This is the RMT forum, a place where people will assist you in improving your team. The following are the rules for this forum. 1) Do not post incomplete teams. Make sure to include natures, EV spreads and items. If you're unsure of one of these, simply put a question mark next to the thing you need help with so team raters can assist you. When posting a RMT, there are a couple of things you want to do. Among these are: - use correct grammar - state what generation and tier the team is created for - state if the team is meant for Shoddy Battle or WiFi 2) Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Make sure to include the following: Why is the Pokemon there? How does it help the team? How does it get in? if you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member, then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of that will help team rates give a better rate. 3) Thread title. If your team is something other than the typical Standard team, it is a good idea to include this in the title. Some team raters focus on other metagames such as double battles, UU, or Uber, so including something about this in your title helps to direct them to your thread. 4) Formatting. Make your post readable. If the format is messy and illegible you won't be likely to receive help and may have your thread locked. Adding pictures to your post can make it more attractive. 5) If you are not sure on how to post each Pokemon's set, here's a guideline on how to post each Pokemon. Pokemon @ Item Ability: EVs: Nature: - move - move - move - move You are not required to post the Pokemon's set like this. This is just a guideline to those who are having trouble finding a way to pos each pokemon's set. if you have another way you want to post the pokemon's set, feel free to do so. Remember to keep it neat and organized. 6) Bumping. If no one at all comments on your RMT feel free to bump the thread. After you have bumped your thread once, or after it has been inactive for a certain amount of weeks, do not bump it again unless you are making significant changes. If your thread is locked/deleted, do not re-post it until you have corrected entirely what caused a moderator/administrator to lock/delete. If you are unsure as to why a moderator locked it, feel free to PM them and ask. Once they tell you, fix it and they will re-open it for you. 7) Custom Rules. If you're playing with a different ruleset from the standard, please include this in your RMT. If you are allowing/not allowing the use of pokemon such as Gachomp, include this also. these are the most ommon rules for any battle: -Species Clause: No more than one of the same Pokemon on a team. -Sleep Clause: No two Pokemon may be put to sleep at the same time. -No OHKOs: Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold are all banned. -No Evasion: Double Team and Minimize are banned. 8) It will be greatly appreciated if you put some effort into the presentation of your RMT. Adding pictures can help with this. If you are having trouble finding a source, pictures from Arkeis.com can be used. If you find another site that you would like to use, feel fre to use them. 9) You are allowed to post teams from any generation here. Just make sure to include that somewhere in your RMT or the title. If you are posting gimmick teams, battle tower teams, or in-game teams, make sure to add descriptions and such. These are the following rules for making warstories: Tip No.1 Include an introduction. Please explain what you were doing before you battled the person. Example : "my friend challenged me so he could test his new team". Then, introduce the Pokemon used by both players, but the leading Pokemon must be mentioned first. You can use pokemon sprites to do this. This makes your warstory more attractive to readers. Tip No.2 Commentary, is always the top priority in any warstory. Without commentary, even successfully doing Tip No.1 will still make the warstory boring. Remember, more commentary, less log makes a warstory more interestoing to read. Always use a different color or font for your commentary so it is easier to read. SKIP any boring parts of the log, like 10 stall wars between Blissey vs. Suicune or the CressBliss match up. Tip No.3 At the end of the warstory, put an analysis of the game in general. Was your opponent good? A total noob? Your decision is mentioned in the analysis. What were the good things that happen in the game? What were the bad ones? Did one or two Pokemon screw up or didn't manage to do a thing? This part gives readers your thought about the game, and your opinion about the game, where they can compare their own thoughts with your analysis. You can title this section as Pros and Cons. Tip No.4 Make your commentary as interesting and long as possible, but not going overboard. Short commentary would make the commentary boring and dull. Keeping the scores and probably HP makes the warstory easy to be caught up with. Tip No.5 The title. Make it an interesting title. Be creative and stay original. Tip No.6 The colors. Use different colors for everything. Usually, battle logs are left alone, where your commentary is in another font/color, while the chat-stuff between you and your opponent, or any other watchers should be in different color. This makes the log easier to read. Edited by AbsoluteZero, Feb 17 2009, 04:12 PM.
