Name: Osamu Oshiro
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Class: 1st Year (Aerospace Engineering - Rokujima)

Clubs/Occupation: None

Personality: One thing that defines Osamu would be 'happy-go-lucky'. He's a pretty positive and energetic person, the radiance of his constant cocky smile ever present in every conversation, even in heavier ones. In fact, it could even cause him to be seen as rather foolish and overbearing, something which only increases thanks to his usually loud voice, and his tendency of dragging people around he feels remotely friendly with, such a characteristic that may cause people to avoid him, unless they find his very bright attitude to be charming. In fact, if someone were to call him out on it, he might just tease them and shrug them off, telling them that they need to "relax and have fun", to the point that he might sound a bit condescending, given how he lived his entire life under two figures of authority reigning over every single part of his life. Strangely enough, he puts a lot of serious dedication in subjects that demand his whole attention, such as his studies. In fact, they'd be surprised to see that his performance reports, and see that his grades are considerably high, despite looking like he'd tank even something like basic math, due to his very light hearted personality.

But it isn't because he cheats his exams or homework. Osamu is a pretty smart person, his wits born from his very strict upbringing. It just so happens that more often than not, he doesn't apply his intelligence in anything outside of his college work, giving the impression that he's rather stupid. This change of behavior comes from Osamu believing there are moments in which he needs to put his mind to good use, and moments in which he doesn't have to, and because he's tasting freedom for the first time in many years, he wants to turn his brain off and experience this newfound freedom when he's not in front of a book. As an oddity, while he does enjoy having fun and doing activities that required a lot of energy, one thing he staunchly refuses to do is singing. He has a melodic voice, and once dreamed of becoming a pop singer, but due to his family forcing him to learn that he shouldn't follow such a dream, his mind goes into red alert when the proposition of singing is merely brought up, and tries to avoid doing so, unless he's pressured into it.

History: In the quaint city of Takamatsu, lives a young woman by the name of Setsuko Oshiro. She is a doctor that was proud of her work, but had a rather dull life. And while she didn't exactly mind, until a man came to her life, a stranger by the name of Reginald Mason. His exotic nature and intrepid attitude captivated Setsuko's heart, and before she knew it, they were dating. She was a woman of plans, and was already beginning to image her future life with her, but after spending an intimate night with him, Reginald was nowhere to be seen the day after. Despite her best efforts, she wasn't able to track down the elusive man, and it didn't help the fact that he left her pregnant. The surprising and unexpected turn of events caused Setsuko's brother, Nobu, to help her during the pregnancy. Even if she felt angered over her partner leaving her so abruptly, out of a sense of sentimentality, she couldn't terminate it, or just turn them towards adoption, so the Oshiros decided to keep the baby, and raise them to make sure they wouldn't turn out like the forementioned father, with the first step giving the baby their last name.

Which wasn't exactly hard for the Oshiros, as they were a stricter-than-usual family, with Nobu being a Physicist as prestigious as Setsuko. When Osamu was born, he was raised to be intelligent, rigorous, and definitely not foolish, as he displayed signs of being very extroverted, but also reckless at an early age. This meant that a lot of things of his life were controlled, his habits, his relations, his school performance, and most of all, his manners. They wanted him to excel, and thus made sure he did. Of course, that didn't sit well with Osamu, as this constant treatment made him feel like some sort of prisoner. Inside of him, he felt a spark that wanted to break free, but he wasn't sure how, until he saw a music video of a pop band when he was 6, during a family walk. This display enraptured Osamu, causing him to grow a desire of being a singer, a desire Setsuko and Nobu frowned upon. They told him that being a singer would just cause him to become a deadbeat vagabond, without an ounce of respect or privilege. Osamu resisted the idea, which caused Setsuko and Nobu to press harder at their methods, making sure he erased this desire he had.

For years, their control continued. Every time Osamu stepped out of line, they'd punish him. Every time Osamu did something wrong, they'd compare him to his father, saying how his father was s coward and a disgrace, and that Osamu wasn't going to turn into him under their watch. And no matter what he did to stop them, they'd always be two steps ahead of him, making it harder to rebel against them. Eventually, time would pass, and Setsuko and Nobu would have success in their endeavor. By the time he turned 18, Osamu became a very smart, very responsible, and very respectable person, that'd pour his heart and soul into his studies, and soon enough, his future work. He even disregarded his dream he had of being a singer, arguing how it was just a 'childish dream', exactly what his mother and uncle wanted. However, when he finished high school, his grades were so high, he could go to any college he wanted, which posed the problem of where he should be taken. Setsuko heard from a friend of hers, Natsumi Matsuoka, that she lived in a city that had a university with strong ties to JAXA, and that most students that graduated from there, had a guaranteed job in the space program. Setsuko and Nobu thought the idea was fantastic, as the careers would be challenging, but would also give Osamu a position in which could use the full spectrum of his intelligence. Of course, Osamu accepted, using the same line of thought, and since Setsuko and Nobu trusted him enough to allow him to go to a different city, the agreement was made.

And thus, they gave him a ticket and a briefcase, and told him he'd now live without them, in Nagashima. As he looked out the window during his trip on the train, the reality began to sink in. Osamu was now free, no longer bound by his mother and uncle's contant watch. The only thing they'd be able to do is regularly call him, but outside of that, he was now free to do as he pleased. Of course, he quickly composed himself, and focused on the fact that he was going to live in Nagashima to do his course, and that he must not deviate from it. But that didn't stop him from getting excited over this new reality.

And his smile grew wider.

If you were to look at him, and think that he belongs in some sort of korean pop/boy band, you'd be wrong, and at the same, you'd be right. While not being part of one, Osamu definitely has the profile of one, with his a stylish light brown hairstyle, with it's main feature being one bang absurdly combed to a side. His attire usually consists of a white dress shirt, half unbuttoned and exposing a yellow shirt underneath, black dress pants, and white loafers. On hotter days, he'd leave out the yellow shirt, revealing his well toned chest.

While he is in shape, he's not strong exactly, as he's lean and toned, rather than muscular. His eyes are colored light green, matching his father, and his skin tone, while still having the same coloration as any regular pure japanese, it is slightly darker, making it look like he had a pretty light tan going on. With a height of 5'8", and a constant smile in his face, it wouldn't be surprising if someone were to be captivated with Osamu's pretty boy looks.
