![]() Rating a team doesn’t mean giving it an actual rate like 6/10. It means to help make the team better by pointing out the weaknesses of the team and then providing the information on how to make it better. Here are some steps on how to make a proper RMT so please try to follow them. ____________________________________________________________________________ Topic Name- It is always helpful to have a good or catchy title to attract more raters. ____________________________________________________________________________ Images of Pokemon- Having pictures or sprites of the pokemon in your team is a MUST. People will usually not rate a team that does not include pictures of your pokemon. Images of pokemon can be found on these sites. PokemonElite2000 Sprites Arkeis Sprites ____________________________________________________________________________ Formatting- This is very important as well. Don’t post your team without there natures, ev's, items and movesets of all your pokemon. This is the standard format that everyone uses when posting there team: Pokémon @ Item Ability: Ability of pokemon EVs: A Nature (+???, -???) - move - move - move - move So something like a Dragonite would look like this: Dragonite @Yache berry Ability: inner focus EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed jolly(+Speed, -SpAtt) - Dragon Dance - Outrage - Fire Blast - Earthquake Description: Don’t just post all your pokemon without explaining what they do for your team. Explain each pokemon’s role in the team. So for a dragonite I would say something like: Dragonite’s role in this team is to come in on something it resists and set up while they switch. Dragon Dance for the speed and atk increase and after that I proceed with sweeping. Earthquake is pretty basic and fire blast takes out skarmory and foretess that otherwise wall this set. Outrage as your final move to do massive damage before dying.Yache berry helps me survive any Ice type attack aimed at it while setting up or sweeping. ____________________________________________________________________________ Sample Team (Credit to Crow) Empoleon @ Focus Sash EVs: 156 HP/252 SpA/100 Spe Modest -Hydro Pump -Aqua Jet -Stealth Rock -Ice Beam Surprisingly good lead. Handles many other common leads well, and even though it’s a suicide lead, it can survive for a bit if played around its weaknesses. Its nice to note that if it draws magnezone, it can OHKO with torrent boosted hydro pump. Roserade gives it problems, though. To solve this, I’ve considered trading the focus sash for a lum berry. Gyrados @ Leftovers EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe Adamant -Dragon Dance -Waterfall -Ice Fang -Stone Edge Gyrados, with his standard dragon dance set. Although he is running a sweeper set, his main goal is to act as a violent scapegoat. The idea is that Gyrados can take out a few of the opponent’s pokemon while luring the opponent into a false sense of security thinking they took out my physical sweeper when he dies. However, my real physical sweeper is laying in wait. Although, I’m wondering if running a rest-talk set would be better for my team. Magnezone @ Leftovers EVs: 172 HP/232 SpA/104 Spe Modest -Substitute -Magnet Rise -Thunderbolt -Hidden Power [Grass] The almost standard steel-trapper zone set. 20 evs were taken from special attack and added to his speed so he can outrun 180 speed grosses and grosses who run one more to outspeed other grosses. Hp [grass] as a swampert check, because I’ll have a hard time with him if Breloom is gone. I feel explosion could be useful on this set because it does so little to the Celebi and Blissy who like to wall it so often. But I have no clue how to modify it because of the usefulness of all the current moves. Breloom @ Toxic Orb EVs: 48HP/252 Atk/208 Spe Adamant -Spore -Focus Punch -Seed Bomb -Substitute My main swampert check and also a generally good and annoying pokemon. Very few people have a good way of handling Breloom. Can also absorb status while poisoned, and actually enjoys when my opponent lays down toxic spikes. Latias @ Life Orb EVs: 128HP/128 SpA/252 Spe Timid -Calm Mind -Dragon Pulse -Surf -Recover Latias is just a great pokemon in general (albeit t-tar bait). This set tries to run an offensive defensive set, as the evs are on the defensive CM set, while its item and moveset are from the offensive CM set. It’s probably my best mixape counter. Salamence @ Life Orb EVs: 4HP/252 Atk/252 Speed Jolly -Dragon Dance -Outrage -Earthquake -Stone Edge Salamence, this team’s real physical sweeper and general clean-up. He likes to lay in wait, only coming out after zone has dealt with the steel types. Since he won’t have to deal with steel types, fire blast can be foregone and earthquake and stone edge can both be run. He hates the stealth rock that plagues my team (as I have no spinner), so if the opponent has a pokemon that is faster than him, he usually goes down crying if hit with a super effective move. I don’t really see a need to say anything else about him, as he’s a standard. ____________________________________________________________________________ Pokemon terminology- These are some common vocabulary that you should be aware of as a competitive pokemon battler. Walls/Tanks- These refer to pokemon that have high HP and Defense/Special defense. They can take hits well and provide support for your team. Special walls- These pokemon can take special hits better than physical hits. Some examples are Blissey, Empoleon, and Snorlax Physical walls- These pokemon can take physical better than special hits. Some examples are Hippowdon, Rhyperior, and Skarmory Sweepers- These pokemon are your main attackers. They basically attack other sweepers/walls and try to faint them in the process. Physical sweepers- These pokemon have more physical attacks and a much higher physical attack stat. Some examples are Gyarados, Tyranitar, and Mamoswine Special sweepers- These pokemon have more special attacks and a much higher special attack stat. Some examples are Starmie, Gengar, and Azelf Wall Breakers/ mixed sweepers- These pokemon carry a mix of both physical and special attacks and hit the weaker stat of walls to take them down. Some examples are Mixnape(Infernape), Mixnite(Dragonite) and Mixmence(Salamence) Revenge killers- Pokemon that you send out after your current pokemon faints to kill your opponents current pokemon. Pokemon with high speed usually make the best revenge killers. Some examples are Scarftran, Dugtrio, and Weavile. Well that’s it folks. Good luck building teams but make sure you follow this guideline. I will keep editing with more information later. ____________________________________________________________________________ Edited by Flame_Blader1, Jan 31 2010, 08:02 PM.
