Omalley stood leaning against the laboratories wall, his back pressed against the rough stonework as he stared up into the sky, silently watching the clouds as they drifted lazily through the clear blue sky. He had stood there for a good twenty minutes, trying to work up the courage to head inside and collect his first pokemon, he had his bag slung over one shoulder, ready to hold all his things, all he needed now was the pokemon themselves. After a few more moments he sighed heavily to himself and pushed off from the wall, stepping back onto the path and heading round to the steps leading up to the lab's entrance. He took a deep breath and thought to himself "Well they arent going to collect themselves are they..." and knocked on the glass doors, peering through to see if there was anybody waiting inside. |

Professor Redwood made his way over to the main doors of the Lab, before flinging them open, seeing another Trainer standing the other side. "Hello, please come in!" He beamed, encouraging the trainer inside, "I guess you're here to choose your first Pokemon. Well, you have two choices : You can choose two small boxes from the pile on the left, or one from the pile on the right," The Professor said, indicating the two piles of small boxes near the back of the lab, "I'm sure you'll make a good choice." As soon as the Professor stopped talking, his little Shinx sprinted out from under his desk and ran straight over to the Trainer, but had to skid to a stop as his paws didn't get enough grip on the laminated floor, only stopping a few inches away from the trainer. |

Omalley glanced down at the little shinx, smiling nervously as it slid across the floor on its paws. He had a choice then? One pokemon or two... Well really two would be more beneficial, besides, it would give a much more interesting start to his journey. "Well, i think ill take the two if that's alright?" he asked the professor, carefully stepping round the shinx and walking up to the boxes. Selecting one at random he pulled it towards him and took a breath before flicking it open and looking at the two pokeballs inside. |

"That is perfectly fine. I hope you'll find friends in whatever you choose." The Professor smiled, picking up his Shinx before it treated the floor as an Ice Skating Rink, "As you are just starting off, you will need this." He said, putting the electric type back down on the oak table, and picking up an A4 sized box. "In here is all you'll need to start your journey : PokeBalls and a Potion. If you ever need your Pokemon healing, just come back here. I'd be happy to get your Pokemon back to full strength." |

He took the offered box and dropped it into his own bag, resolving to look at them later on. He looked back to the two pokeballs in front of him and pulled them out of their case. He pressed the buttons on their fronts, causing the balls to split open in a flash of brilliant white light, which resolved into two distinct forms. The first, a small dark green dinosaur with a single horn sprouting from its head, tear shaped markings around its eyes and a small fan like tail, shook itself as it materialized on the floor, looking around curiously as its new partner appeared next to it. This pokemon was a dark blue colour, almost black, with a cream underbelly and a long nose. Its eyes were narrowed into slits which gazed first at the trainer standing over them and then to the dinosaur next to him. Abrubtly it sneezed and a burst of flames roared into life from the red vents on its back, causing the dinosaur to back away in suprise as Omalley laughed out loud, crouching down to their level. "I know what you guys are... You," he said as he reached out his hand to the miniature dino "are a Larvitar, and you are a Cyndaquil" he said as he gently stroked the pokemons soft fur, enjoying the heat radiating from it. "Well Im sure glad i did come in here, this ought to prove alot more interesting that i thought. You guys happy to come with me?" The two pokemon glanced at each other and nodded, walking forwards to the crouching trainer and clambering up his arms, Larvitar dropping into his bag whilst Cyndaquil perched on Omalley's shoulder, causing him to break into an even larger smile. Turning he thanked the professor and retrieved the poke balls from the floor, dropping them into his bag alongside Larvitar and walking back to the doors, his mood much lighter, with his new pokemon at his side. |
