As the title suggests, this will be where I post various Pokemon oneshots that I've written. I'll start by reposting the three from the old forums, and then I'll post new ones as I write them. Anyway, here's a general warning/disclaimer before I get to the story (PLEASE READ): I don't own Pokemon, and I don't profit from these stories. My view of the Pokemon world can be less than idealistic, so there will be blood in the battles and death does happen. I will put various warnings before the stories that contain them. If you have any questions on how my world works, or on something in my stories that you didn't understand, ask and I'll answer to the best of my ability. Reviews and CC are of course welcome. Cold is my first story, and its not very happy, so sorry about that. The next two will be happier. All of my stories are unedited, so if you see a mistake, please tell me. Warnings: Minor violence/bloodshed, character death. Cold Jake probably should have listened when the weather channel warned of a huge snowstorm that covered the entirety of routes 216 and 217. If he had, he would have heard some invaluable advice: If you have to go out in the storm, then bundle up and don't fall asleep. As it was however, Jake rarely paid attention to such things. This led to his current predicament. He was lost, hungry, tired, and, most importantly, cold. He and his partner, Eevee, had been walking for what seemed like hours, but had seen no landmarks or signs of life. All that they had for company was the constant snow, and the bone chilling wind. However, just as Jake was beginning to lose hope, he stumbled into a small area of grass that stubbornly rose above the snow. In the middle of the grass sat a rock, frozen in a thick layer of ice, it seemed to gleam as it towered above the wasteland of snow, even though there was no light to reflect. In the distance, Jake could just barely make out a clump of fir trees. “It’ll have to work as shelter until the storm passes,” he told Eevee, “We need to rest anyway. I could use a nap.” They headed toward the trees, and the odd stone was forgotten. Jake curled up under a tree, and pulled Eevee into his lap. “I’m so tired...” he murmured, and he slipped into unconsciousness. Eevee was about to join him when a twig snapped to their left. He jolted to awareness, and spied a dark shape circling them. He knew that his trainer was defenseless, and could tell that the Pokemon that was stalking them meant harm. Sliding out of Jake’s arms, he became intent on driving off the threat. Cold permeated his fur, but he ignored it and lunged at the shadowy creature. It fled toward the stone, and Eevee followed. Lunging at the fleeing form, he dug sharp fangs into its shoulder. It shrieked, and a pair of long claws swiped towards him in an attempt to get him off. Eevee hung on doggedly, and the creature tried a new tactic. Eevee let go with a cry of pain as he was slammed into the hard rock. As he fell to the ground, the cold seemed to rip through him, and for a moment, everything faded. Awareness returned a second later, and he watched as a light caused the stone’s surface to glitter like diamonds. Suddenly, everything was clearer, though the storm still raged. More importantly, the cold didn’t bother him anymore. Suddenly filled with energy, he turned to his opponent. For a moment, it stood there, sizing him up as crimson blood dripped from its wounded shoulder. Then, it turned and fled. Eevee, now Glaceon, watched until the form disappeared from sight before returning to his trainer’s side. When he drew close however, he noticed that something was amiss. Jake wasn’t breathing. Horrified, he rushed to the boy, but all that he found was a cold corpse with blue lips, lying beneath the fir trees. An anguished cry was torn from his throat, and he curled up next to the body, trying to will Jake back to life. A day later, the storm subsided, and a rescue team was sent to find anyone who had been caught in the storm. A group wandered the area, and came across a certain stone that sat near a small group of trees. One man stumbled across Jake’s body, but his shout broke off in the middle as he observed a blue Pokemon that stood from its place near the body, and bounded away, quickly disappearing from sight. He had never seen anything like it, and when he informed the others, rumors were quick to spread among the locals: A demon lives in the circle of grass that surrounds the frozen stone. It had caused the horrible storm. It had taken a boy’s life, and it would do so again. They deemed the area cursed, and warned all travelers to avoid it. Still, sometimes people would ignore the warning, and travel to the forbidden stone, but they would always flee when they caught a glimpse of the creature that lives there. Glaceon still does live there, forever haunted by the loss of the person he failed to protect. Now he stays at the place of his failure, unable to forget and move on. Though a being of the cold, he was unable to protect his closest friend from it. |

Well, its the start of Homecoming week at my High school, so I thought that I might as well put this up now, since it was inspired by the previous Homecoming. Its short, but much lighter than the first one, and hopefully, its good. The quote at the start is from Homecoming last year, I thought it fit. The first part is in Latin, the second is its translation. Enjoy, and please tell me how I'm doing and what I can fix or improve! Warnings: none Celebrate “Gaudeamus igitur iuvenes dum sumus.” “Let us rejoice therefore while we are young.” -------------------------------- Duke sat by the campfire, waiting for the water to boil. His team was scattered around the clearing. A Magmar stood close to him, monitoring the fire. Further away, a Hitmonlee was sparring with an imaginary opponent, while a Pidgeotto sat on a branch above him, watching. Just outside of the firelight, a Jolteon dosed. With a cry of triumph, Duke snatched the now boiling water from the fire, and poured it into the five bowls of freeze-dried food sitting next to him. “Dinner’s ready!” He called to the surrounding Pokemon, “Get it while it’s hot!” There was a flurry of movement, and they gathered around the fire. “Here’s to a year on the road together, with all of its struggles and achievements,” he proclaimed, “and here’s to another year of adventure and battles!” He lifted his bowl in a toast, and the Pokemon echoed his sentiment, filling the air with joyous cries. “I say we eat, and then stay up late celebrating, it’s not every day that you can celebrate an anniversary, after all.” They stayed up all night to celebrate, and, tired but content, they sat around the dying embers of the fire, and watched the sun rise above the trees. A year. They had been together for a whole year. They had fought countless battles, explored several areas, and had challenged and defeated five gym leaders. To them, that was living, that was fellowship, that was everything. So they rejoiced, and found happiness in their journey, and in each other. |

This is the last of the reposting. It was originally meant to be a Christmas special, but its obviously a little late now. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. R&R! Warnings: none Noel Patrick was having a nice dream. Until of course, his little sister jumped on his bed, and started yelling in his ear. “Patrick! It’s snowing outside, and there’s presents! Get up!” Nancy cried excitedly. With a groan, Patrick rolled over to stare at his clock. A bright red 4 stared balefully back at him. “It’s only four in the morning, Squirt! Your presents will still be there when the sun comes up, and it’s not unusual for it to be snowing at this time of year. Go back to sleep.” He grumbled as he turned to glare at her. He was met with the sight of his little sister pouting and clutching her Sentret doll as she sat on the edge of his bed. “But I’m too excited to go back to sleep!” She whined. With a sigh, he turned his attention to the Houndour asleep at the end of his bed. “Aren’t you supposed to protect me from this type of thing? What kind of partner are you?” The Houndour in question merely turned and gave him an innocent look. Patrick could almost hear him laughing. “Traitor.” Patrick growled. Resigned to the fact that he was awake and not going to be able to go back to sleep anytime soon, Patrick pulled off the covers and stood up. Satisfied, Nancy grinned and bounced out of his room. Patrick threw on some clothes, and dropped his pajamas on the floor. Taking a deep breath, he followed his little sister down the stairs with Houndour close behind him. “I can’t believe I came home just to get woken up earlier than I do when I’m traveling!” He complained to Houndour. “I was hoping to actually catch upon my sleep before heading back out!” Houndour ignored him, and Patrick entered the living room with a huff. What he saw there stopped him cold. He had to bite back a laugh when he saw his Noctowl perched on the back of a chair wearing a Santa hat, but then his attention was drawn to the center of the room. Nancy stood in front of the tree, shyly holding a badly wrapped present in front of her. His Tyrogue stood next to her, wearing a hat similar to the one Noctowl had on, holding her Sentret doll. Houndour moved to sit at her other side, and she smiled softly up at him. “Merry Christmas, Big Brother,” she whispered, holding out the present, “and I’m sorry that I woke you up so early, but I wanted to give you your present before Mom and Dad woke up. You’re not angry, are you?” She stared up at him with tears in her eyes. Patrick paused, then smiled and took the present. “Of course I’m not mad at you Squirt,” he replied, and enfolded her in a hug, “I could never stay mad at you.” He pulled back and looked down at her, “I don’t know how you managed to get my Pokemon to help, but thanks Squirt, and Merry Christmas to you too.” She laughed and buried her face in his chest. “I love you Big Brother.” “I love you too, Squirt.” Maybe coming home for the Holidays wasn’t so bad after all... |
