Rate My Team Rules / Guidelines

For Team Posters:
Remember that all rules are up to the complete discretion of the staff.

1) Post In The Correct Format

It is expected that all Pokemon are listed in a similar format. If they weren't, it would be impossible for everyone to understand. The format we use here at Poke Ten Kaisen Forums is as follows:

Quote:

Pokemon @ Item
Nature:
Ability: (If Needed)
EVs:
IVs: (If Needed)
- Move
- Move
- Move
- Move

[Descrpition]

Name, Item, Nature, EVs and all 4 moves are mandatory.

All Pokemon must have a detailed descriptions of what role or what it contributes to your team. Just posting 6 Pokemon without any descriptions is meaningless to raters. If you put a Pokemon on your team, then there is for a good reason, so mention that reason. The same goes for EVs and Movesets. For example, raters will want to know why you're running Hidden Power [Grass] on your Lucario or why you are running 128 Speed EVs on your Dugtrio.

Below is an example of this format and what we are looking for in terms of descriptions, courtesy of Rad3n. Keep in mind that slight variations are acceptable; so long as they are clear and legible.

  • Having one-line or meaningless descriptions will result in your thread being locked. Examples of unwanted descriptions are: "Special Sweeper" or "Standard Shaymin".
  • Do not post your team in different font sizes or text colors, Gigantic font is annoying and small font makes it difficult for people to read what you are typing. Some colors are not so easy on the eyes with the forum's layout. So please refrain from altering the text altogether.
  • Your team will be more likely to get more rates if it is aesthetically pleasing, but a picture is not absolutely necessary. Though it will make your look more well thought out and may encourage people to rate it, so it doesn't hurt to at least put some in.

2) No Incomplete Teams/ Movesets

No incomplete EVs/movesets/etc under any circumstance. If you need help with that, take a gander through our Competitive Battling Analysis Archive. This also applies to teams, they must be complete, as in have all 6 members.

3) Post What Rules And/Or Metagame Your Team Is Intended For

Most raters will automatically assume your team is for the Standard OU metagame, unless you state otherwise. If your team is going to be played under specific clauses/ rules, or in a Doubles, 3 vs. 3, or 4 vs. 4 match, or under the Smogon UU tier list, Ubers or even the Little Cup metagames, then don't forget to mention that in the thread title. Some people prefer to rate these types teams or are more knowledgeable in that realm, by stating what special metagame/rules/ clauses/ matches your team will be taking part in, you will be more to attract the attention of those people.

However there are limits as to what type of special teams will be tolerated. Some Teams [to be continued]

4) Expect To Be Criticised

It is expected that when you post in this forum, you are prepared to take criticism. If someone posts advice that you disagree with, you are free to ignore it. This doesn't give you permission to attack the person who gave you the advice. If responding, clearly state why you made your choice over their suggestion.

5) All Regular Forum Rules Apply

As with all threads and posts in the Forums, you must follow all the normal Forum Rules when posting. Which include, but not limited to: bumping, double posting, posting inappropriate material, trolling/ flaming/ bashing etc.

Failure to comply with these rules will likely result in your thread being locked and being issued an infraction by the staff.

- Special Thanks to Rad3n
