Name: Io Kazama Gender: Male Age: 19 Class: Rokujima student, majoring in Art Clubs/Occupation: Has avoided clubs altogether, works as a clerk at manga cafe Personality: Nagisa has a tough guy shtick. He's very nonchalant about most things, making snarky comebacks and generally acting aloof. But this is all an act. Underneath, he is a sweet guy. He genuinely cares when he sees people hurt, and hates those who hurt others. He is a pretty big geek; playing tabletop rpgs, drawing his own manga. He hides this side of himself from others due to previous bad outcomes. He doesn't want to be labeled by what he likes, and as such, hides his interests altogether. He does slip up from time to time however, in which case he tries to back pedal or change the subject. He really doesn't like users, or those who look down on others for what they do. He bottles up this anger, lashing out when it gets to be too much. He also secretly envies those who have lots of friends or a significant other, hoping to find something like that for himself. He hates being alone. History: Growing up in an extremely rural town, he was often bored. His parents worked at a small shop to make ends meet. He would spend most of his time outside, running around and all smiles. He would always hang out with his twin brother, and considered him his best friend. The few kids his age were kind, but he quickly saw how they snickered behind his back. He figured out they were only being nice because their parents asked them to. They thought he was just some friendless loser. Disheartened, he became more reclusive, spending more time inside. His parents encouraged him to socialize, but the lack of real connection to people only furthered his seclusion. At Reitaku high school, he ate by himself. His twin was in different classes. He did this until a group of girls asked him if he'd join them. he was curious to why they'd want him there, but didn't really question it. He quietly laughed at their jokes and listened in to their gossip, not really a part of the conversation, but happy to not be alone. The first two years at school were like this. He got comfortable with them, but felt something was off. And upon catching a glimpse of one girl's phone, he figured out what it was. They all had felt sorry for him, sitting alone by himself everyday. They had pitied him. And this actually pissed him off. He wasn't some shy weaselly kid, he just saw all the fake smiles and didn't want to deal with people! He hated how his interests and hobbies were looked at as childish or pointless, and how he was looked at with pity by air headed valley girl stereotypes! So in the later two years of high school, he changed his public image. He gave off this air of a bad boy loner, in contrast to his actual personality that would slip out from time to time. People seemed to notice him now. Some girls even had the hots for him. But he shoved their advances away, almost enjoying turning away the shallow people who approached him. They didn't like him, they were just enamored with who they thought he was. And that just pissed him off more. He graduated without a single friend. Except his twin, who although he had his own friends and circle, was still his closest companion. But while Nagisa went to Rokujima, his twin went to study abroad in America. Nagisa packed his things and found himself going to college without a single soul he could talk to. Why had he turned all those people away?! Now he just does his own thing, very cautious when someone new tries to interact with him. But oh how he wishes his inital pessimistic ideas of who these people are were wrong. He hated being alone. Appearance: A lean but built frame. Pretty pale skin, since he doesn't go out much. Messy brown hair that gets in his eyes and is surprisingly not dyed. Stormy gray eyes that are tired from late night gaming sessions. Wears a constant frown, but his smile melts hearts. Rather handsome actually, though he has been mistaken for a girl before. He didn't like that. Current Weapon/Combat Skill: Whips. A glimpse into his more goofy side, he actually trained himself to use a whip after watching a trilogy of movies where the hero wielded one. Striking cans that he would set up in the backyard, he got a couple noise complaints from the neighbors and has since kept it to a minimum. When fighting Shadows, he lashes out, striking his foes much like a snake does, and the pinpoint damage really stuns enemies. Mask: A jade mosaic piece that covers the eyes and forehead, accented with gold. There are three long feathers, bright and colorful, on either side that sweep back along his head. Resembles a snake in construction, with sculpted fangs and elongated eye holes. Persona: ![]() The Mayan God of Wind Kukulkan, respectfully feared as to have sacrifices made in his name. When summoned, he appears as an intimidating snake with two sets of feathered wings of rainbow colors. His body appears to be made of stone as apposed to actual scales. He speaks with a chilling whispered voice, but still loud and imposing. ~Name: Kukulkan ~Arcana: Sun ~Drain: ~Weak: Gravity, Electric ~Null: ~Reflect: ~Resist: Wind, Water ~Skills: Garu, Pulinpa, Kouha Have you read all the stickies? You bet. Edited by Nechrome, May 1 2017, 01:40 AM.

"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"

A few things to mention: - Actual problem: your Persona's starting weakness/resist/reflect balance would be allowed if it were your "ascension" or "second awakening" Persona, but not your first. Roughly speaking, a resist must be balanced by a single weakness, a "null" by two weaknesses, and a reflect or drain by three. The balance rules are different for "ascended" Personas, and yours coincidentally lines up with those rules perfectly. If this is the weakness/resist/reflect balance you want, you'll have to save it for this character's second Persona later on. For now, you either need to add three weaknesses (not recommended, as that would make your character really frail), drop the Resists and add one weakness, or drop the reflect and keep the weaknesses/resists as-is. - Potential problem: as we do not work with Persona 5's "if you think the guns are real, they are" rules, any BB guns that this character uses would be BB guns. While there is the option of channeling magic into a shot for added oomph, it's unlikely this character would ever be allowed to use a genuine firearm in the context of this setting and it's also unlikely his weapon would be particularly effective against Shadows. You may have to find him an alternate means of fighting, but anything involving firearms needs to be discussed with and approved by the forum staff. Martial arts you can just have at it with, within reason, as long as you're not silly about any supplementing weapons you get for him (you'd probably just want to have him ask Naoya Imoto to make something for him). Otherwise I don't see any real problems with this. Just fix your Persona's balance and be sure that's the angle you want to go with your weapons and we're in business, I'd say. |
