On the bottom floor of the shopping center was a small bookstore that kept a surprising number of genres within its small walls. Young Adult Fiction, Non-fiction, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Manga, new and old...they probably had something to cater to everyone's interest. Kazuki often came here after lecture to have a quiet place to browse a selection of books, particularly fantasy novels that catered to his interests. The owners were friendly with him and didn't mind his browsing one bit. He would carefully remove a book from a shelf, glance at the cover, read the back, and just as carefully place the book back onto the shelf in its proper place before moving onto another book to do the same thing. Sometimes he'll skim through the first chapter to see what it's all about before returning it. This was simply meditative to him. He didn't say much, but the calm smile on his face showed he appreciated the time he was able to spend here. As far as he knew not many people came to this humble little store at this time of day, so it was his time to reflect on his lectures and gain a little bit of inspiration for his own writing. He held onto a couple of books that caught his attention. Fuel for the imagination, fuel for his idealistic dreams of heroism. The naivety of it all wasn't lost on him, but he'd rather be naive than miserable. He sat down somewhere, placing his school bag and a long cloth container on the floor next to him. One may recognize as the cloth as something one would carry a bokken in. He adjusted his glasses and began reading a couple of the books he picked out, happy in his own little world. |

Makoto, getting sick of waiting for this supposed "Anonymous User" to show up, he decided to roam Tanjiro until something happens. However, due to his short-term memory loss, he has atrocious sense of direction. Having forgotten where he last turned, Makoto walked into a small book store. "Eh, couldn't hurt to read a bit.." He decided, before seeing a boy carefully inching books off of shelves, approaching him casually as the boy sat down at a nearby table. "The books here that old? They just fall apart if you touch them too hard...?" Makoto asked quietly, then muttering to himself "Hmm...that would sound pretty bad out of context, thinking about it..."

Kazuki at first paid no mind to the person stepping into the store, looking lost. Even when he spoke to him directly, it didn't quite register that he was talking to him. He then glanced up from his book, realizing he was the only other person there right now and stammered a bit "H-huh? What? Oh, no...the books are in excellent condition, I just browse and I don't want to bend the pages or damage the spines..." he said in his usual quiet tone. He seemed totally oblivious to any connotations his next words would have had and simply ignored it. "There are...many good books here. Do you like manga...? They're over there." he said, pointing to the manga section. "If not there's plenty of other genres here and there." he chuckled nervously, before sighing. He wasn't good at this.

"That makes quite a lot of sense to be honest" Makoto said, starting to walk towards the science fiction section, before returning to the table, flipping through some pages of an anthology of the short stories written by H.P. Lovecraft "So what's your name? Sorry if I'm bothering you by the way..." his voice trailing off, as he found the story he needed to find "Ah, here it is..." he mumbled to himself, seemingly reading each line 2 or 3 times. |

Kazuki was engrossed in his book again when Makoto asked for his name. "Kazuki Mori." he said, looking over to what he was reading "Lovecraft? That's something I don't see many people reading...I don't like how powerless the characters feel as it all happens to them. Like...there's nothing they can do." he said, turning a page. If he was going to meet anyone, he was at least glad it was over books, one of the few things he really knew how to talk about. He might as well make the most of this interaction since chances are they wouldn't meet again. |

"Nice to meet you, names Makoto Akamine." He said still, reading, "but yeah...I can agree, though it makes for a good character study." Makoto considered, before thinking aloud "Although, inescapable fates, fear of the unknown...I guess I can relate to them a bit...Life can be like that at times." He trailed off before heading out, placing the book back onto the shelf it belonged to, having finished reading the few stories he'd selected to read, checking the time. "Well, see ya, I gotta be going somewhere." Makoto said, leaving. |
