"Oooh. Really?" She blinked twice with eyes wide. "Well, things didn't end up that well for him, did they?" The guy had managed to piss off two fierce girls in sucession, and the idea made her chuckle. Makiho was glad to have caught up to him instead of staying silent; hopefully he was being detained in that very moment. Trying to deflate the girl's anger, Makiho gave her a warm smile and extended her hand. "Let me see." She grabbed the bow, turning it around in her hand.

She felt the fabric with her fingers; the material wasn't fancy but definitely of good quality, even she couldn't help but feel a little upset about it. "Ah, talk about ill luck. Now this won't contrast nicely with your hair." Going by her outfit, it was clear that Emi favored the "contrasting and eye-catching" look. Makiho gave the bow back, fixating her eyes on the girl's braid. "I love it, by the way!" The braid was a little undone, no doubt because of the scuffle, but the hair still looked shiny and well-cared for. She felt the urge to touch it, but Makiho herself was iffy about getting her hair touched; that and Haruno was still a stranger.

"My name is Makiho Katei," she said with a little bow, "what's yours?" Still smiling, she put one hand on her hip and gave a deep sigh for effect. "That sleaze ruined our day good, didn't he? Come with me, let's get you a new bow." She pointed with her head down the street, where she'd seen some accesory store signs. "A cuter one."

Emi's own eyes widened at the genuine reaction she received from Makiho. She'd expected some more lecturing, but she certainly didn't mind a little praise. With a sigh, she held up the bow, it's not like she was going to give it to Eun at this point. "Hm?" Emi titled her head at Makiho's comment. "Oh uh, this is for a friend." She paused and her grip tightened on the bow once again. "Was for a friend."

Emi's eyes shot wide once more at the sudden compliment. She looked genuinely surprised to receive a compliment. She looked down at the braid, running a hand along it as a slight smile appeared on her face. "Oh heh, thanks. I can do other stuff too, but this braid is my go to." She could practically do it in her sleep at this rate.

"Emi Haruno." Seemed they were getting friendly now. She was a bit put off by the sheer aggressive friendliness of the girl, not entirely knowing how to respond next. "Might as well." She reigned herself in, not wanting to show how out of her element she was. "I'm probably gonna need some spare clothes anyway." She was NOT gonna wear soda stained clothes to meet a friend. Where there were accessory stores, there would be clothes stores. "You seem to have an eye for this though. It's easy to pick stuff out for me, but less so for friends you know?" Maybe it would be okay for her to rely on Makiho a little here?

Makiho nodded, pleased to see that she had successfully gotten rid of the girl's sour mood. "Well, it looks great." She raised a hand to her own head, combing her bangs a little. "Sometimes I wish I didn't cut mine this short, haha."

She raised her eyebrows: spare clothes? She leaned a bit forward and to the side, only then noticing the stains; the shade of red and the black made them easy to miss. "Oh, yes. Definitely a change of clothes." Her eyes lingered on the girl, taking a look at her chest and waist. "Can you afford clothes right now, though? I could..." She thought of taking Emi to her apartment and lending her something, but for that they needed to go back to the station, and there was the possibility that the cops would be looking for Emi. "Hm, no, nevermind. Come." Well, that's what her card was for. While Makiho wasn't filthy rich anymore, she could definitely buy this girl a top and skirt.

She laughed softly at Emi's apparent predicament; picking clothes was indeed, something she loved doing and was -according to her mother and friends- exceptionally good at. "It's not that hard, specially with clothes, Emi-chan. After all, that's what you see first in someone." She pointed at the window of a shop they were passing through, where a royal blue shirt dress with a belt was displayed. "You're the urban type, am I right? I think you'd like that one," She looked then at Emi, to see if she was right. "Unless you don't like dresses, that is." Her face became focused and she kept talking, though this time was to herself, "Hm, I think with a jacket... or is that too much...?"

Emi smiled despite herself at the compliment, prompting her to raise her hand and cover it. "Well, there's a number of things you can still do with short hair." Emi studied Makiho's hair for a moment. If it was just a liiiittle bit longer though, she could definitely work with it a little easier. She wasn't about to get into it now though...

When Mahiko's eyes suddenly started studying her, Emi unconsciously stood just a bit straighter and lifted her head juuust a bit higher. At least until she realized just what she was doing. She quickly crossed her arms once more and pretended like that hadn't happened. She wasn't about to fish for compliments from a stranger. "I'm not keen on spending a ton of money.
I only get so much a month."
And most of it goes to keeping her brother safe. Scaring people only went so far when she couldn't physically hit them. Money went a bit farther though...

Maybe she should get a part time job.

Emi was snapped out of her thoughts as Mahiko addressed her. She hesitated a moment, as her name was spoken. Emi-chan!? She understood, the girl was older but...No one really called her that. She rose her hand up once more as a small smile appeared on her face.

Calm the fuck down, Emi.

Right, right-oh wait she was talking about her. "Yeah, I guess 'urban' fits." She stared at the dress for a long moment. "Its not that I don't like dresses, I just usually like them not to go too far past the knees." Mainly due to the amount of running and kicks she pulls...er pulled back in the day. Still, it never hurts to be ready to kick ass.

"A jacket?" Emi looked towards Makiho wide eyed, seemingly like she never even considered the idea. "Would that work?" She muttered as she looked back at the dress. The gears in her head slowly started to turn as she tried to match outfits in her head.

She giggled appreciatively at the black-haired girl's reassurance. Aside from the ocassional hairclip and headband, there wasn't much she could do with her bobcut. "I have it like this so I don't spend so much time getting ready in the morning." She fussed with her hair a little more. "Nagashima is not much of a hassle to commune, so I might grow it back. What do you think?"

Ah, but the one in need of counsel wasn't her, but Haruno. She was glad the hot-headed girl didn't object to Makiho buying her the clothes; if it was because she was still a little disoriented, then good, that worked for her! Emi even explained she didn't have much to spend, that meant that the loss of the bow had been particularly painful.

"Hm-hm." So Haruno wanted freedom of movement. Makiho made a mental note, the back of her mind asking if that meant she spent a lot of her time fighting people and running away; that was no good! When asked for confirmation, she looked to the dress and back at Emi. "Yes, it would... but it's not a good idea in summer, I'm afraid." She grimaced a little; sometimes she couldn't help herself disregarding the weather when her mind started working on an outfit. "It would still look great on you without the jacket, though." She kept smiling, watching Emi's movements and letting her lead the pace. She would find a store that catched her eye soon, Makiho hoped.

Emi's eyes practically shone once asked for advice. "Definitely." She said without a moment's hesitation. "You have beautiful hair, and while it looks great framing your face there's a lot of things you can do to have it accentuate your look." She began unabashedly studying Makiho's face and hair. Her hands very nearly twitched out to mess with it, though Emi held herself back. "How does your hair grow out? Does it curl or stay relatively straight? If you're short on time or have trouble styling it, it's best to not fight against it too much."

Oh, wait, they were here to get clothes and a new bow. FOCUS EMI.

She tore herself away from the conversation and looked back to the shops. Her eye trailed on the dress shirt. It wasn't THAT long, and if it became a problem, she could hem it a little no problem. "Maybe I'll try on the dress then. I trust your judgement here Makiho-san." She seemed to know a bit more about clothes than Emi after all. Emi guided her towards the store, grabbed the dress and made a beeline for the dressing room.

As she was getting redressed, Emi couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. Modeling for a stranger was NOT something she expected to do. She took a long look at the mirror. Next she took a step back and kicked her foot out, the dress caught before she fully extended and the girl damn near tumbled out of the dressing room.

From outside, Mahiko would hear a curse as Emi regained her composure inside. After a few beats, Emi stepped out looking six kinds of uncomfortable. She'd definitely have to hem this fucking thing. "H-how do I look?"

Makiho could feel her face flush with flattery, but specially at the sight of Emi's eager interest. Aha! So she was a hair person. "It's a little wavy," she answered but didn't talk further about her hair, letting the conversation focus on the younger girl. She followed into the store.

As Emi was changing, Makiho wasted no time and walked about the store picking a few pieces she thought Emi might like: a sleeveless top in hot pink and another in purple, black cargo shorts, a dark pleated skirt, and two dresses in the same model she was trying on, but in red and bright yellow.

When Emi finally came out, the first thing she'd notice would be a small pile of clothes sitting on a chair next to Makiho. The girl's eyes brightened up as she took a good look at the girl before her, and she showed her approval with two small claps. "You look so pretty, Emi-chan." Makiho stood up and got nearer, eyeing Emi slowly head to toe. She then nodded towards the clothes she had picked, pulling out the red dress. "They had this, if you like it better," she alluded to the fact that Emi was wearing red before, in case she wanted to keep her outfit that color.

"Oh, heh really? T-thanks!" The compliments and the fact that she was, again, called Emi-chan, brought a slight blush to the girl's face. She found herself straightening up again. For a very brief moment, she had an urge to pose in some manner, but people walking in and around the shop made her think better of it. Emi fucking Haruno posing in a dress in a clothes shop. People would think she'd gone soft.

Emi's eyes went from the dress, to the piles of clothes and then finally to Makiho. She was going to be playing dress up today huh? "I ah, like the dress, but it's a little long." She eyed some of the other clothes. Her eyes went right to the purple top and pleated skirt. She liked the cargo shorts as well, but hot pink? Could she even pull something like that off!?

"Actually, do you mind if I try on those?" As she spoke, she skirted around Makiho and snatched the clothes. At this rate is was less of a request and more of, 'I'm trying these on now.'

Just like that she ran back in the dressing room and switched out. Truth be told, she was getting a little excited about this. A sleeveless top and skirt was more her style anyway, though violet was a new twist. Like last time, she took a step back and kicked out. The skirt was short enough that it wouldn't trip her up.

Perfect.

She practically bounded out of the dressing room, though quickly reeled herself back in once she actually saw Makiho. She certainly couldn't let her know she was enjoying this. At least not too much. "This is pretty comfortable, and I think the top would work with the shorts as well." And maaaybe it's cute? Was that the impression she wanted to give though?

...Well she'd see what Makiho thought.

The dress had been turned down, but that didn't bum her; Makiho knew that there was no point in looking good if you didn't feel comfortable and like yourself. Her face illuminated with delight when the girl hurried to grab the clothes on the chair, obviously thrilled with what was going on. Did she mind? Emi didn't even wait for a reply. "Please do," Makiho said with a laugh and watched her go. "Don't forget about your friend," she reminded her.

Makiho jumped up when the girl stepped back out, this time walking in a circle around her. She nodded with a happy "hm-hm" when Emi mentioned the shorts; should she insist that she took both? "Very nice. Purple goes great with black hair," she explained without waiting to see if Emi actually cared for advice. "But with that and those gray eyes, Emi-chan, any color looks good on you." She stepped back and nodded, tilting her head. "I'm a bit jealous!"

She handed Emi two belts she'd grabbed during her second changing, without saying anything. One was graphite gray and the other a very dark, almost black red.

Emi couldn't hide a smile this time as she received even more compliments. She'd definitely have to be careful around Makiho. She didn't want to get a big ego or anything. Like before, a bit of red appeared on her cheeks as Mahiko took her compliments a step further. "Oh, I wouldn't say anything. Thanks though." Emi tilted her head at Makiho's next comment though.

"Never thought I'd hear that. Don't sell yourself short Makiho-san, you'd look stunning in any of these." She realized Makiho hadn't been fishing for a compliment, but well, Emi was going to give her one anyway!

Suddenly.

BELTS.

Naturally Emi went RIGHT for the dark red belt and started slipping it on. Luckily, this didn't require another trip to the dressing room. Still, Makiho's words from earlier still stuck with Emi. "We'll have to start looking for a bow soon." As much as she'd like to try on different outfits with Makiho, she DID have to meet Eun soon.
