This is my all-star team since diamond and pearl. I have beaten all 8 gyms and the pokemon league.

As far as in-game teams, you don't need to do a thing. The game allows you to create a team of whatever Pokemon and still pass the game lol If you're planning on taking on the Battle Frontier with this team, I gotta tell you that you should change some stuff around. A LOT of stuff. |

You might have a chance with the first couple of rounds, but the trainers get a lot harder. I don't expect you to get far at ALL. The truth hurts, buddy =P |

Something is rather sick about that Kadabra. Nintendo needs to develop an in-game, pokemon version of the RSPCA so I can report that. |

For normal in game your original team is fine. However for Battle Frontier and more so online battling you should make some improvements. Some Pokemon should be moved out for other ones to balance out your team and improve it's overall performance but here are some good sets for the Pokemon you have chosen Infernape @ Focus Sash Ability: Blaze Nature: Naive (+ Speed, - Special Defense) EVs: 64 Attack / 252 Special Attack / 192 Speed ~ Fake Out ~ Stealth Rock ~ Close Combat ~ Fire Blast This should be your new lead. Use Fake Out first turn for a little bit of damage to break any possible Focus Sashes. It is also a priority move that has a 100% to make the opponent flinched. In other words unless the opponent's lead is faster than yours with a priority move of his own, which is very unlikely, you will get a free first turn. Use Stealth Rocks the next turn so you have the best entry hazard in the game in play. Focus Sash prevents you from getting KOed before you can set it up. After this use Close Combat or Fire Blast to do some good damage. Staraptor @ Choice Band Ability: Intimidate Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special Attack) EVs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed ~ Brave Bird ~ Close Combat ~ Return ~ U-Turn Staraptor is now a better physical sweeper. Brave Bird is a good STAB move, as is Return. Close Combat gives you come more power and better type coverage. U-Turn also gives you move type coverage but also lets you switch out and attack on the same turn. The EVs and Adamant nature also help you attacks hit harder and faster. Alakazam @ Choice Specs Ability: Synchronize Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack) EVs: 252 Special Attack / 4 Special Defense / 252 Speed ~ Psychic ~ Focus Blast ~ Signal Beam ~ Trick Alakazam is now a good special sweeper. It's nature and EVs boost its speed and special attack. Psychic is a great STAB attack and Focus Blast and Signal Beam give great type coverage. You can do a lot of cool stuff with Trick. If you were to come across something like Tyranitar you can use Trick to switch his helpful Choice Band (something that really boosts his attack) to the unhelpful Choice Specs (which would boost the special attack). You may be KOed by his crunch but you could then easily send in another Pokemon to clean up what Alakazam left behind. Espeon @ Leftovers Ability: Synchronize Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack) EVs: 252 HP / 64 Special Defense / 192 Speed ~ Substitute ~ Calm Mind ~ Baton Pass ~ Psychic This is similar to Alakazam. Both Pokemon are special sweepers but Espeon can set up Alakazam to sweep even better. Substitute helps prevent damage and a bad status effect. Calm Mind raises special attack and special defense so Psychic is more effective. When you are ready Baton Pass over your boosts (and a substitute if there is one left) over to Alakazam to help him sweep better. Togekiss @ Leftovers Ability: Serene Grace Nature: Calm (+ Special Defense, - Attack) EVs: 252 HP / 6 Defense / 252 Special Defense ~ Body Slam ~ Air Slash ~ Roost ~ Nasty Plot Toegkiss is another special sweeper / special wall but with a twist. Serene Grace doubles the chance of secondary effects from happening and this set takes advantage of that. Body Slam now has a 60% chance of causing paralysis when it hits your opponent. This makes it is 25% of the time they cannot attack and their speed gets a huge drop. On top of this Air Slash gives you a 60% chance of making the opponent flinch. Before Togekiss can even been attacked the opponent has to get passed these challenges. When they do you have Roost to heal 50% of your HP and temporary remove your weakness to electric, rock, etc. Nasty Plot is a great set up move that increases the power of your Air Slash. Giratina-O @ Griseous Orb Ability: Levitate Nature: Modest (+ Special Attack, - Attack) EVs: 144 HP / 236 Special Attack / 18 Special Defense / 112 Speed ~ Calm Mind ~ Dragon Pulse ~ Thunder ~ Substitute Calm Mind helps you set up for your attack and defense. Dragon Pulse and Thunder are great attacking moves that will do a lot of damage. Finally Substitute will help you avoid status effects. Once again there are a lot of changes that you would need to make in order to make this team more usable to competitive play. For one, Giratina is not allowed in most matches. You also have too many special sweepers. Regardless I hoped that these sets helped you out. |
