Kiku's expression was still a little glum. "Uh, I could call him over, s-sure." She didn't look or sound entirely certain... but if Momo thought that was the best course of action and was offering to help, Kiku didn't want to argue.

She glanced back at her menu, speaking up after another quiet second. "Oh, right, can I just have this three-cheese grilled sandwich?"

Momo laughed. "I didn't mean right now, Aoki-chan. Whenever you're ready, or mentally prepared or whatever." Truthfully, Momo had been intending to speak with Ryuunosuke soon herself, but having Kiku around might help. Ryuunosuke seemed to relax a bit more around her - or not, and it was just Momo's imagination. "Let me know whenever you wanna," Momo said, "I can drag him around whenever we need it. Big sister privileges, y'know."

Then Kiku asked for that sandwich. Nothing came through in Momo's expression but a slight twitch of the nose, and she smiled and said, "Yeah, of course! One second." She went into the back, made a cheese sandwich, and stuffed it in a sandwich press. It didn't even take her a minute. She made a gruff hand motion to one of the younger employees to tell them to take the sandwich out front once it was done and stepped back outside. "Okay," Momo said with a sunny smile, "It'll just be a minute."

There was a pause, then Momo's expression softened a bit. "How have you been holding up, Aoki-chan? I imagine what happened with Ryuu was pretty stressful."

Kiku knew she shouldn't complain - she was already afraid she had made Momo worry for her sake. "I'm alright. Things are fine, really, o-other than being a bit worried about Senpai." Even as she said it, trying her best to keep a smile on, there was a hint of sadness in her grey eyes.

"S-So, uh, how have you been? I mean, I'm sure you've been worried for his sake too."

"That's good, that's good," Momo said, smile brightening. "You're young, you shouldn't spend too much time worrying about others. Everyone's gonna have problems at that age, anyway." Kiku turned the question back on her, and Momo blinked in surprise. "Huh? Me?"

my little brother just went to the hospital after having a panic attack and my old senpai said something about monsters in the city and there was that other thing that mom said and I can't believe aoki-chan ordered that stupid sandwhich also saya lives here and she's married and I'm still single and I'll be a christmas cake in a year and

"I'm doing fiiine," Momo said, waving her off. "Yuyu's a strong kid. He takes after me, after all."

Kiku chuckled a little. "Y-Yeah, strong." You don't know the half of it. "He's, uh, helped me a lot since the move here. He's a good friend."

The only noise coming from Kiku after that was the sound of her drumming fingers.

Momo looked at Kiku inquisitively, pursing her lips thoughtfully and tilting her head. "Yeah," she said; her voice sounded distant, as if she were thinking hard about something. Eventually, she shrugged her shoulders to herself and stepped in the back again, checking on the sandwich. It was done, apparently, and one of the younger workers immediately brought it up to her, already plated.

Returning to the front, Momo placed the plate in front of Kiku. "Here ya' go," she said. "Want anything to drink? This is on the house, by the way." She flashed Kiku a grin.

Oh, good, food. Kiku smiled a little. "Oh, uh, no thank you." Her face turned to worry immediately after. "Oh, n-no, I-I can pay. You don't have to do that." Kiku didn't know a lot about workplace rules, but couldn't Momo get in trouble for that?

Kiku took a silent moment to glance between the sandwich and Momo. It almost looked like she was thinking about asking the older woman something... before deciding against it and chewing on the grilled cheese instead.

Momo shook her head. "Oh no, this is the least I can do. You're watching over Ryuu for me, aren't you?" She gave Kiku a wink. "Just consider this payment." It was clear from her tone that Momo really wasn't going to take no for an answer. Also, it was literally just two pieces of bread and cheese. If anything, the dish was overpriced anyway.

Momo looked up at the front of the restaurant - it didn't look like anyone else had come in to steal her attention away from Kiku. She turned back to the other girl and sighed. "Geez, slow day." Kiku seemed to be thinking about something, so Momo tilted her head and asked, "Hey, something up? You looked at me funny."

She chewed thoughtfully for a moment before swallowing, setting the sandwich back down, and speaking. If there was ever a time to choose her words carefully....

"Uh, well. Makoto-sama, when you asked me to help watch out for Senpai..." She scratched at her temple. "Wh-What prompted it? I know you mentioned he has... problems taking care of himself, b-but... well, w-was there anything in particular that ever made that... noticeable?"

Momo blinked in surprise at the question, and for a moment, she almost looked taken aback. That wasn't what she'd been expecting. She crossed her arms and hummed in thought, "Well..." Honestly, Momo wasn't sure why she had asked Kiku to help her out. Well, she knew literally why, but she didn't know why she'd asked a girl that both she and Ryuunosuke hadn't known for very long. It was kind of messed up, in a way, knowing what Ryuunosuke was going through...

"Ryuu's... he's always been kind of a somber kid," Momo said quietly. "He didn't have a lot of friends growing up, and he didn't like himself a whole lot. Heck, he used to follow me around all the time instead of playing with kids his age, like he was my shadow or something." Her tone was wistful when she said this, and a light smile graced her face. It faded as she continued, saying, "Anyway, right now he's not in the best place. I imagine you've noticed, given what happened in the park..." Momo hesitated; her eyes glanced off to the right and her brow creased. "Before that, uh, nothing happened in particular, but I can't help but worry, y'know?"

Momo's gaze turned back to Kiku. "Aoki-san, you... you don't have to watch over him for me. I know you two are friends, but, I mean... people have their own problems, you know?" She gave her a concerned look. "I don't want you to feel obligated to take on his problems because I asked you to."
