The fourth gen didn't bring out the feelings that the first three gens (and the remake) did. I don't know if it's the nostalgia, or the fact that things in the previous games were just much more simpler...
It could be that you're not use to it being all in 3D. I admit that it did feel weird at first, but after a while I accepted it.
