_m3dic_ Posts: 1,554 Group: Head Admin Member #6 Joined: Jan 17, 2008	I'm going to be the first to break this bit of news to everyone, but after a couple of talks, I've come to an important decision regarding PP's future. No, I'm not going to close the site down. It's actually much worse George came to me and proposed a compromise. BB is suffering from activity. So is PP. So is RFIII, Jake's forum. And so is Nightvision, Izzac's forum. In order to bring a little zing to this so far dull summer, we'll be merging onto a new, separate board which shall be revealed either on Saturday or Sunday, depending on how fast we get stuff set up. Both Shaun and Adrian have been consented and they're in favor of the switch. I know this may come as a shock to some of y'all, but rest assured, PP isn't going anywhere. I'm going to leave this forum open for anyone who still wishes to look around and whatnot. I myself will be going to the new forum as I've been given joint ownership along with the three other guys. This post is in preparation of the merge which will take effect during the weekend to a bigger, and hopefully better, forum site. I hope I have everyone's back on this. ~Xepher

Can't say I'm happy at all. I'll sum up my opinion with one statement: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Four people running a forum is a god-awful idea. Disagreements will happen, and they will happen often. Once again, I hate to be negative, but I think things won't work out and we'll end up right back here. The summer is always going to be a little dry. The weather is nice, people are on vacation, etc. When summer ends and people have nothing to do on weekends, activity will pick up. Until then, I think it would be wise to just stay here and think of things to keep the board active. Taking the easy way out and merging might not be the right idea.

We only had about three good days where everyone was posting, and that was all when I barely reopened the site. I know how things turned out back then, but I can assure you that things won't be the same as they were last time around. This time, it's a little different. Instead of everyone merging onto one of the boards that are already up, we're all going to migrate to a brand new one. If things don't pan out in the end, we can just withdraw and return back over here. It's no big deal. It's like if we're testing the waters to see if we can get somewhere. Each of the sites is going to have their own section for things. Our Pokemon section, Izzac's graphics section, and Jake's RP section. BB is useless, like always =P There's just going to be more people around to talk to, which can be more good than bad. But like I said... I'm pretty sure I'm not going to close THIS forum down. I'm going to leave it open, but I'm gonna focus more over on the new site in hopes of posting in an active forum. What good is it for me to post on here when no one else will be active?

Absolutely amazing Posts: 777 Group: Global Moderators Member #7 Joined: Jan 17, 2008	I'll explain why I'm in favor of this. First off, both of our last merges were us going to them. In this case, its all of us creating a new board, a 4 way leadership. If something fails, we simply return here, no issues, no problem. We didn't have alternatives before, it was simply "You will go here goddamn it and you will like it". Each forum is equal and distinct. No one is sharing space from someone else. We have a fallback plan (here), all the admins are equally powerful, there really isn't an issue. The only potential issue I can foresee is head admin, which I'd suggest just being a dummy account that the admins all have access to. Plus Zero was a tard anyways, and the BB/PP merger was just bad timing. We all have something major to gain from this.

Merges usually fail and everyone ends up taking sides and getting butthurt when there is a disagreement. You guys can give it a shot but I'll be staying here.

I know a lot of you are feeling this merge isn't going to work, but the way things are going we couldn't really not take advantage of the opportunity.
