For some of you, it's Good Friday. For the rest of you it's just April 22. Regardless of what you view today as, I have an announcement to make.

I'm planning some big-time overhaul for the RPG to be implemented some time within the next couple weeks. It'll affect everybody, and I hope it'll be a change for the better. These are some of the changes we have in store.

~A map of the entire Rindo Region will be made, including cities, routes, special areas, and anything else that would be good for the RPG.
~Speaking of routes, we'll be adding those too. They will connect the cities together, and will serve as the replacement to Capture Arenas. Done!
~Capture Arenas will soon be removed from the RPG, and here's the reason why: They're dull, repetitive, and you don't really get a whole lot of development out of them. When the changes are complete the topics will be archived. Anyone currently in a Capture Arena topic will be compensated when the changes are implemented. (This is why I haven't modded Dialga/Drako/Aki in the Capture Arenas lately; I want to wait until the changes come about.)
~Cities will also go through a cosmetic overhaul, so to speak. Teams of important trainers are also being edited - I'm working backwards right now, and have already finished all the post-E4 trainer teams. The E4 will probably also be given rematch teams. Done!
~When the Battle Frontier Shop is finished, a standardized TM list will also be implemented. I plan to have 100 TMs plus a few HMs to go along with them. TMs will now have unlimited usage, in accordance with the Generation Five changes. Done!
~Since Aero doesn't take care of the website as often as he should, the DNA Dex will now be made public, once I have finished writing all the Generation Five Pokemon's entries. (As of the time I am writing this, I am up to #601 Klinklang.) It will be posted as a sticky. Done!
~And as a heads-up to all you members and RPG mods out there: Shiny Pokemon can ONLY be obtained via an RPG event - typically, a Trivia of Bass event, although there may be others. Members cannot make their Pokemon shiny after they have obtained them, nor can a mod make a shiny Pokemon appear outside of an RPG event, unless Bass gives said mod permission for that one instance. There is also currently no such thing as a shiny Fakemon either.

Most of these things will be carried out by Akito and myself, and I definitely hope all of you RPG players will be pleased with the changes. It will probably also make the RPG more appealing to both new and continuing RPG players alike.

I'll make another announcement again, or post in this topic, when the changes are completed.

Rudimentary map of the Rindo Region. So far it's got 20 routes, bunch of cities, and a few miscellaneous places to go along with them. I'll steadily be changing everything around over the next couple days to match the changes. The block of text on the right are the locations of various legendaries, as well as the corresponding locations where Pokemon such as Magneton may evolve.

That bottom bit is an extra piece, Haban Island, which contains the Pokemon League, Battle Frontier, as well as a bunch of other post-game stuff. Then again, there's post-game stuff everywhere.

...crap, Photobucket scaled it to about 40% size. Oh well, at least the original paper and original file are both fullsize. Perhaps I shall resort to Tinypic.

All right, guys, the announcement is here.

The RPG has been overhauled!

In addition to the changes I brought about in the first post, I'm going to introduce the following things:

~You no longer are required to start from Groundrock Town. You can either make your way there yourself from another city, or chance your luck by looking around a city in Rindo for a different starter Pokemon (however, you'll be at your mod's mercy).
~All starter Pokemon are now level 10, not level 5. Eggs will also hatch at level 5.
~Ah, yes, and you're no longer required to be a Pokemon Trainer per se - you will only be one if you wish to be. You can choose simply to go around collecting (although, there are some areas that are still off-limits to non-Trainers).
~We're going to be introducing something else to the RP as well: Contests! Yes, starting soon, you will be given a chance to be a Pokemon Coordinator (instead of, or in addition to, a Trainer) if you so wish it. The Contest system is already in the works and will be released within the next several days. I hope to release it before the 28th of May if possible.
~I'm going to give all the TMs in the game locations. I've already given all the legendary Pokemon locations, so the TMs are next. For the time being, though, legendaries (outside of events) won't be acquirable just yet. There's also probably only going to be one of each, also...except for Phione and Manaphy. Those I will definitely give out multiples of.
~By the way, the Gym Leaders give out TMs now. For each badge you have in your RP profile, look in the sticky for that respective Gym Leader, look up the TM that the Gym Leader gives out, and give yourself that TM. e.g. Cepheus will be getting all 8 TMs. TMs are also now unlimited usage.

~Capture Arenas are now gone! Yes, those hideous things are now over. They've been replaced with Routes. So how does this affect you? If you were in a Capture Arena, let me know, either in this topic, PM, or chatbox. Your entire team level (in the party) will be increased by 3, plus I'll give you one free Pokemon - the decision will ultimately be mine, but if you ask for a specific species that isn't overpowered for your current location, I'll give you it. The Capture Arena forums will soon be archived within the next few days. If you're in a Capture Arena, continue your journey outside it.
~Additionally, if you have less than 2 badges, your entire team level (in the party) will be increased by 2. That will stack with the previous boost. And if you have less than 2 badges, again, let me know.

I believe that's all I need to cover for right now. Yes, you guys, there was a reason I wasn't responding to your topics. You have now been reimbursed.

you'd better give me a drillbur b**ch

Drillbur pl0x?

I'm in Rockville Capture Arena at the moment. Which route should I switch to? Also a map of Rindo would really help in navigating through. If you've already made it, (which if I'm not mistaken you have) then could you post it somewhere on the forum?

@Volvagia: The map is exactly 4 posts above this post, lololol

However I'll probably be tweaking this thread sometime to cover all the new changes, and throw the map in there as well. Probably about the same time I add the contest halls...or most likely sooner.

As for your mon,

Kuribro:
Posted Image
Sandile, level 14, Ground/Dark, gender your choice, ability Intimidate or Moxie
Moves known: Bite, Sand-Attack, Torment, Sand Tomb

Volvagia:
Posted Image
Drilbur, level 25, Ground, gender your choice, ability Sand Rush or Sand Force
Moves known: Rapid Spin, Metal Claw, Dig, Hone Claws

Neither of these Pokemon will be affected by any level-boosts your party gets due to the update.

Another update to go with all the rest. I'm just going to post all the new additions in this topic to save time.

There is now an experience system.

It will be expressed as a single decimal place after the Pokemon's level, e.g. that Drilbur's level will be 25.0 instead of just 25. The mods will now give experience (at their discretion) in the form of increasing the decimal, e.g. giving out .4 exp would raise that Drilbur's level to 25.4. Leveling up involves that decimal place obviously passing 10, e.g. 25.8 -> 26.2. And when it levels up, the decimal place doesn't go back to 0 - it stays at whatever the mod gave it.

This way, mods don't have to remember how many battles a Pokemon needs to go through before leveling up.

~~
In addition to that, the Daycare system is being altered slightly. When you go into a new area, any Pokemon you have in the daycare will gain half a level (+.5). The 10-posts-per-level factor is being removed as it's too hard to keep track of. Akito123 will be taking care of the daycare for the most part. He'll also update the levels of any still there. (The Terrian Village one is really the one that needs to be updated. The Longshore City one is fine.)

And as usual, you need to go pick the Pokemon up again to retrieve it.
