Suki was half hoping Miyuki would decide not to follow her after all of that, but she persisted. Oh well. It wasn't too much of a walk, and Suki could gain some insight talking to another persona user.

She frowned at the word 'business.' It made it sound like she had chosen to be a part of this, or that she was obligated to help. She was sure that wasn't the implication, but it still made her uncomfortable. She ignored it, answering the question. 'I awakened several weeks ago. I haven't gone back -- don't want to. However, I... have a feeling I'll have strong reason to eventually. So...' She fished her shadow notebook back out and flipped through a couple pages. 'I've been going through the website and gathering as much data about the shadows as possible. I...'

She trailed off and frowned again. She didn't want to say she liked the shadows, because she certainly didnt. 'Fascinated' also wasn't the right word. She mulled over how to word it and spoke when she was satisfied. '...I feel compelled to study them. The person who helped me in the ruins said that I had to memorize their strengths and weaknesses, and that rang true for me. I think it will help.'

She fell silent again. She was specifically avoiding mentioning Haru, figuring there was no reason to and that it was probably safer if she didn't. 'How about you?' She asked. 'How long have you had your 'friend?'

Miyuki nodded her head. "So, still new, huh?" Honestly, she couldn't even remember how long ago she'd awakened. Months? Maybe a year? It felt so long ago at this point.

The next part of Suki's explanation prompted a raised eyebrow. "Compelled?" That was a strange way to put it. Tsukiko seemed to be intrigued by the shadows, somehow. Miyuki wasn't entirely at ease with that idea.

The conversation turned back on her, and Miyuki paused for a moment to consider her answer. "Almost a year now," she said. "It's been a while." She glanced back at Suki. "Why do you think you'll need to go back eventually?"

Suki nodded her head. 'Yes. Compelled.' There wasn't any other way to put it. She didn't want to, but it wasn't a need either. It felt like something that should be done and so she decided to do it.

Suki measured her response very carefully before speaking. '...I know someone who has one of these things as well. I want to make sure they're safe.' She glanced at Miyuki before changing the subject. 'A year, huh? I've had one for less than a month and it feels like a long time. Have you had any trouble from the... you know. That gang.' She shook her head. 'To be honest, if they weren't around, I would just forget this whole situation altogether. But I guess we're all marked now.'

Miyuki smiled gently. "So you're in it to protect someone, huh? Must be nice..." Her expression faded, and she added, "though I think this is really the kind of thing you should be in for yourself."

She narrowed her eyes. "That... gang?" The only gang she knew of was that stuff with Samurakami, and that had ended a while back. "Sorry, I uh... I've actually stepped away from the community. What gang are you talking about?"

'Hm,' was all Suki said in response to Miyuki's first statement. As far as she was concerned, what Miyuki had said was complete nonsense. Why would she protect someone if they weren't important to her? To her, protecting Haru was doing it for herself.

Miyuki's next statement had come as a surprise. The notion was ridiculous, but Suki might have known more about the current situation than this person who had had a persona for a year. So much for gleaning any new information from her.

Oh well. Suki glanced around, making sure no one was anywhere near them, and when she spoke it was barely above a whisper. 'The Black Hoods. An anti-persona gang. I don't know much aside from what they've posted on the website, but apparently they have some way of telling who has one. That, or they somehow found out about a couple of us and attacked them.'

Despite herself, Suki shuddered. 'I don't want to be attacked while I haven't exercised my greatest asset. I suppose that's another reason for me to go back.'

What the fuck, was she serious?

"What the fuck, are you serious?" Miyuki asked, eyebrows narrowed. She caught herself quickly, bringing a hand up to her mouth - she didn't know how old Suki was, but it didn't feel quite proper to be cursing around her. "Er, sorry. But, uh... geez. Wow. That's..." Miyuki had assumed she would be the one giving advice to Suki, but now it looked like she was the one that needed information.

"Are you really in danger? Do they just attack whoever, once they know someone has one?" She needed to talk with Treo about this. Not only was he in more danger than she thought he was, but she was also in danger. Not to mention, her mother, who Miyuki really did not want to get caught in the crossfire of anything.

Suki shook her head. 'I don't know. There's wasn't much information to go on. But I don't like taking chances.'

She looked up at Miyuki for a moment. She didn't feel sorry for worrying the girl -- if anything, she felt like she was helping keep her aware of something dangerous -- but she didn't see the need to freak her out. So she shrugged and said, 'Who knows. Maybe they only attack active users. You might be completely safe staying out of the 'community,' Fusoku-san.'

Miyuki nodded her head. It was unfortunate, but it made sense - it wasn't like an organization like the one Suki was describing would give out information willy-nilly. It didn't make that much sense to know who, exactly, was in danger. Miyuki frowned in response to Suki's musings. "You might be right," she agreed. "but the same applies to you."

The two of them stopped at a crosswalk, and Miyuki took the opportunity to look Suki in the eye. "I don't know about you, but I'm firmly of the opinion that nothing comes good out of going back to that place. If I were you, I'd try and talk to that friend of yours and stay as low as possible."

When Miyuki looked into her eyes, Suki blinked and looked away. She shook her head. 'If reasoning with them would help, we wouldn't be talking right now.' She stared into the distance. 'But... I know them too well. And if they want to go back... Well, I'd rather they have me than go alone.'

When the light turned green, Suki looked both ways before walking. She glanced back at Miyuki. 'But as far as nothing good coming out of that place... on that, we are in complete agreement. Both entrances should be caved in and permanently sealed so that no one can wander in ever again.'

Miyuki followed Suki through the crosswalk, giving her a gentle smile. "This person seems close to you." The smile dropped. "Close relationships can give you power, physical and otherwise, but if they deteriorate, it can lead to disaster. Be careful with that."

She snorted when Suki made her strong opinions about the ruins known. "Oh, wouldn't that be great? Maybe then people would get their lives ruined less often and I could see my boyfriend more than once in a blue moon." Wait, fuck, had she said boyfriend? Whatever, it wasn't like Suki knew about the true nature of her confusing relationship. Miyuki could stretch the truth a little bit and call Treo her boyfriend.

It felt kind of nice to do so, anyway.
