This will be the easiest question for me to answer. Once upon a time there was this french cartoon with a vaguely anime-esque style of art. It was called Code Lyoko and involved mainly five kids wandering about the "virtual" world, including the Web. In the story, the big band of the time were the subsonics, who were later forced to change their name to the Subdigitals. Despite catching only bits and pieces of their music at a concert or two and in certain dorm rooms, the creators had a whole album planned.

Which they then put out, once in English and once in French.

Planet Net is a song by this fictional band that talks of using the internet to connect people from all around the world.

That's my explanation for the name.

Planet Net is an embodiment of the message of that song. I really want to unite people from all different countries and walks of life on this site. Call me stupid if you will, but I believe the song has a good point. We can be connected to people from all over the world. What in the heck is going on with all this negativity. This is a place where people can come and ethnocentrics and racists and anyone practicing any other type of prejudice can kindly stay away.

So what's my hope for Planet Net? Bring together people from all over the world and make some friends.
