The past couple of weeks had been very strange for Suki. She and Haru had essentially been kidnapped by a magical butterfly and had to fight their way out of a ruined laboratory with the help of their new imaginary friends, Artemis and Apollo.

Then life just went back to normal.

Rather, nothing in Suki's life seemed like it had experienced any change, while Suki herself knew that everything had changed. She had a book assignment for English due Thursday. The manager at work scolded her when she brought the wrong dish to a customer. Her mother came home late at night exhausted, but still smiled when she saw her children.

Not a single person seemed to know about what was actually happening. The world had become surreal by not changing at all. It made the entire fight in the ruins feel like a bad dream. Of course, Suki knew it wasn't a dream. There was a website devoted to people like her. And, of course, there was also Artemis, a constant presence in her head. She knew all of it was real. She also knew she had to prepare to go back.

Suki had no desire to go back. She had no reason to go back. On top of that, it was incredibly dangerous. Suki was under no delusions that, had Aiko and Trent not been there, she and Haru would probably be dead. However, it wasn't up to Suki, not really. It was Haru's decision that mattered. If Haru decided to go back to that place, it didn't matter what Suki wanted. She would follow them. She would keep them safe.

So, Suki had been studying. She had, whenever possible, scoured Bedlam for details on the ruins and shadows. In a notebook, she had been writing down everything that she could learn from the site, including powers, weaknesses, strengths, where they appeared, etc. She searched for the specific shadows she had encountered and, when she found nothing, wrote down everything she could remember about them. She even tried drawing pictures, though she wasn't very good at it.

This very notebook sat in her lap as she sat at the bus stop, heading home from work. Despite her cautious nature, she managed to nod off while sitting, her rhythmic breathing the only indication.

Miyuki turned her phone over in her hand, grumbling something to herself as she walked out of work. Treo still hadn't texted her in a bit, despite her attempts to contact him. Granted, her attempts consisted of doing actual nothing, which was probably the problem. Or was he the problem? She shook her head and sighed. This was all complicated and stupid. Relationships were the worst - but was it even a relationship

The sight of a lone girl sleeping on a bus stop pulled Miyuki back to the present. She stopped, stared, then frowned. This wasn't the worst part of town, not by a long shot, but this still wasn't a great situation. After taking a moment to weigh the detriments of social interaction versus the safety of a complete stranger, Miyuki shrugged her shoulders and walked over to the bench. "Excuse me, miss," she started quietly, catching herself upon seeing the notebook. Unable to help herself, Miyuki's eyes scanned down the exposed page, widening once she grasped what she was looking it.

Shocked, Miyuki stood there, contemplating how to proceed. This girl is new, she thought to herself. Most experienced persona users wouldn't just leave signs of their identity like that laying around. She poked Suki on the shoulder and asked, still quiet, "Miss, are you alright?"

Suki slowly opened her eyes, her shadow notebook slowly coming into focus. On the page was a printed out picture of a Mage Hand taken by one Bard_of_Nagashima, along with the sparse details the user had given about it. When Suki finally realized the situation, she slammed the notebook shut and jumped to her feet, moving several feet away from the girl that had woken her up.

She eyed the girl warily as she clutched the notebook tight to her chest. How could she be so careless? Stupid, stupid, stupid. 'I-I'm an artist,' she said. 'A manga artist.' It was a weak excuse, but a whole lot more believable than the truth.

Miyuki eyed Tsukiko skeptically, nodding her head. Well, that was a lie if she'd ever heard one. "Uhuh," she said, "I see. Well, miss manga artist, just wanted to let you know that the buses aren't running today." She gestured at a piece of paper taped to the bus stop sign, indicating that what she had just said was true.

"That, and it's dangerous for someone to just fall asleep out in the open like that." Miyuki frowned. "You should be more careful."

Suki cautiously looked up at the sign and sure enough there was a note indicating the buses weren't running. How had she not noticed that? That meant she was going to have to walk home.

...Which meant this girl had the potential to follow her. Suki went back to staring at her. She clearly hadn't believed Suki's (admittedly awful) lie. What if she was one of those Black Hood people they were posting about online? Was it safe for her to go home? She didn't want to put Haru and her mother in danger.

Wordlessly, she spun on her heel and began walking away. She knew enough of the town to try and lose her. And if she needed to defend herself... well, she had Artemis to help.

The girl was staring at her now, and Miyuki held her gaze, trying very hard not to look away uncomfortably. Wow, this girl was intense. Miyuki had heard that she had an awful glare herself, but this girl was on a whole - oh, she was leaving.

"Wait," Miyuki called out, starting to follow her. "I'd feel bad leaving you to walk home alone. It's getting kind of late. And, uh..." She glanced back at Suki's bag. "Given what was on your notebook, I... think we have some things in common?" She left the statement ambiguous, in case this was somehow a misunderstanding - didn't want to go and out herself to just a random person, or possibly worse.

As if to affirm Suki's suspicions, the girl started following her. Suki gripped her bag tighter, readying herself to fire off her darkness spell if things got nasty.

When the girl mentioned the notebook and that they might have something in common, Suki stopped in her tracks. She stared at the girl again, obviously suspicious. '...Prove it,' She said. 'Prove that your... that we have something in common.' Suki didn't exactly trust persona users either, but she could at least relax a bit if this girl turned out to be one.

After a moment of hesitation and looking around to make sure the coast was clear, Miyuki summoned her mask. The dilapidated stone materialized on her face, and vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. Miyuki was not actually aware of the Black Hoods - she had been gone too long for that - so she wasn't aware of how bad idea showing her mask to a stranger really was. Not to mention, this girl seemed relatively harmless.

"I'm Miyuki Fusoku," she said, smiling. "Can I ask for your name?"

Suki visibly relaxed as the girl summoned her mask, though she was still obviously guarded. This was probably the strangest feeling she'd had since getting her persona; Miyuki was the first persona user she had met outside of the ruins (that she knew of). On the one hand she felt relieved that the world was, in fact, showing signs of change to coincide with what she knew now. On the other hand, it meant that all of this craziness was definitely true.

'Amachi Tsukiko,' She introduced herself, bowing slightly. 'Thank you for waking me, and apologies for acting so suspicious.' She stood straight again and frowned. 'I shouldn't have been so careless to leave my notebook open. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.'

She turned to continue walking. She still wasn't crazy about the idea of Miyuki walking her home, but at least she wasn't an anti-persona gang member.

Miyuki nodded her head - seemed like Tsukiko got it. She opened her mouth to say something when the other girl turned and started walking away again. Miyuki paused, uncertain - was she supposed to follow her? She had said she would walk Tsukiko home, but the girl hadn't even responded to that. After stopping to think for a moment, Miyuki jogged forward to catch up with Tsukiko.

"So, uh..." she said, slowing down to walk next to her. "How long have you been in the 'business?'"
