Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EVs: 24 Atk / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
~Close Combat
~Fire Blast/Flamethrower
~Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock
~Grass Knot

Mixape, the original mixed sweeper. This acclaimed set was one the greatest threats to the Diamond and Pearl metagame in the early days of competitive battling, its unprecedented type coverage and the ability to break some of the biggest walls of the time such as Skarmory, Blissey, Bronzong and Swampert, as well as troublesome sweeper threats, notably Tyranitar, Salamence, Dragonite, and many others. For the moves, Close Combat is your essential STAB move to send the likes of Tyranitar, Weavile, Blissey and other physical defensively weak threats to an early grave. Fire Blast is generally the preferred option as your second STAB move as you have the ability to 2HKO Cresselia after Stealth Rock damage, though if you find the move's accuracy to be unsavory then Flamethrower is highly acceptable. Hidden power Ice allows you to KO the likes of Salamence, non-Scarfed Flygon, and other Ice weak threats that might come your way, Hidden Power Rock is an option over Ice as it 2HKOs Gyarados, one of your main counters. As for the last move, Grass knot is highly necessary as it OHKOs Swampert with minimal SpDef investment, be aware of the dreaded curse set that allows it Swampert live with 20% after a Grass Knot, it will retaliate with a waterfall, Grass knot is also useful for heavy threats such as Rhyperior.

Lead Ape

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Hasty
EVs: 64 Atk / 252 SpA/ 192 Spe
~Fake Out
~Stealth Rock
~Close Combat
~Fire Blast / Grass Knot / Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock / Hidden Power Electric

A more modern niche for Infernape, the suicide lead set can prove useful for foiling Focus Sashes and getting up stealth rock early on in the game, this set also has the ability to deliver a few powerful blows before it bites the dust. Fake Out is Infernape's first turn priority move that delivers a devastating flinch to an opponent, though they will likely switch out for fear of losing their Focus Sash, it is still a decent option to have on hand. Stealth Rock is this set's main support option, allowing one your walls an extra space in their move set that would have been occupied by Stealth Rock. Close combat is your general STAB move, it hits leads decently hard (provided they don't explode first), and is generally an acceptable move on Infernape. The final slot on Infernape's set has quite a wide array of options before it, Fire Blast gives you a secondary STAB move and is quite effective in utilizing Infernape's Blaze ability once the Focus Sash is triggered. Grass Knot is an option for obliterating Swampert, a common switch in on the lead set. Hidden Power Ice is useful for taking down Salamence, another common lead Infernape switch in. Hidden Power Rock counters Gyarados coming in to set up on you, as under normal circumstances it would have that capability to do just that. Hidden Power Electric is another defense against Gyarados, as well as 2 other main counters of Infernape's, Starmie and Tentacruel.

EndeavorApe

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Hasty
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
~ Stealth Rock
~Endeavor
~Vacuum Wave
~Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock

A rendition of the above lead set, can cause major damage and guarantees at least 1 KO per usage provided that the opponent is not ghost-typed and that there is no weather in effect. Stealth Rock is a nice option as it gets entry hazard support up early on, this would be the move you would use while you take the hit that will maximize Endeavor's power. Endeavor, the staple of this set, draws more power the lower that the user's HP is, so simply wait till you take a hit that would activate your Focus Sash and then Endeavor away! Vacuum Wave is your priority move, essential for finishing off the opponent as it would be left at 1 HP thanks to Endeavor. The final slot is once again a word of possibilities, Fire Blast gives you a strong STAB move, made even stronger with Blaze in effect, and Flamethrower is an option for better accuracy. Hidden Power Ice can strike down incoming Dragons. Hidden Power Rock can deal with Gyarados, though it will likely stay where it's safe as endeavor would compromise Gyarados' playability.

Swords Dance Ape

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
~Swords Dance
~Fire Punch / Flare Blitz
~Close Combat
~Stone Edge

A purely physical turn on Mixape, the Swords Dance set can prove devastating, the fierce use of Infernape's strong STAB moves can prove the user victorious in many situations with this set, simply make sure Swampert and Scarfed Heatran are dealt with and sweep away! The moves are rather straightforward, Swords Dance to boost your already formidable attack stat. Fire Punch would be the preferred choice for your Fire-typed STAB move, but Flare Blitz is an option if you want to hastily activate your ability. Close Combat is your main STAB move and general instrument of destruction. Stone edge is to deal with Flying-types such as Gyarados and Salamence.

Mixed Swords Dance Ape

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EVs: 24 SpA / 232 Atk / 252 Spe
~Swords Dance
~Fire Punch/ Flare Blitz / Fire Blast
~Close Combat
~Hidden Power Electric / Hidden Power Rock / Grass Knot

A slightly different turn on the preceding set that can throw many opponents off as they see Swords Dance and then they switch to counter to standard Swords Dance Infernape, all of which can be countered by this set. Swords Dance is a staple for this set, raising your attack stat and improving general sweeping ability in the physical spectrum. Fire Punch in once again a preferred option for the Swords Dance set, but note that a special based STAB move could prove as a useful option here. Close Combat is your primary attacking move. Hidden Power Electric is an OHKO on 84 HP / min SpDef Gyarados after Stealth Rock damage. Hidden Power Rock is useful if you want to score a super effective hit on both Gyarados and Salamence, both notable counters for a Swords Dance set. Grass Knot is an option to hit Swampert harder.

Scarf Ape

Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EVs: 64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
~Close Combat
~Fire Blast
~Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Rock
~U turn / Grass Knot

A revenge killing turn on Infernape, allows you to outspeed and KO several revenge killing threats such as Scarfed Salamence, Flygon, and Heatran. With the sacrifice of Life Orb, the EV spread has been edited to score solid 2HKOs on threats that under other circumstances would have been OHKOs; I speak of Swampert, Blissey and Heatran. Close Combat is your first STAB move and Infernape's means of hurting Blissey, Heatran and other threats weak to Fighting-types. Fire Blast is preferable in this situation, seeing as Infernape has no Life Orb, or +SpA nature, more power is essential. Hidden Power Ice is recommended for the ability to KO scarfed Dragons that can without a doubt put a dent is near any team, though Rock-typed Hidden Power is usable for Gyarados coverage, though it is a 3HKO with rocks down at best. U turn is a decent option to prevent entrapment and to escape while still inflicting damage. Grass Knot is usable over U turn if you are concerned about Swampert, but it is recommended that you have another Pokemon on your team that is capable of scoring a KO on Swampert.

Other Choices

ThunderPunch is a usable option over Grass Knot on the Mixape set to hit Starmie, Tentacruel and Gyarados upon switch in, all of the aforementioned threats are 2HKOed by ThunderPunch, though sacrificing Swampert coverage provided by Grass Knot is not worth the coverage of ThunderPunch.

Calm Mind is an option on a Bulky set, though seeing as Infernape's Defenses are subpar; it is overlooked for Nasty Plot.

Slack Off, another option for a bulky set, though with Infernape's semi-low defenses and weakness to common moves such as Earthquake, & Surf hndering Infernape.

Counter can be used as an alternative for Endeavor, sadly this move only works once and thus it is cast aside for endeavor as it does not depend on damage inflicted to be effective.

Blaze Kick is an option over Fire Punch, though the only monopoly it has over Fire Punch is 10 base power, this is evened out due to Blaze Kick 90 base accuracy.

Earthquake is a usable option on various sets to counter Tentacruel, but it is generally overshadowed By Stone Edge's coverage of Gyarados.

Counters

Tentacruel is the main counter to Mixape, and Infernape in general as long as it lacks Earthquake. Resisting both of Infernape's STAB moves as well as a large amount of it's usable movepool, Tentacruel can easily set up on, or simply KO a wide array of Infernape sets.

Starmie can easily switch into any of Infernape's moves not named Grass Knot, ThunderPunch or Stone Edge. Starmie can force any Infernape to switch out and continue to deliver an attack to the incoming pokemon, Rapid Spin away Stealth Rock and spikes, or whatever else you please. Gyarados is another solid counter to Infernape, resisting both of its STAB moves like both of the above counters, Gyarados can easily set up on Infernape before striking it down.

What about the EVs and Natures section? I didn't see any errors but one, it was a BB code error
Code:

you put u] instead of [u]
I used the code otherwise it wouldn't show up.

Yes, but the way to propperly copy an article is to give credit to the writer if he is absent, I do believe that I have a right to be irritated.
