Suki gave Miyuki a questioning look with the very abrupt change in tone as she explained how relationships gave persona users power. Had she experienced one of these disastrous relationships? It was hard to tell. Either way, it was more reason to avoid others. 'It won't be a problem,' Suki responded. 'Trust me.' The next part confused Suki a bit. If Miyuki wasn't a part of the persona community anymore, how was it interfering with time with her boyfriend? There was only one explanation she could think of. 'Is your boyfriend a persona user too?' Her boyfriend had a persona and yet she still walked away? Suki frowned. That didn't sit right with her. 'I don't get it. I assume you care about your boyfriend. So why would you leave the community while he's still in it? Wouldn't you want to protect him?' Her thoughts went back to earlier in the conversation, to her own reason for keeping up with all of this. 'I get that you personally don't have a reason to stay, but what about him? Can't he be your reason?' The questions might seem rude, but Suki didn't really care. She couldn't wrap her head around letting a loved one endanger themselves and doing nothing to help. If Miyuki was really willing to ignore the dangers her boyfriend faced, then this was just further proof to Suki that people couldn't be trusted. Edited by asano_man, Mar 8 2017, 07:16 AM.

Miyuki nodded skeptically at Suki's response, but didn't say anything further. The conversation was turned onto her again, catching Miyuki off guard. "Huh?" She hadn't considered that Suki would latch onto her off-handed comment. "Uh, I mean, yeah..." If she recalled correctly, Treo's persona was actually weird - it could change shapes or something? That, or he had more than one. Honestly, she couldn't really remember how it worked and it also wasn't something that came up in casual conversation. Suki's questions were rather pointed. Miyuki found herself putting her mental guard up - she'd been perfectly comfortable in the conversation beforehand, but details about her personal life were not something she wanted to put out in the open. Still, though, she felt some need to defend herself. "We... have an understanding relationship. He knows why I stay away and I know why he goes back. And in terms of protecting him... I trust him to stay safe." She laughed bitterly. "And if fate wanted him dead, he'd die whether I was there or not." |

Suki stopped in her tracks. Her hand gripped on the strap of her bag until her knuckles were white. Fate?? Was that seriously her reasoning? And she cared about this guy? It was Suki's turn to meet Miyuki's gaze. Although her expression was still neutral, there was clear fire in her eyes. 'If fate wanted Haru dead, I would find a way to kill fate.' Suki held her stare for several seconds. When she realized what she had said, however, she blinked once again and looked away. She hadn't meant to use Haru's name, and what she had said had been pretty childish, besides. Her cheeks colored slightly as she bowed her head. '...Sorry. I didn't mean to be so rude. It's none of my business.' That's right. She didn't have to worry about anyone other than Haru and her mother. It's not like any of this mattered. There was no such thing as fate anyway. |

Miyuki met Suki's gaze and was taken aback by the heat in her eyes. The girl was deadly serious - rather than fear, Miyuki felt a growing sense of respect for the other girl. Whoever Haru was, Tsukiko seemed to be seriously devoted to them. Her statement was pretty childish, though. Miyuki brought a hand up to her mouth and covered a laugh, this one bright rather than bitter. "It's fine, it's fine. I know my answer's not great, and I probably shouldn't have laughed at what you said. You seem so serious." She paused, then asked, "Is this Haru a friend of yours?" |

Suki's blush deepened as Miyuki stifled a laugh. You're the one that brought up fate, you jerk... In any case, it didn't seem like the other girl was offended. Suki wasn't sure if she was relieved or disappointed. The fact that she was asking about Haru favored the latter. Suki sighed. She supposed there wasn't actually much point in being so secretive about Haru at this point. She'd immediately figure it out if she ever met them anyway. Besides, now she knew how serious Suki was about protecting them. If Miyuki turned out to be the bullying kind, she'd think twice about messing with Haru. '...Sibling,' Suki admitted. 'A twin, in fact. They look like me, except shorter hair.... And fewer skirts.' |

"Sibling, huh? That must be nice..." Miyuki looked Suki over once or twice, frowning. "Well, if you want to protect your twin, you're probably gonna have to do some fighting. No two ways about it." She was speaking a touch quieter - it was unlikely anyone was listening in, but she could never be too careful. Plus, there were apparently persona-killing gangs, so all the more reason for caution. "And no offense, but you don't look like someone with a lot of combat experience." Granted, Miyuki was fairly certain she didn't have that look herself, but she probably wasn't wrong about her assumption. "How many times have you been in the ruins?" She asked. |

Suki scowled at Miyuki's assessment but said nothing. Even though she was pretty good with the bow, it was true she didn't have much in the way of fighting experience. It was obvious she needed more training. She already knew that. 'I've only been the once,' She said. She paused for a second, then continued, 'I was with Haru then. We awakened at the same time. They haven't been back either.' |

This girl really liked to scowl. It was like that expression was just her default face. Miyuki tried not to stare and nodded in thought. "Mmm, makes sense. It's not exactly something most teenagers have experience in. You've seen that forum thing, right?" She didn't want to say the name out loud - again, people could be listening. "I'm sure you could find someone willing to help you out there. They do have a training facility - it's just an abandoned factory on the edge of town." She paused. "Lots of, uh... characters there, though." Miyuki stopped to think for a moment, then added, "if you don't find anyone, I'm free to help you. Probably a little rusty, but it should be okay." |

The scowl continued and, in fact, deepened as Miyuki mentioned the training facility. Getting trained by a complete stranger at an abandoned factory at the edge of town? No thank you. Then Miyuki offered to train them herself. Suki arched an eyebrow and, despite herself, allowed the faintest hint of smirk poke out from the corner of her lip. 'Well no offense but... you don't look like someone with a lot of combat experience,' Suki echoed Miyuki's words. Suki didn't want to ask for anyone's help. She only knew three people in the community, present company included, and while none of them seemed like the scumbag type (well, Trent was pushing it), she couldn't bring herself to trust any of them. Of course, if they needed training, they would have to go to somebody... Suki sighed. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. 'I'll keep that in mind,' She said. 'Thank you. Hopefully, though, I'll be able to convince them to forget that place.' She sighed again, then muttered, 'I somehow doubt I will...' |

Miyuki laughed sharply. She didn't seem to have taken offense to Suki mirroring her own comment. "Aha, I suppose you aren't wrong. I guess none of us really look that way, on the surface." She crossed her arms, frowning. "Yeah, it's... it's a tough subject. Don't blame them for not agreeing with you, though. There are good reasons either way. If you end up needing help training, let me know." She paused. "Do you want my number or something?" |
