Lunar Eclipse Pictures

Rule #1: When dealing with bare metal, such as camera tripods, always wear gloves.

Rule #2: Make sure to hit the correct button when taking the picture, rather than the power button because it's too dark to see.


Once past these obstacles, I got some reasonable pictures, given my lack of experience with astrophotography and my unspecialized equipment. These were taken with a digital camera and nothing else, no fancy lenses or telescopes involved.

Yesterday's eclipse was the last total lunar eclipse until 2010. If you didn't get to see the real thing, hope you like the pictures!
