1) I had the resources, I could make a lot of people who irritate me look foolish, and make money in the process
2) There isn't anything to debunk, other than the timeline. I got told that my family wanted me to take over part of the business, so I took over the media arm, sold off unnecessary assets, rebranded, bought new assets, and moved the whole operation. Hiroyuki Yamada is on my couch sleeping off a monstrous hangover. We got to playing Five Finger Fillet, and I got to tell you that guy has no coordination when he's drunk. Also, I need a new coffee table.
3) We still on for later? Also, why do you have an office, again? Who's your land lord, do they manage any other properties?

There will be a casting call, but in case any of you are thick-headed and missed this point, if you get caught doing something persona-related and people ask questions, use one of the following excuses: "I'm testing a practical effect," "I'm a stunt double," "it's part of a viral marketing gimmick," or "It's part of an ARG."
Also, I expect not to get sued over this, because that would require taking it up in the courts, and none of us want that.
A few roles have already been cast, but if any of you are interested, I'll be announcing something in the coming weeks. The creative team still needs to fill in some spots, and Yamada -- the writer, not the police officer -- has some people he really wants to work with and who he owes favors to.

Oh, Asari already got in contact with you? She's a peach. Very enthusiastic about moving into a more dramatic role. You know, she's aging out of the business, and even if she wasn't, the AV game's changing. You know, the internet's just killing their profit margins, and all of these hard working (mostly) young women, men, and indeterminate individuals just get hung out to dry by the production houses. It's really a tragic, exploitative situation, and I hear things are even worse off in the west.
In any case, she's smarter than she looks, and has a whole bunch of great stories. You should ask her about the Mix-up in Okinawa, the 2009 one. The 2011 one is actually just long and rambling and really more of a remix of the earlier story, and I feel like it's a bit contrived.

1+2) I have some thoughts on that, but I'll save them for when we can talk in person.
3) Yeah, we are. And I have an office courtesy of Kirihara Corp., who I've partnered with in my own effort to straighten up the city. It's been in set-up stages for months and I've been taking my time with it (the life lesson learned from previous misadventures being "blunt force doesn't work on a wide scale, stupid"), but we're approaching a point where things can start moving on a public front. Since the Black Hoods also seem to have inconveniently come out of hibernation, I wanted to pick your brain about a few things.
I actually didn't know anything about a "media arm" or company connected to you, which means we might be able to do more together than I thought when I asked. But since you mentioned it, do you also happen to have any say in NgMart?

you guys are cruel, there were tons of good moment sin featherman XG
Like that time the villain of the week was some punk guy who attacked people with a cheese grater and tried to grate people's heads off! so many puns around "great" and "grate", "you GRATELY GRATING ME" and then they ended with a talk about not doing drugs, kids
I know this series can't hope to reach the dramatic heights of that, but i'm still hopeful

From here on in, I'd prefer if we referred to her by her name as it appears on the family registry shall we? I have nothing against Miss Uikyo personally. I had no idea what someone from her line of work would actually be like in person, but so far she's been nothing but pleasant and courteous. I can hardly begrudge her desire to change careers to something with more prestige.
That said, I would have appreciated some forewarning. I did not need to know how many of my coworkers are so enthusiastically familiar with her body of work. I'd have politely declined speaking to her at that time, but the reaction would have been akin to cancelling golden week to a group of high school boys. (Which, her presence seems to have inadvertently regressed a number of otherwise level-headed professionals into.)
I'm afraid I'll have to pass on the anecdote, but in the future please do me the courtesy of a heads up if you plan to involve me in your productions?

I understand why people seem upset, and I agree this is a little inappropriate. But I'm sure Ng is smart enough to not do something that could possibly get us all killed. And besides, this could actually help us if the general public believes that most things are scenes for TV shows.

do we all get characters in the show? If it's like game of thrones then everyone dies right?

@Wub: Yamada says it was supposed to be about how language is arbitrary and the drug thing was tacked on by the network. Then again, we were kind of drunk and I was trying to sell this as a more artistic project. He might have just been trying to match me.
@Yorick: I'm the executive producer. I'm keeping an eye on this because I made it. Did you just read the first post and then comment, or are you skipping out on the conversational aspect of the medium?
@Hearth: That's kind of the idea.
@Plum: I don't know. Do you want some kind of grossly over-the-top-death? We can script something ridiculous for you. My lead writer is trying to produce things that match the outline I gave him, but he also started crying before I got halfway through, so I'm not sure how close a match it will be.

They actually opened that up around here, thinking I'd be the manager, but I politely refused when they surprised me with it. My Grandfather started the company, my uncle is the current president, and he doesn't have any kids, so they're talking about succession, and I have no idea why I'm telling you any of this.
I've got a bit of pull, mostly because I made a copy of the keys when I was manager for a day and the current general manager is scares easily.

Well, there's someone working at NgMart who asked to go home sick, got laughed off by her manager, and then mysteriously poofed during a break. Which seems suspicious until you factor in Persona-user craziness. I'm not sure exactly what happened that day, but if she gets in trouble with management about it, maybe do something to lighten the load? Offer her work with your own branch of the company, maybe. She's someone that I can vouch for, if that's worth anything at all.

But if I had told you beforehand, you would have said no, and I'm reasonably sure that you and Ukiyo-san will get along. Don't you ever want to break out of your comfort zone, or anything? Besides, if we're portraying the Nagashima PD, we want to be portraying the best of the Nagashima PD.

Well, you vouching and 300 yen will get her a cup of coffee. And I guess I can look at a resume. Tell her to send it along.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a tokusatsu auteur vomiting in my garbage disposal and I should probably make sure he doesn't jam it up.

Post by: MisterNgDate: 2014-XX-05 at 10:50 Okay, so because I'm so nice and because people are interested, I thought I'd give you all the first crack at a handful of roles: - Kohaku Okano: crime-fighting tokusatsu otaku.
- Kaoru Suzuki: foul-mouthed, gender-nonconforming artist.
- Nigel Cumberland: White guy.
- Shirou Kuromori: charismatic drug dealer with unpredictable moral compass.
- Mitsuko Fujita: stubborn young woman who just wants a normal life.
Okay, so auditions are tomorrow. I'm currently nailing down a warehouse to use for it. If you're interested, fill out this form prepare a monologue that you think fits the character. These are just the first characters I need to fill up here. The full list of characters is available here. So if you see something you want to try out for, you've got a bit of time to prepare. Please note, you're going to be competing with professionals -- I want to give you all first crack at it, but I want you to know that doesn't mean you're going to get it. We will however need extras and stunt people, as well as the occasional "special effects consultant" so if you're interested in that, mark it on your form. EDIT: don't ignore the physical dimensions section on the form, that's not for my personal use, you degenerates, the costuming people want to have a say in things. Get your minds out of the gutter.
