Ever since Pokemon first came out for the Game Boy, Pokemon have been given their own little sound bytes, their 'cry' as they're called, that are heard when they enter or are KO'ed in battle.

Even now the pokemon still have their short little cries, but over the generations, they've gotten much more unique. I'll be honest, I've always thought the cries were interesting, and there are actually some pokemon that I began to like simply because I thought their cry sounded neat.

What pokemon cries do you think are cool, and are there any that you think are not so cool?

It should also be pointed out that in the first and second generations, the first in particular, there are several pokemon's cries that are very similar. They've since been completely individualized.

Always thought Dialga's was unique. Empolion's was loud. I also noticed that the older ones sound more...mechanic? robotic? anyway, and the newer ones sound more real.

I don't really care for them lol... but I've played the games for so long that I can recognize a Pokemon cry and tell which Pokemon it is xD

Yea, Chatot. And only if it has its Chatter move or whatever its called. I think it says its cry when using Chatter too. Confuses all poke'mon on the opposing side.

I like Frosslass in particular. As for old poke'mon, Charizard had a distinct cry that I remember. And the Cleffairy family had one I always remembered.

I love Chatot's original cry. Don't know why, just do.

I think the 4th Generation has brought about some interesting and cool cries. Moreso than the older generations, of course in the older generations the cries seemed much simpler, to the point where some pokemon have nearly identical ones, now they're all different and unique.

There were still some cool ones from the originals, though. I always have liked Parasect/Mewtwo's. They basically have the same cry, just one is higher pitched.

And of course there's Jynx, who still holds the title for the longest pokemon cry, I believe. There are a lot more that come close, but I think hers is still the longest.

4th gens took full advantage of the hardware it had, and made some very interesting and unique cries. I was highly disappointed that they haven't updated the cries for the 1st-3rd gen pokemon though, they sound so awkward with their 8 bit synths during DS-powered music. I mean, come on, they can do better than that.

Also Rhyhorn and Charizard have the same cry. This must be fixed.

I like Mewtwo's cry. Also, Rattatas.

That, Swinub/Houndour, Poliwag/Ditto, Growlithe/Machoke, Omanyte/Machop, and probably one or two more pairs that I'm forgetting.

Omanyte doesn't suit Machop. I think they should say their names. :)
