That long, huh? He had no idea. But how could he have? If she didn't say anything. He couldn't have guessed anything unusual had happened to her. But it was when she was getting demanding, and seemed to not think too much of herself, wasn't it? Everything that he'd just blamed on her temprament. "Hey, Suzu. Look at me, eyes up here." He didn't even know where to begin picking at the situation. There was that old wold history legend about Alexander and the knot, right? Well, he didn't have a sword to slice neatly though this issue. He'd have to make due with words. He never had the right one at the right time, either. Seiji took her by the hands and looked into her eyes, he had to try for her sake, if nothing else. "I'm here for you now, and I don't see that changing in the future. But you realize I can't do a thing about what I don't know about, right? Forget those other girls. They aren't the ones I come running back to. But if something's the matter, tell me! Don't hold it in, don't do that to yourself…" |

Suzu felt a warmth covering her dead cold hands - she was trembling out of fear so much because her body temperature had gone down with the sheer horror the situation presented to her. As he spoke, the redhead fought the urge to obey his words, glancing off to the side. It was hard to make out what he was saying due to how loud her own speeding heartbeat thumped away in her ears, but she made the effort - he was worth any effort. Eventually, she forced herself to look at him. Her yellow eyes were brimming with tears that she was holding back. Whatever was taking over hadn't gotten a hold of her fully. She wanted release. "What do ya... What do ya even see in me...?" She muttered as he finished. She wasn't at all fishing for compliments - her self esteem was so low that she couldn't find a singular reason as to why Seiji, or anyone for that matter, would like her in such a manner. Or at all. "All I ever do's provokin' ya... Challengin' ya... Leashin' ya... Then, why...?" Well I don't know, there are big masochists in this world. |

”I love you. Of course. You ask a lot, but I think you're worth it.” It was a quick, and easy and very matter-of-fact answer. The question was a difficult one for Suzu because of her situation. But from Seiji's perspective the answer was simple. Intuitive, even. He couldn't put the day he started feeling that way neatly on a calendar or pin it down to the exact minute and hour he started seeing things that way, but that didn't make it any less sincere. She was in no position to take him seriously. But when it was more than just a word said, proving it could be a complicated, onerous thing. He moved on to pull her close and embrace her tightly. ”Suzu-chan. If I ever demand a thing of you, it's just this: That you love yourself.” She might have laughed at him for that, but who cared? It was her right to laugh. He'd gladly play the fool for her if it meant a little joy and mirth for her because she mattered. If he had to keep hamming that fact in until his hands bled and his arms were broken he would have. Was there really anything more to say there? |

Seiji loved Suzu. Something so simple, yet so alien to the redhead's mind. How could someone love someone like her? How was it possible? But nonetheless, he did. No matter how worthless Suzu deemed herself to be, he did anyway. Before she realized, the tears accumulated in her eyes were silently descending down her skin, pooling down to the tip of her chin and dripping onto Seiji's shoulder as he embraced his girlfriend. 'To love myself, huh...' Despite the ever present self deprecation gnawing at her train of thought, it was an easy concept to grasp - that girl was the one who captured Seiji's attention, after all. Worthless or otherwise. According to the boy, she had captured his heart unlike any other, and had him all for herself despite the competition. How could she not love someone who was able to accomplish such an incredible thing...? "...Love ya too..." Came the muffled response as she pressed her face to Seiji's neck, dampening it with her tears. |

”Yeah, I know. So don't worry.” He smiled and didn't dare let go of her. He didn't say anything after that. He wasn't even sure there was a need to say further. As long as Suzu understood him and he did his best to do the same for her, then they were going to be just fine, weren't they? If she needed to cry, he wasn't going to stop her. He was starting to totally lose track of time. They couldn't have nearly spoken more than a few minutes of words to each other, but moments just stretched out for them together on that bed. There it was, a little shot of anxious energy that peculated to the surface whenever Suzu was near, or when their bodies touched and especially when the two of them were alone. He had no words on hand to describe it. Pleasant? Warm? Electric? None of them really summed it up right. Maybe he'd discover how he fully felt about it if he and Suzu-chan would discuss it one day. Just the two of them, putting aside their fears and when she'd left her self-doubt behind. But that was for another day. For the moment, all he cared about was having her near and knowing she was alright. Nothing else mattered to him. |

Suzu's every nerve felt like it was sinking into Seiji's loving hold as it went on despite her emotions going haywire. That one moment of physical relaxation allowed her mind to drift into a state of deep thought about her current situation. No matter what she said, what she did, right or wrong, selfish or altruistic... Seiji always had the right words to say, despite their minor grievances. Every time, he'd say that he'd love her. He loved her. Just like her parents. Just like her friends. Those people told her they loved her, regardless of what she thought of herself or how self destructive she could get. Regardless of how worthless she saw herself to be. Was it because they were the ones who placed value on her existence? They were the ones who made it worthwhile? They were the reason for her not to quit. You've always had worth, my dear. It's about time you realized that. Suzu was far too drunk in emotion to notice the shift inside her, or notice the new voice in her mind. Instead, she tightened the hold on her boyfriend. "...Thanks..." She muttered, truly and honestly appreciative to him and his care for her. She would do the same back for him. She trusted him. |

She was going to be okay. That alone was worth all the trouble it took them to get there. He wasn't going to spoil the moment prematurely, he needed her near him just as much as the other way around. He closed his eyes and responded with a quiet nod. It didn't matter what else was going on beyond those four walls, all was right in the world, so he was content. She was always beautiful. She didn't think she was, but Seiji was never going agree with her on that point. Perhaps he could have pushed the compromise that she would admit she was cute? That seemed feasible. Much harder for her to argue against that… he just let his mind drift, content that he was freed to do just that with her near and no problems to fret over in their way. That was his mindset when he was idly drifting into and out of one form of perception to another when there was some new information presented to him All spelled out in characters that he just knew the meaning of by instinct: Hathor Arcana: Lovers When he realized what it said, his brows rose momentarily. It wasn't a surprise in of itself, but that it was in particular a Persona tied to his own in stories? That wasn't expected, but in a way, it also made sense. He gingerly kissed her brow.”Hey, guess there's some big changes around here, huh? All for the better.” Maybe they were. Probably. Suzu was the independent type, and that wasn't going to change any time soon, was it? |
