Yes… I’d sell the souls of all humanity to the devil if I thought it’d get us a happy ending.

It had been a bit of a lazy afternoon, and Bart couldn't think of a better way to spend it than to walk around Tanjiro and see what the shops had to offer! To be more accurate, he really could have thought of at least twenty different ways to spend his time, but it had been so long since he spent a good long while among the other people of the shopping center that he felt like it was due a turn once again. Buying the supplies for the party had been such an absolute blast, and he was bound to be able to have at least a fraction of the fun that it had been. Granted he had started that day with Akemi by his side and ended up surrounded by friends new and old afterwards. Still, the day was young! There was bound to be something interesting to do! "I never truly realized just how large Tanjiro really was when you're just wandering around... It's fantastic! There's a shop around the corner for just about any kind of need you could have, it's no wonder this place is always so full of people." Bart chuckled to himself as he walked around the shopping center in a way that most people would have considered aimlessly, but anyone that knew Bart would have known that he was just... being Bart. "Now if I'm remembering correctly, the Panda Cafe is just a little bit around that corner there... I might try and pay them a visit before the day's over just to say hello! Maybe pick up a few pastries for Akemi-chan as well!" Bart's usual smile grew wider as he nodded and turned the opposite direction of his favorite Internet cafe. "Now let's see, hmm... Let's try seeing what they've got to offer over here!" With nothing to go on but a whim and a smile, he set off into parts unknown. In a mall. Which was probably more accurate to say 'Parts unknown unless you look at the helpful signs that point to where you are and label it with a helpful big red dot' |

"... Huh?" Meanwhile, in an undisclosed location of the Mall, an egg walked by. Hideki's own trip to the mall usually involved visiting a rest store where he can rest various movies for him to watch. Such a location was home of past antics, and it made going towards it a complete surprise for Hideki. But this time around, he wasn't surprised by anything he found inside. He was surprised to see, from a distance, the silouette of of Bart Mason. In any other occasion, Hideki would be glad to find a friend, and would ponder going up to them to greet them, but this time around, somethingw as different. Not too long ago, he heard the news of Bart pushing someone into traffic, was it an uncle? Or a cousin? He couldn't recall, all he knew was that Bart was th perpetrator. Such a thought made him very hesitant. Bart was a very nice person, very cheery and kindhearted towards others, it'd be unthinkable for someone like him to commit something like that. Then again, there are a lot of people that'd believe Bart would do something like that. 'He's way too happy, there's no way a person can be like that, he's clearly hiding something' they'd say, and as much as Hideki could understand their ambivalence... ... He still believed that Bart couldn't have done that on purpose. Maybe it was an accident, maybe Bart misjudged his strength, or maybe his gravity powers went haywire for a moment. In fact, what if there was more than one Bart Mason in Nagashima? After all, he knows there's someone called 'Hiroko Tachibana' In Taiyoutono, a name that's so similar, it might as well be the same name. No matter what the reason was, he knew Bart wasn't a monster, and he wasn't gonna let that dissuade him. Huffing in determination, Hideki walked towards the foreigner, as he made his way to parts unknown. "Hey Bart-san!" He said, one of his hand waving, hoping he'd listen to his call. A pair was walking out of Tanjiro's supermarket, a few bags in hand each - Yuki Ishinomori and Sanae Miyamoto. The two had met in that location specifically, during a small confusion in one of the canned goods aisles, and had been on good terms ever since. It was a semi-regular thing for them to meet up and go shopping together, and discuss all sorts of things food and culinary related. That afternoon was one of such events. "Then you need to prick the cake all over with a fork or something of the sort. The juice will all sink in and the sugar will form an absolutely marvelous topping." Yuki kept on explaining a recipe for a lemon drizzle cake with glee, a giant smile placed on his lips - it was like he could taste it. "Ooooh, really? Do you mind if I steal your recipe, Ishinomori-san?" The younger of the two said with a giggle. Yuki nodded at her. "Go right ahead!" Maybe that could help Sanae sell more cakes in the bakery, even. "If you need any more ideas, come to me. I'll do my best. I have a book or two at home of recipes I made up, maybe we should get together sometime and bake them." "I'd love to!" Sanae was a bubble of pure excitement. She was almost glowing from how badly she was looking forward to the whole thing. "Thank you so much, Ishinomori-san! I must admit, I'm envious of your course." He was in a culinary major, right? She was fairly undecided still. If she went to college at all, maybe she should pursue cooking as well? Though she didn't have much of an eye for gourmet like Yuki did. "Well, well, to teach you I only need to be one class ahead, don't I?" Both laughed in unison, although Sanae's diminished as she noticed a boy in her school glaring at Yuki from the corner of her eye. She was used to this - whenever she was alone with a boy, the suitors she shot down (and would in the future, presumably) did little to mask their hatred for the person she was with. It was a bit of a bummer. Yuki noticed her mood souring somewhat, his own expression mirroring hers. "Is there something wrong, Miyamoto-chan?" To this, Sanae shook her head. Just like that. Her smile amped up to eleven, and she moved all her bags to one hand. With her free one, she gripped Yuki's arm and proceeded to lead him elsewhere. "Nothing, nothing!" She responded. "Come on, we still have a lot of places to visit! Don't be a slowpoke!" The boy laughed again and let himself be led wherever it was Sanae wanted. However, the girl stopped in her tracks a few steps ahead. "Eh...? Tachibana-san...?" She saw the boy in the distance. Sanae recognized him from that one time at the river bank. He seemed fairly nice - at least, he wasn't like the other boys, much like Yuki. "Do you know him?" Yuki followed Sanae's gaze, zeroing on the boy. He seemed to have greeted someone as well. "Maybe we should leave him be? He seems a bit busy." He voiced what her friend was thinking, and his response came in the form of a nod. |

Bart was rather engrossed in a display of nail polish that boasted 'BEST AND BRIGHTEST COLORS' as Hideki spotted him. "Hmm, there's a shade here that looks like something Akemi-chan would wear, I wonder how much it'd cost to-Ohoho, that is rather pricey, isn't it!?" The cost for even a tiny bottle of the stuff was a bit out of his price range, and without his job as a courier to help float his wallet it made big purchases like that only a bit harder. "Well, I could save up a little here and there. Maybe sell a few of my things to that nice pawn shop in town-" Hideki's voice broke his concentration however, and he looked over happily to see his friend as he approached him. "Ahh, Tachibana-san! Pleasure to see you again! How's things been?" Bart waved back and beckoned his pal to join him over by the nail polish display. "What brings you to Tanjiro today?" |

And sure enough, Bart managed to hear him. Walking towards him, Hideki noticed that Bart was apparently looking at some... Nail polish? Was he perhaps buying something for Akemi? It wouldn't be surprising, it was either that, or was probably seeking a new identity after news hit of his situation, and was probably starting from small things, like nail polish. Come to think of it, that thought was rather silly. This was definitely for Akime. Definitely. "I've been alright, wanting to relax from school and stuff." He said, offering a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his head. That was true, yes, it just so happens that happens that his idea of relaxation was spending the day inside of his room, instead of actually getting some fresh air. "I was actually going towards a rent shop, planning to get a movie or two. How, er, how about you? Everything alright?" It was a bit hard not to bring up the subject, mostly because of how Hideki was concerned for Bart's wellbeing. After all, whatever happened that day, it must have been pretty taxing. But as he waited for an answer, he looked to a side, and noticed a familiar face in the distance. It looked like that girl Sanae, and she was with someone else? And she was looking at them too? A bit surprised by the encounter, Hideki gave her a small wave, subtle enough to not let Bart believe he wasn't paying attention to him. Now it was a matter of whether she saw it or not. |

Much to Sanae's surprise, not only had Hideki spotted her, but greeted her as well, much liked he had done to Bart. Could that possibly be an invitation? "Well, to be fair." It was almost as if Yuki was reading her mind. "They're just looking at some display. I doubt whatever they're doing is super secret, I'm sure you can at least go greet your friend." The older teen said, trying to make out what sort of display it was from the distance. "You think?" Sanae glanced at Yuki as she waved back at Hideki, letting go of the former's arm, redistributing the weight of the bags afterwards. She could tell he seemed to be interested in the prospect of meeting new people. Why not aid him achieve this goal? "Ah, why not? If we're bothering them, I'm sure there's something we can pick up on and act accordingly." With that, Sanae led the way towards the pair. |

“Ah yes, relaxing is very important after a long day of school! Got to make sure we’re all rested up for the next day after all” Bart said happily. Getting back into a new year of school would certainly be a shock after being away from it for a while, so he could understand why Hideki would want to relax as much as he could. Sadly the two hadn’t had too much time to catch up since the party, but there was no better time than the present! “A rent shop? Huh, I can’t say that I’ve heard of one of those before.” My first thought was that it was some place a person could go to pay rent on something, but if Tachibana-san went there to get some movies it’s… most likely something a bit different! Or maybe Hideki was paying rent on something Bart had no idea about, how was he to know? Although, the young Brit tilted his head inquisitively at Hideki’s next question. “Hmm? Oh I’m doing just fine! Thank you for asking, Tachibana-san! I hope that you’re the same. To be honest I’ve been rather excited since I’ve started my second year at Taiyoutono, so it’s been a good couple of days so far!” Of course Bart wouldn’t bring up his incident himself either. He’d like to do anything within his own power to try and forget that whole thing, but he couldn’t. Because of his own guilt, because of the impending hearing he was going to have to attend, and because of his gang of personal Shadows taunting him about it ever since. He wasn’t about to be allowed to forget it for his foreseeable future. On the other hand, it looked like some people were approaching him and Hideki! That would be a nice distraction from worrying about his case! Granted he didn’t know them either, but the fact that Yuki and Sanae kept looking in their direction as they walked closer to the same nail polish display they were at must have meant something. So he made sure to smile at wave at them anyway. |

"You haven't? It's like, a place where you can rent movies and stuff." He clarified, wondering how could Bart trip himself up over something as mundane as a rent shop. For a moment he briefly feared he was as dense as Noriko about movies, why people treated movies as something rare and alien???? At the very least, Bart stated that he was doing alright, which was, in a way, a relief. It didn't convince Hideki completely, since he knew Bart didn't exactly mention the incident, perhaps it was because he wasn't feeling well talking about it? It wouldn't be surprising, considering it was a sensitive issue, hence why he wasn't gonna press the subject. However, as his eyes shifted towards Sanae and her friend, he noticed that they were actually walking towards them! This was gonna be an interesting experience, considering how cheery Sanae seems to be. She and Bart might becomes friends by just saluting each other. "Ah, hey there Sanae-san! Nice seeing you here." |

The pair had finally arrived. Both bowed to the students, Yuki moreso given his formal upbringing. "Tachibana-san! It's been a while." A week, give or take, but for someone as social as Sanae that was far too long. She then glanced at the man she didn't know. "I'm Sanae Miyamoto. It's nice to meet you!" She introduced herself, grinning from ear to ear. It was always a fantastic thing to meet new people. Yuki, however, didn't know either of the two. His own smile was more subdued, but nevertheless polite. "I'm Yuki Ishinomori. I must agree, it's nice to meet you both." Even if he had been dragged there (literally), he wasn't about to show himself as an unpleasant person to be around. That was far from the truth, after all. "How have you been?" Sanae asked Hideki. Last she heard of him, Asuka was extorting him for doing his homework... She didn't approve of her means that much. |

"Oh, is that so? Well that sounds like an interesting place indeed! Truth be told I suppose I've never had to worry about renting any films, I've sort of just watched whatever was on the telly at the time. The mall just seems to be full of interesting little places one can go to!" Bart said with a bright grin. Probably wouldn't even be too hard to spend one's whole day in the mall from sunup to sundown either! Hmm... Now that might be an idea to bring up with Akemi-chan too! They were soon greeted by the two people that Hideki seemed to have been waving at though, and meeting new people was always a great opportunity! "Hello there! My name is Bartholomew J. Mason, it's an absolute pleasure to meet you Miyamoto-san, Ishinomori-san!" He held out his hand to shake as he was want to do. "So what brings you two out here to the mall this afternoon? You guys seem to be friends of Tachibana-san, and any friend of his is a friend of mine!" |
