According to Serebii, there's going to be a new town near Cianwood. Also, there's a new tower close to Goldenrod's Radio tower.

Maybe one of them has something to do with why Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza appear in the game?

I thought the "second town" next to Cianwood was just an extension of the city. When I saw the map, I thought it looked like a Battle Frontier type of thing. The area was clearly separated into 6 sections =o

As for the tower... I think it'll definitely have to do with Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza. I don't see why there would be another tower lol

I think the extra tower in Goldenrod has something to do with GTS in Johto.

I didn't think they were connected. D: (God, please let me be right.)

Maybe they could have the second tower as an add-on during the rocket takeover. Two towers full of Rockets! It'd never happen but it would be fun.

Isn't Pichu in the forest near Azalea Town? My guess that it's either an addition to the park, or functions the same way as the Pal Park did in DPPt.

The area West of Cianwood looks to me like some form of Battle Frontier esque area. Although...maybe it stretches further out West than the curent map shows and is a new area like the Sevii islands were in FR/LG.

The tower next to the Radiotower looks MUCH larger than any other building in the game...
It also looks like quite a strange structure, shaped like a pyramid. I think it will be a new Team Rocket Building.

The area West of the National park will probably not be like a Pal Park. If you look closely at the map, you can see the new area isn't covered in grass/forest, the ground has been built up.

Anyone have any idea what that weird orange mist is about above Tin Tower? I'd say it was obviously just signifying that Ho-oh was nearby, but it seems strange that they'd give the Tin Tower a weird orange mist but not give the paralell Whirl Islands an icy blue mist for Lugia?

I'm guessing that after you pass the game or something, the mist will clear, revealing a new area. There has to be some mystique lol

Maybe it's like the underground in DPPt, but is a desert? xD

But see, I don't think it will be a new area.

I think it might ruin the mystique of the landscape if they had a new area directly behind the Tin Tower. The Tin Tower should be the pinnacle, there shouldn't be stuff surrounding it in every direction.

Perhaps its a path that leads towards a new area further up and away from the tower? I really don't know, but I do think that mist is hiding something.

@ Matt, I doubt it's desert as there are trees surrounding it on every side.

That golden area above Tin Tower is the type of trees that grow around here. Someone posted on another forum about the idea that, the new place will be called Golden Forest, Mt. Silver's equivalent. It would also work as the place you could battle Blue/Leaf in just like you battle Red in Mt. Silver.

I saw a pic on Serebii of Ho-Ho flying around Tin Tower. Looks like this game may have some cutscenes. :P

Has Kanto been mentioned in the game yet?

Kanto was confirmed.
The area in Cinawood is the safari zone, you can make out 6 different areas for the 6 main area types: Desert, Forest, Meadow, Swamp, Rainforest, mountains.
The Frontier is most likely tucked away where the Olivine Battle tower was, you can see theres a structure there still

Haha! I was thinking something along these lines.

But, if Kanto has been confirmed then surely the Safari Zone would be there. I mean, Johto already has the Bug Catching Contest.
