Neverused Stall

Background Information

Hi everyone. I have been playing around with some NU Tier teams. There seems to be a lot of aggressive teams, so I decided to make a stall based team. It functions around entry hazards and toxic to stall out the opponent. Being as there aren't a ton of people playing NU it is hard to get a lot of play testing done so once I play test more and more I will of course be making changes to the team. All changes will be big and red

Team Overview

In Depth

Posted Image
Gligar @ Leftovers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Nature: Jolly
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 252 HP / 4 Defense / 252 Speed
~ Taunt
~ Stealth Rocks
~ Roost
~ Earthquake

Bibarel is my lead. In the NU Tier it is the fastest Pokemon that can use both Taunt and Stealth Rocks. If I predict that the opposing lead will use an non attacking move and I am faster, I will Taunt. Otherwise I will use Stealth Rocks. Focus Sash is there so I have at least one turn to set up Stealth Rocks, and hopefully another turn to Super Fang or Waterfall.

Hippopotas @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Impish
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
~ Roar
~ Toxic
~ Knock Off Yawn
~ Earthquake

Hippopotas’ role is to set up a sandstorm and then spread as much havoc as possible before being KOed. Roar is to phase out any thing that is going to set up, Toxic is to make the opponent switch (and it will be useful later in the stall), Knock off it to have the opponent lose any item it has. Finally, if no other options are helpful I can use Earthquake

Cloyster @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
Nature: Impish
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 252 HP / 4 Defense / 252 Special Defense
~ Spikes
~ Toxic Spikes
~ Rapid Spin
~ Surf

Cloyster acts as my spiker and rapid spinner. I switch him in on a physical attack (or when one of my Pokemon is Koed) and I either Rapid Spin entry hazards away or use spikes to set up entry hazards for the opponent. Cloyster acts as a great physical wall with its massive defense. Surf is my last resort to get any open Kos or if I’m taunted and don’t want to switch.

Regice @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
Nature: Calm
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 Special Defense
~ Ice Beam
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk
~ Thunderbolt

Regice acts as a foil to Cloyster. While Cloyster is a great physical wall, Regice is the special wall. Rest and Sleep Talk combo allows for more durability while still being able to use STAB Ice Beam and Thunderbolt for type diversity.

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Ability: Gluttony
Nature: Impish
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 252 HP / 128 Defense / 128 Special Defense
~ Encore
~ Rest
~ Toxic
~ Knock Off

Shuckle acts as both a physical and special wall. Encore will trap an opponent into an unfavorable move while Toxic and Knock Off spread havoc. Rest is there for when Shuckle’s already low HP gets too low and his survivability is threatened.

Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Careful
Ivs: All 31
Evs: 252 HP / 120 Defense / 136 Special Defense
~ Toxic
~ Recover
~ Taunt
~ Seismic Toss

Sableye is my Rapid Spin Blocker. Toxic spreads more status, Recover helps Sableye survive, Taunt prevents the opponent from setting up, and Seismic Toss does decent damage.

Final Look

Like I said before, this team will be going under more play testing so it is subject to change. Let me know if you are interested in play testing or want a NU battle. Thanks a lot!

teh nucleur shuckle! (force of habit)

I've never played NU so I really couldn't help you here. I will say the team looks pretty good though.

I could be wrong here, but I thought entry hazards weren't as big as a threat outside OU.

22:40 <semianonymous>: it should be the other way around
22:40 <semianonymous>: if you produce more

Thanks Shaun :)

And as for the entry hazards, one of the reasons that many NU Pokemon are NU is because of Stealth Rock, an entry hazard
