those needles, Spheal use Water Gun on the kitty cat!.” Both pokemon did as they were told, Sneasel’s claws glowed white as they sliced through the air, knocking away the needles. Unfortunately, those needles still had some kick to them thus damaging the Dark pokemon a little bit. Spheal on the other hand released a pressurized jet of water aiming right for Meowth!

'That's just it though... Emberina can't do Ember yet...' Kitty thought to herself as she glared at her opponent. She wouldn't dare tell Amelia that, though. The girl was already enjoying harassing and humiliating Kitty without knowing all the facts.

As Sneazel knocked the attack away from Spheal, he took a portion of the damage meant for his Water type partner. It was still all well and good because in the end someone still got hurt. But it appeared it'd be hard to dispose of Spheal as long as Sneazel was there to protect her.

As the Spheal launched a Water Gun toward's Kitty's Meowth, the trainer had to think fast. Everytime she tries to attack Spheal... Sneazel protects her. It was time for a new plan. Shyanne braced herself as she awaited orders from her trainer... the water reaching her pretty quickly.

"Shyanne! Jump and aim a Scratch attack toward Sneazel! Webs, help her out! Use Poison Sting!"

"Meow!" Shyanne leapt into the air as the spray of water shot underneath her, she then raised her claws as she launched her attack toward the Sneazel.

However, it'd be hard for the Dark type to avoid damage as at the exact same time, Kitty's Spinarak had aimed his Poison Sting toward Sneazel! Shyanne and Webs weren't stupid though. They also took careful precision to ensure there be no way to accidently hurt each other.

“Sneasel counter with Scratch!” Amelia ordered as Meowth closed the distance, whose claws began glowing, signaling it’s attack. Sneasel did the same and the two pokemon locked claws together. Both of their claws did not find their mark, making both Meowth’s and Sneasel’s attack worthless. However, Spinarak was cunning when he launched his Poison Sting, enough that Sneasel wasn’t able to dodge this one. The Poison Sting hit dead center, but fortunately he wasn’t poison.

What was peculiar was the fact that Spheal could have easily subdued Meowth with a Water Gun while he was rushing towards Sneasel, especially since two pokemon weren’t close to each other. But she didn’t. Maybe she had something else in plan.
“Sneasel, Spheal you know what to do.”

Sneasel nodded and grabbed Meowth by his arms and pinned it behind his back. Surprised and caught off guard, Meowth wasn’t able to put up much of a fight. Especially when Spheal then launched a jet of water straight for Meowth! Unable to he got the full blow of the attack, plus it was aimed at his squirming face choking him. Finally Sneasel let go, allowing Meowth to fall on his knees, coughing from the brutal attack. Sneasel. Luckily, this meant that Sneasel was free game during the attack.

"Meow! Meow! Meow ow! MEOW!" Shyanne was yelling and struggling in agony as the brutal attack nearly drowned her, causing Kitty to look on in appauled silence at the cruel scene unfolding in front of her.

"What are you doing!? That isn't how Pokémon battle! This is abuse!" Kitty shouted at the trainer as Sneazel released the choking feline from his grasp, allowing her to drop to the ground coughing and spitting up water.

"Shyanne! Are you alright? Can you still battle?" Concern for the health of her Pokémon was evident in the trainer's voice.

"Meow...." She slowly stood up on all fours, a bit shaky but she soon shook it off. That Spheal was going to be a problem; and with Sneazel and the trainer playing nasty this fight was rough.

"If you're going to play rough, I'll play rough! Webs, aim your Poison Sting toward the same spot as the last one!"

"Spinarak!" Webs fired another Poison Sting aimed directly for the area the first one had damaged, hoping this time he can Poison the Sneazel in question.

"Shyanne, keep Sneazel from dodging! Hit him with Scratch and knock him toward Webs!"

"Meow!" Her task was easy with her already in close range, and as Sneazel boasted over how much damage the Meowth had taken, said Meowth turned toward her Icy opponent, lashing her claws behind his back as she half Scratched half shoved Sneazel toward the Spinarak... and its on coming Poison Sting!
