So Atsuko was his senpai? That definitrly surprised him. While the school hierarchy was something he eas always reminded whenever he put on his second year pin whenever he got dressed for another year of high school, it was also a fact that also had a tendency of escaping him when it came to students outside of Taiyoutono, and seeing how Senjirou was her underclassman made him wonder if he would feel much more ambivalent about being with them. Luckily, it seemingly caused the opposite effect, considering how he didn't as unnerved towards them at all. Or maybe he was just greeting them to be polite. Whatever the case may be, Hideki did a slight bow in return, as Senjirou mentioned why he was there. "'Client'? Are you in the middle of a job?" He caught during his muttering. That was definitely something he could relate to, as his own delivery jobs didn't always go as smoothly. Sometimes he was given the wrong address, or found himself on Senjirou' shoes. Regardless, the topic swiftly change to how crowded Tanjiro could get, something that definitelt caught his interest considering he was also on Senjirou's position. Hideki came from a big city, and while Nagashima is not as big as Osaka, he still never got used to crowded areas. Really, he was mostly here because Atsuko wanted to.come here, and he couldn't say 'no' to a friend. "I could help you with that. Tanjiro is big, but there are patterns and stuff as well, moments of more and less population." He added while Atsuko explained ways for Senjirou to cope with such a public venue. Senjirou might be a stranger, but hey, he wasn't given a reason to help the little guy. Or at least, he seemed little when sitting down. And then Atsuko had a big idea: Letting Senjirou come with them. "Huh, ah," On one hand, he wasn't expecting such a proposal, considering he didn't think Atsuko would be willing to rope the guy in. But on the other hand, it was Atsuko Hiroyuki making that offer, feeling surprised over such a proposal being made only cemented the fact that he hasn't been with her for a while. "I mean, I don't mind, if you don't feel like we would be steering you away from your responsibilities at all." Which would be translated to a 'yes', and placing the weight of the choice unto Senjirou. Would he be willing to hang with the girl with orange hair and the guy with orange eyes? Maybe his daily dosage of vitamin C would be satisfied if he does. |

There was something moving about these two strangers being so considerate and nice to him. Senjiro smiled, his mind wondering for a moment if this was a Nagashima thing or had to do with his own change of attitude, as insignificant as he thought it was. "Impossible," he declared in a faux dramatic manner when Atsuko and Hideki finished giving him their tips, "I have free time for this job at the same time all students have free time." Atsuko and Hideki's presence there, as well as many uniforms moving around them suppoted his words. After saying this he offered an appreciative smile. "But if you can tell me the best times to come that'd be nice, yeah. Thanks." As horrible as Tanjiro was, it seemed something positive always happened to him when he had to go. Lucky! But not soon after Atsuko offered to give him a tour right then, and Senjiro's relaxed smile from before turned a little akward. His gaze wandered to the side, and he raised one hand to scratch his nose, his voice a little lower and rambly. "I dunno. I'm not busy yet really 'cause the client won't call me, but um. Don't want to interrupt your date." He paused a second. "U-um, if it's a date. But if it's not a date I don't want to ruin your um, hangout? I-I mean... um..." His voice trailed off, his eyes returning to look at both teens, unsure. Learning the strategical less crowded places would be useful and -if he was honest with himself- he'd like the company, but he didn't want to make his senpai feel obligated to "rescue" him. The mere thought made Senjiro's brow twitch slightly. Edited by Parorou, Apr 24 2018, 08:57 AM.

Atsuko smiled. "In my opinion, the best times are the earlier hours when the center is open on Sundays and when we're on holidays, and a few hours after everyone got out of school and off of work and before the center closes. Fewer people during both of those times." She explained. It made sense in her mind, the earlier hours meant most people were still sleeping or heading to work, and the later hours meant most people already went home. So, if you wanted to avoid people, come at those times! Of course, Senjiro would have to deal with getting up early or walking home at night, and neither was really a plus in her mind. "D-Date?!" She sputtered. A redness quickly spread across her face. "Chigusa-kun... Hideki-kun and I a-are just friends! I promise!" She laughed but she was really just trying to suppress her embarrassment. Last time someone asked if she and a friend were dating, her Shadow got all annoying and was an asshole again. She didn't need that today. "I wonder why people always think I'm dating someone? Are these the rumors spread about me at school? Sheesh, they could talk about better things, y'know." The only rumor she actually heard was about her and a certain student council VP, but she decided not to focus on that today. She regained her composure and smiled sweetly at Senjiro."Anyway, you wouldn't be interrupting anything like a date, so feel free to come with us." |

"Sometimes when there are events somewhere in the city itself, the shopping tends to be emptier than usual. Those chances are a bit rarer, but they are also an option." He added to Atsuko's list of suggestions. None of them had any real idea of Senjirou's own schedule, so it was better to cover all possible bases. "You are gonna have to watch out for the businesses however, as some might have different active schedules than others. Often that's not exactly the case? But that's just for you to watch out for." However, this all took a sudden turn when Senjirou implied that the two of them were dating. On record time, his face turned completely red, as he let out a "What??" towards his general direction. "Y-Y-Yeah! W-We are just friends!" He clarified, waving his hands as if he was dodging responsibility for a crime. To his surprise, apparently this wasn't an uncommon thing for Atsuko, as she mentioned that this happened with other people as well. "Ah, maybe they just mistake your friendliness with a-affection?" He suggested, trying to turn the topic away from the two of them. Sure, Atsuko was nice and kinda cute, but dating was 100% out of the question. But once things calmed down, he made a nod to punctuate Atsuko's offer. "I doubt you'd ruin our hangout, so don't worry about it." |

He nodded with a low "hm-hm" as he listened. Out of all the suggestions, Sunday mornings sounded like the most convenient to him: Senjiro was a morning person after all. The only thing standing between him and a sure stress-free shopping morning was having to sacrifice one late-browsing weekend night per month to ensure he'd wake up at his usual hour. No problem. As for the other viable option... "I'd have to pay attention to the city events then. Long as they're not right here at the mall," he told Hideki with a relaxed, joking tone. And of course, he had to go and make it all akward by assuming two people were a couple. Again. Senjiro looked away and his face reddened slightly with embarrassment, but fortunately, both teens seemed to get over the misunderstanding quite quickly. Atsuko's choice of words -"promise"?- made him think that she was either trying too hard to deny her feelings for Hideki, or tired and sick of people assuming she was dating every guy she was nice to. Would a Reitaku student wandering right now at the mall think Atsuko was dating both guys at once if Senjiro joined them? This silly idea made him let out a short giggle, and he coughed to cover it before speaking again. "I uh, don't really listen to rumors senpai, it's not that. But that 'opposites attract' thing and all..." Senjiro's voice faded quickly, he probably wasn't helping. "Um, b-but I guess that's why you're friends? Anyway uh. Thanks." There was no body language or sign he could make to indicate he was accepting their offer, at least none that wouldn't require bringing his own attention to the crowd and getting anxious again. So he added, "I only have to make a stop at the manga store but take me wherever, yeah?" |

Atsuko smirked at Hideki. "I think I would rather go to the event rather than the mall during those times. Tanjiro's open every day, those events happen only a few times a year. Why would you go shopping when you can wear a yukata, eat all sorts of delicious food, and hang out with friends and family?" She said. She gained a dreamy look on her face. "I just can't wait for the next festival!" And imagine Chinedu in a yukata! Hestia purred. 'This is the first time you've spoken in a while and that's what you say?! Stop that!' Not allowing her internal struggle with her Persona to be seen by the two boys. She resumed the conversation. She quickly raised an eyebrow at Hideki. "What? How is being nice equal to me wanting relationships?" She asked in a rhetorical manner. Atsuko then turned to Senjiro. "Th-That 'opposites attract' thing is a myth!" She replied. Atsuko quickly regained her composure, again. She smiled sweetly at the two boys. "Well, let us stop by the manga shop before we show you around! Maybe we'll all find something there!" |

"Aha, right, gonna need to watch out for those." He said, trying to smile despite still feeling the shyness of being with a stranger. It was surprising how Senjirou was the one being so chill with them, despite looking rather reserved himself. Maybe he wasn't as lonely as Hideki suspected? Or maybe it was just him being too bashful. "O-Oh yeah, the summer festival will be coming soon, right? I wonder how it goes here in Nagashima." And for once, he'd like to spend the summer festival with someone other than his parents. Their boisterous spirits come to live during such celebration, which definitely made him feel pretty awkward. Maybe today he can try inviting some friends? Perhaps even invite Mari? The thought of her wearing a yukata made his cheeks blush a faint tone of red. But his mind came back to reality right away, as Senjirou's earlier assumption made things get more tense. She raised an eyebrow at him, and he merely shrugged. "I'm, not sure? But Atsuko-san, please don't-" He began, when Atsuko turned back to Senjirou. In a way, he couldn't disagree, as his first relationship was with someone with a less-than-stellar attitude. But correcting Atsuko would just make things worse, so he merely remained silent, looking a bit apprehensive. But then, Senjirou suggested going to the manga shop, which became Atsuko's first stop. "Need to get the lastest number of some series?" |

The boy's eyes widened at Hideki's mention of an upcoming summer festival. Senjiro wasn't one to hang out with other people before coming to Nagashima, and both the teens' words were making him very curious about such an experience. "You're right, Hiroyuki-senpai. Food and fun wins, I'll come Sundays then." Then he commented, "Huh, I was a kid last time I wore a yukata." He paused, contemplating for a moment if he should ask his grandfather for a nice new one just for the ocassion. There was something special about those festive garments, that was for sure: girls loved wearing them, boys loved when they did, and girls loved when boys did too. Senjiro didn't really understand it, but that was how it was. Perhaps he should get one, just for "research" purposes…? Blinking suddenly, the boy stopped his thoughts right there: he had more important things to do than trying to figure out the workings of wooing a girl. Letting that subject aside, Senjiro tilted his head at Atsuko’s rethorical question and declaration of the saying being false; which frankly he had no trouble believing. "Yeah, maybe,” he chuckled, “I think “attraction” also works for uh, friendships. Maybe that’s stupid too, I dunno. Doesn’t matter really, I guess?” He shrugged with a shorter chuckle and then lifted an arm, vaguely pointing at the direction the manga store was at. As usual, Senjiro was trying to avoid taking note of the crowd around him. He kept his gaze either on the floor or his new friends as he walked, looking at Hideki first. "Yeah, the newest Sumapuri…” He then rasped a bit, “Uh, the full name’s Super Mahou Princess Z. Not very popular yet but gotta get it asap uh, just in case,” he explained. “I’m just gonna grab that and be out, don’t worry if you don’t really want to waste time at the store, yeah?” |

"Same here, Chigusa-kun! It's been quite a while!" Atsuko replied. "But I bet we'll look amazing in yukata! Everyone else will be jealous!" She was pretty sure that people would not think that, or care, but she just wanted to be cheerful and hopeful. Granted, she hadn't been to the summer festival in a long time, she really forgot how things worked there. "I would love to tell you, Hideki-kun. But my memory's a little hazy. It's been a long time since I went." She replied. It was understandable that she hadn't been there in a while, seeing how she was sick for a good portion of that time. At least this year, she could go with everyone. Atsuko perked up at the mention of the manga Senjiro was looking for. "Is that a magical girl manga?" She asked. "I love those! Is it a good read? What's it about? Oh, C'mon! Let's get going!" She exclaimed. "We need to hurry there right now! ASAP!" She really didn't leave any time for Hideki or Senjiro to respond, but they would definitely notice that she was more excitable than usual, which was saying a lot, considering the fact that it was Atsuko. Apparently, she really liked magical girls. |

There was a pouty expression on Hideki's face as Senjirou made the mention of getting a yukata. "Maaan, knowing my luck, my parents would put me in a kiddie-like yukata. They are sticklers for tradition, and while I like the color orange, I'm not a kid anymore. I can't be seen wearing a bright yukata." But he would indeed be see, he might even be visible from space, which made him feel rather embarassed. Just for once he'd like to at least wear something appropriate for his age. And then Senjirou mentioned the manga he needed to get. With a title that... sounded like a shoujo manga? He looked at Senjirou with a silent, confused look, wondering if the boy maybe had a little sister that orders him to get her latest mangas. "Ah, uuuh... sure, we can try to find-" He began, before Atsuko got excited over finding this magical girl manga, to the point that she took off immediately to the store. "Oh my. Well, we can't keep her waiting, lets get going." He said, following Atsuko at a slower pace. |
