Shima Ogawa: IX: Hermit
Persona Shima's current Persona is Cherufe, a humanoid creature made of rock and magma that lives deep within certain volcanoes and is believed to be the sources of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The only way to sate its appetite for destruction is in the form of human sacrifices, usually virginal maidens. Its affinity for fire and its isolated environment fit Shima's traumatic past and her current personality that resulted from it. In a symbolic sense, Shima is the virginal sacrifice: she lost her childhood innocence to the fire that scarred her, and she became bitter and jaded.
A possible Ascended Persona is Amaterasu, the Shinto goddess of the sun. Part of Amaterasu's myth is that out of fury and grief at Susanoo's rampage that killed one of her attendants, she hid inside the Ama-no-Iwato ("heavenly rock cave"), causing the sun to disappear. When she heard the joyful antics of the other gods, she peered out of the cave to see what was happening and was told there was a new god. Ame no Uzume directed her to look in a mirror to see, and Amaterasu was fascinated by her own reflection, having never seen it before. This reflection lured her out of the cave, returning sunlight to the world. This would be an excellent Persona if Shima's character development goes in a positive direction, for the story of Ama-no-Iwato parallels Shima's own self-isolation and her potential to finally accept her situation, lifting the darkness from her own life and allowing her to open up to others again.
Shadow To be determined after I've written her some.
Social Links Shima isn't too interesting in making friends right now. She's afraid of losing anyone else in her life, so she closes herself off from others. It would take someone persistent to get past her outer shell and get a peek at the joyous, energetic girl she once was. A shared interest in martial arts would help but isn't mandatory.
Shima needs to be able to make friends before she can even think about being in a relationship. Either sex is fine since the writer is bisexual and Shima hasn't given much thought to her own sexuality. She'd probably panic and think the whole thing was a joke if anyone ever asked her out.
