I'm still deciding, I might go with Chikorita like I did on my original Gold, it is my favorite starter I guess. Totodile seems fun though too, I had a cloned level 100 Feraligatr from my friend in like 1st grade and I loved it.

With starters though I usually compare them with the starters of other generations. I'm a big Blastoise fan, which is why I'm not too keen on Feraligator. And I'd pick Typhlosion, but I prefer Charizard. To me, Meganium is the only johto starter which looks a lot better than the Kanto starter.
