I just got a new laptop and I want to use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection but the instruction guide is telling me to turn off the Firewall temporarily. Would turning off Firewall temporarily would DAMAGE MY computer. I think I could scan later with my Norton 360. |

Well, I'm not an expert, but I've had to turn off my Firewall temporally before, and nothing bad has happened. As long as its not for a long period of time, and you aren't just surfing the web while its down (or clicking on suspicious links/messages), it should be fine. Doing a scan after you're finished would help as well. |

Yeah, you do have to be careful, because there are lots of viruses floating around, but if you're just taking down the Firewall to set up your Wi-Fi, it should be okay. |

I have the official... It doesn't work on my vista, so I have to use it on my family's XP I don't remember having to put the firewall down, but maybe I just forgot. |

You really don't need it. All you need is wireless internet. |
