Name: Mayako Maeshima Gender: Female Age: 30 Occupation/Club: Works at Nagashima City Hall as the manager of the non-elected government workers therein. Also both stays in shape and vents her frustrations by attending the Miyazaki Martial Arts Dojo, having been a member since returning to Nagashima from college. Personality: Mayako is both a controlled person and a pissed off bitch. While she refuses to swear anywhere that isn't private, when she does, it would make her own foul-mouthed grandfather blush with pride. Of course, normally she remains polite and doesn't raise her voice at work (the mask slips when not on the clock), but she isn't afraid to show displeasure and how much she dislikes an idea, whether it be through analogy or otherwise. Yet despite her frustrations regarding her career, family, and social life, she is still able to show enjoyment at venting out said frustrations at the Dojo, and becomes smug enough to trash-talk (at which point someone reprimands her, though she apologizes). She also never grew out of her vice for shoujo manga, and keeps a steady collection at home, ordering new titles and volumes online. Overall, she's clearly someone who's just had trouble dealing with a pretty hefty mistake- and she knows that, trying to work herself into a better person. It's not working though. At all. History: Mayako was born January 22, 1984 in Nagashima. A quarter-Burakumin on her grandfather's side, the Maeshimas had been in the city for a long time (since Nagashima began, if you believed her grandfather). Mayako grew up in her family's home in West Nagashima, having no tumultuous problems throughout her childhood. Come high school however, she showed herself to be the type to take charge, eventually becoming the Class President for the Taiyoutono High School Class of 2002. After high school, Mayako left Nagashima for college. Getting into a college in Sendai, she ultimately took an interest in politics, to the surprise of absolutely nobody but her grandparents. Ultimately, after five years on the east coast, it was time to go home, and she returned to Nagashima. Moving back in with her family, Mayako applied for a low-level entry position working at Nagashima's City Hall. Slowly, she worked the ranks up on her own, proving any doubters wrong and showing herself as an efficient bureaucrat that kept the wheels going- until one day, at age 25, Mayako had become the secretary of a local politician who had directed reconstruction efforts for the earthquake that had hit the city in 2003. He was Shinzo Tamaya, and the two ultimately entered into a relationship. Unlike most such secretary relationships however, Shinzo was not married, and it was merely kept secret due to differences in age potentially causing backlash for the both of them, career-wise and otherwise. After a year, things had been going well, and both Mayako and Shinzo started to believe that they would go public eventually. They did, but it was less of a posting on the bulletin board, and more of someone's dirty laundry being brought out for all to see- specifically, Shinzo's. It turns out that Shinzo had used the relief efforts all those years ago to launder significant amounts of dirty money that stemmed from illegal trading done by the many criminal elements plaguing Nagashima, and continued to do so since by constantly changing where the money was going through, thus preventing him from getting caught. Feeling both betrayed and disgusted, Mayako leaked everything to the press. Shinzo was arrested, and while Mayako saw her career shoot forward to the point that by the present day she had landed into a position of power, her lover and her grandmother both hated her for her actions, and she's never escaped the whispers of how she slept her way to the top. So there Mayako was, as far as she could go until her perception isn't so contradictory; seen as a hero who did the right thing, a secretary who did admittedly sleep with her boss, and a 30 year-old woman still living with her parents (even though by this point, the family home belonged to her officially). Is it little wonder then that with the Persona Users all having some sort of issue for the most part that Philemon would eventually choose to induct her? Appearance: Standing at 169.17 centimeters (5.55 feet), Mayako is both taller than the average lady around her, but still shorter than the average man around her. At work, she compensates with black closed-toe wedged sandals to make herself at equal stature of most men. She also wears at work a brown blouse that leaves as much as possible to the imagination, and a dark gray skirt that while kept pretty low, isn't at the point of having her mistaken for dressing up like a sukeban. Black tights finish up her work apparel. Her hair is styled into a bun in the back with the appearance of a hime cut up front, and she puts on a minimum amount of makeup as appropriate for work. While not at work, Mayako takes on much more casual attire. She tends to wear a darkened orange T-shirt, brown boots, and light gray women's dress pants. Mayako's hair is different at the back as well, being kept in a simple ponytail, though the front hime cut is kept. Speaking of hair, Mayako's hair is equivalent to sand that had been paled in a dark room for years, and then darkened considerably once more (this, to be precise). Her face is relatively pistachio-shaped, but her pallor is average to the usual Nagashima native. Her nose prominently juts without looking ridiculous (only seeming large from certain angles), and her eyes are as black as coal. Combat Skill: Has an intermediate skill level in karate. Practical combat application has been limited to breaking the wrists of unsuspecting gropers on the bus, and the one time she knocked out a drunk waving a broken bottle around. Mask: A Corinthian helmet, having long since suffered from dents and bronze turning green. The mask's picture. Persona: ![]() Didone, by Dosso Dossi. Once, a lady managed to found a city on the North African coast by encircling a hill with oxhide. She became known as Queen Dido, and ruled over Carthage until the gods conspired to force her to fall in love with Aeneas, and then take her lover away. She committed suicide by pyre afterwards, unable to deal with the betrayal. Carthage eventually fell to the Romans, Aeneas's descendents. ~Name: Dido ~Arcana: The Empress ~Drain: Earth ~Weak: Nuclear, Force, Fire ~Null: ~Reflect: ~Resist: ~Skills: Magna, Bewilder, Agi Have you read all the stickies?
