Eun cautiously looked around as she approached the location marked on her map. This was the place she was told that she could have a new weapon forged, but having only been told that, she had no idea how to go about actually getting the weapon. Apparently a rusty pitchfork upgraded into a spear, so that was what she had been told to get; well, that much she didn't really mind. She had even gone so far as to look up some examples and draw out a simple design of her own, given that they can apparently make it from scratch. If she could only figure out where in this area she was supposed to go. It probably didn't help that she kept her eyes at street level, trying to avoid eye contact with any of the people in the area. She hated this area. Either way though, she was now stuck. She was definitely in the area that was marked 'Kaneshiro Metalworks' for her, but she didn't want to wander aimlessly while searching for the actual place. So, hoping someone who worked there would hear her, she gave off a strained cry. "Hello? Is Kaneshiro-san here?" |

The front room of the forge was mostly silent. The only persistent sounds being the echo of the clock ticking down on the wall, and the noise of Hideki's fingers tapping at the keyboard of the desktop computer. Maining the front desk didn't just mean twiddling one's thumbs and waiting for customer to arrive, Hideki had to organize previous orders, existing order, make sure they were all in order and with no mistake, etc. Simple desk job, but a desk job that demanded absolutely 0 errors, lest he wants to feel Noriko's grumpy glare practically pass through the walls and aim at his head. And it definitely didn't help that through it all, he still has to wear Noriko's ridiculous apron. It made him wonder if Mizune was actually playing a prank on her. Or even him, Mizune was hard to read a times. And this time around, the silence of the front room was interrupted by a shout outside. A shout that managed to penetrate through the city noise, and reach his ears, causing Hideki to pause his routine. Was that someone calling for Noriko? Was it possibly business related? Well, if it was Noriko, it was most likely business related. But if they had to shout, that meant that they were most likely lost. He knew that getting out with an apron like this would be pretty awkward, but missing out a potential costumer was definitely bad for business. And bad for him. So, gathering his courage, Hideki stood up and walked towards the main door, and peeked out, trying to see the source of the shouting. "Aaah, yes?" He said out loud, his head turning in all directions. If Eun wasn't convinced that he might be inside where she needs to be, well, she might be able to make out the word 'Noriko' in his apron. Colored pink. Written in non-japanese cursive. And with tiny flower images decorated around it. That was some funky working uniform. |

While the front of the shop was quiet, the actual forge was anything but. The usual din helped keep Noriko's mind clear as she worked on her ever-growing list of projects. Opening business to Persona-users had given her an unforeseen new line of work that she had to think about. Add that to the new possibilities of being able to forge with her Persona magic and the blacksmith had quite a lot to keep her busy as of late. Now if only she had a copy of herself that could help balance the workload a bit... After a particularly strong hammer strike against an obstinate piece of scorching-hot steel, Noriko leaned up and wiped the sweat from her brow. The red light wired to the front door went off which most likely meant that a new customer had come in, or that Tachibana was up to something else again. There weren't any delivery orders ready at the moment so the former was much more likely. "Whatever it is, he can handle it" Noriko resigned to herself. With that little break out of the way, Noriko went back work with keeping the lights to Kaneshiro Metalworks on. |

Eun turned at the sound of a voice, coming from one building behind her. She first noticed the boy's head, not recognizing it herself but figuring that since he answered the call he must work for the forge. Probably the 'Hideki' person she had heard about... but she'd ignore what she'd been told about him and make her own judgment on him. Which happened rather quickly when she noticed what he was wearing. It took a good bit of self control to keep herself from laughing on the spot, but managed to keep her reaction to a smile. Probably a good thing. Did he love his boss that much, or was he simply forced to wear that thing? Either way, that was one image she wasn't forgetting anytime soon. But there were more important matters to attend to. However, she didn't want to speak freely while out in the open. "Ah, uh, yes, I uh... I was told by Naoki-san that Kaneshiro-san could make me... uh, something that I need. May I come in?" she asked, focusing her eyes on the boy's forehead. Normally she'd let her eyes drift down to avoid his eyes, but she was afraid of losing control and bursting into laughter if she let that happen, so she managed to steel herself for the sake of not insulting the people who were about to make her an instrument of death; she'd prefer it to be used on shadows, not herself. |

Naoki? Oh, this must be the contact Naoki mentioned when he gave him the contact info for Noriko. At a mere glance, he was a bit ambivalent about someone like her being another User in need of a weapon, but then again, all he needed to do was look at a mirror to see what 'Persona User material' isn't. Choosing to nullify any sense of judgement, he spoke up. "Ah, I see. Yeah, come in." He said, beckoning at her as he moved back inside. Once inside, Hideki went ahead to the main desk, as he started writing something on the computer. "Alright... we have a fine selection of craft that you can ask for. The more complex the order, the more it will cost you." He said, as he turned back to her, with one hand going under the desk to grab a measuring tape. "Do you have anything in mind? You don't need to name me an item if you don't know it, you can just tell me what you require to do with it." |

In-between hammer strikes Noriko heard two different voices going over familiar territory on setting up orders. Not that she could hear them too well among the din of her work, but she had given the exact same speech and questions so many times she could probably do it in her sleep. In fact, her mother had once told her that she had heard Noriko doing that exact thing years ago...Tch, what does mother know though? She was probably relieved that I could do such a thing because it meant that she wouldn't have to work as hard to keep the shop running. Noriko thought dismissively. She shook her head after that. Such thoughts were just going to interfere with her work. Just as long as Tachibana remembers to take their measurements... |

Eun nodded at Hideki and followed him inside, slightly reassured by how he took her uncertain question in stride. He seemed used to it, so that meant she was either in the right place or a very, very wrong place. As he began his explanation, though, her thoughts leaned towards the former. At the word of cost, she wasn't too worried - she had a good bit of allowance saved up, so as long as they didn't completely rip her off she'd be fine - but at his question of whether she had anything in mind, her hand immediately shot into her pocket. From it she pulled what appeared to be a hand drawn image, something she had come up with after a good amount of research... and, admittedly, video game playing. "Would this be feasible?" she asked, handing the drawing to Hideki. The drawing depicted a weapon that looked similar to a spear with a kama yari type blade, but with modifications made to the horizontal blades. On the left side, it was slightly shortened, widened, and had three points as opposed to the usual one, all which seemed to meld into the next just before reaching the base of the weapon. The right side blade was replaced altogether, instead bearing an outwardly curved blade that extended from the lower quarter of the main blade to what seemed to be a few inches into the handle. She hoped it wouldn't be overkill, but when trying to come up with something, she had thought about how limited her current pitchfork was, and wanted something a lot more versatile. This was what she'd come up with; now it was time to see if it could actually be made. Edited by Chidarake, Apr 7 2018, 08:09 AM.

There was a quick blink when her hand moved to her pocket as soon as he finished. Could it mean that she had something to guide Noriko towarss what Eun wanted? Or perhaps she was going to get out whatever payment method she had? Turns out it was the former, as the paper was given to him. "Ah, let me see..." He said, as his eyes landed on the image. At first he identified it as some sort of spear, but as he paid close attention, he noticed that it didn't look like any regular spear. There was a blade next to the spear, did that mean she wanted a halberd? And what is that other thing at the other side? Eun might notice a look of confusion, as he tried to make sense of the picture. Well, it didn't look 100% normal, but it didn't look too complex either. "... Yes, this does look feasible. Then again, we at Kaneshiro Metalworks are capable of delivering a product of excellent quality, no matter the order, as long as the payment is correct." He said, not recognizing the origin of the design. There a soft tone in his voice despite practically blurting out typical salesman rhetoric at Eun. It did help that she didn't point out his ridiculous apron, which made him be more at ease as well. As he spoke, his hand suddenly reappeared, holding a measuring tape. "If you don't mind, I'll have to take your measurements if it's gonna be for, personal use." It was then when his composure started to falter a bit, as he seemed to still not get used to measuring people. It was the closeness that it entailed, and it made him a bit uneasy. "... Oh, right, I should ask, would this be used for ceremonial purposes or not? Differences would include weight, materials used, and cost." |

Eun sighed in relief as Hideki accepted her design, but the questions immediately after caused her eyes to widen slightly, especially the part about measurements. "It's, uh... It's for, uh, practical use, so... if possible could you, uh, make the handle retractable? So it can, be, uh, hidden easier..." she said, trying not to sound like she was going to walk around stabbing people in the face with it. Also, with no idea what kind of measurements needed to be taken, she really wanted to avoid it if possible. Though, it made sense to get her arm length and height if it came down to making the handle... Yeah, that had to be all it was. It's not like she was getting tailored clothes. So, after a moment, she held her arm out sideways. "But yeah, uh... measurements. G-go ahead..." she said, keeping an eye on Hideki's hands. |

Putting the measuring tape on the desk, Hideki then pulled a small book and a pen, and brgan writing what could be assumed to be Eun's order. "Practical use..." He muttered, as he wrote that down, as well as the other points. "Retractable? got it..." If she was able to make his oen spear collapsible, he was sure a retractable one would be easy peasy. After all, Noriko is good at handling spears. And once his writing was done, he took the tape, and existed the front desk. Eun was already getting into position by extending her arms, which at lrast made him feel a bit more at ease. That meant she knew what he had to do. "Alright... This will just take a second." And with that, he used his other hand to extend the tape. The other hand held the start of the tape, and Eun would feel it pressint her shoulder gently, as Hidekiy carefully unrolled the tape across her arm. Once he reached her fingertips, he obeserved the tape attentively, before muttering a number. "Now, the other arm." It might sound odd, given how it was a given that arms don't have different lengths, but if there was something he needed to be here, was 'throughout'. Noriko wouldn't accept anything else. Pulling the tape away, he moved right next to her and redid the process with her other arm. They seemed roughly the same length, as heard by his muttering. And when that was done, he moved to the front desk and wrote down the results. "Good... Next, I'd need your body height." |
