Considering the scale that I intend to see this site grow to and the various topics that can be discussed here, there is almost a guarantee that there will be debates. So, what is the difference between a debate and an argument? It is a thin line. An argument degenerates into mudslinging, insulting, name calling, flaming and/or NO YOU!s. It is anything that is generally going to be discouraging to a positive atmosphere. The site's No Argument policy will end in the topic being closed down. Repeat offenders risk suspension. If you're in a debate and you're getting angry, the best thing to do is walk away! PM a moderator or other appropriate staffer to report anything untoward. |
