It's been a while, sine he came to Suzu's place with a special purpose in mind. Visit her just to study or watch a movie or just hang out with his girlfriend? Once, twice a week. To talk about heavy stuff no one really should? Its been a long time sine he did that.

Not long enough, by his estimation.

But there he was, in front of her front door again. In one hand he had a cardboard box with handle, brightly colored. It was from some bakery off Matechi that was well known for its cakes. He knocked on the door and tried to think of what was the cover for her as she was on the mend from that fiasco.

She said she wasn't feeling well? Technically true, but not for the reasons listed. At the very least things would remain thoroughly pleasant with Suzu's mother. he wasn't sure how she'd take the line of conversation he'd come to initiate though…

So, without further ado, he knocked on the front door.

After what had happened in the Ruins, Suzu decided to take a few 'days off' so to speak - in other words, she was feeling under the weather so she had been bedridden ever since. She told her mother it was a mean cold, whom promptly believed her and let her rest. She hadn't left her room for anything other than going to the bathroom.

Said mother welcomed Seiji, knowing why he was there and letting him know his girlfriend was resting in her room. She then led him there. Suzu was buried under the covers, not paying too much attention to her scanning abilities at that moment.

Her eyes were fixated on her TV, which was displaying the newest Featherman episode. TV was an old companion and should see her through it all...

Suzu's mother was as pleasant as he remembered her to be. Friendly greetings, a polite thanks, and he followed her after shedding his outside shoes for some slippers. Yeah, he'd done all this before, so that was what he expected.

He knocked on the door and announced himself. "Suzu-chan? How are you feeling? Brought you some cake. It's K/T Extinction Event by Chocolate cake." The girl at the bakery cheerfully explained the name, it was both an escalation of 'death by Chocolate' and due to the fanciful dinosaur and meteor-themed cake art and chocolate shavings.

Speaking truthfully, he'd have loved to see her face to face sooner. But she really could have used the rest and he needed some time to collect his thoughts so…the day of his visit was the one he picked as most appropriate instead.

"...?"

A tuff of red hair with very thick glasses peeked from under the covers at the entrance to her room, spotting Seiji there. Suzu became as crimson as her hair - she didn't have her contacts on and wasn't at all expecting her boyfriend to show up. How humiliating! And she couldn't retreat!

"U-Uh..." Nowhere to hide. Resigning herself to her fate, she sighed out before sitting up on the bed, back against the headboard. "Hey. I'm fine I guess." She shrugged. She wasn't sick at all; instead, she was a bit shaken up in more ways than one. But depression be damned, there was cake to be had!

"Good, gimme." She knew Seiji full well - he was most likely looking to get into some serious conversation. She really wasn't in the mood for such a thing, so if she could derail the whole conversation into her eating a cake, it would be great.

"Heh…" He surrendered the cake and a plastic fork. He did indeed come with the intent to speak on serious subjects. But he knew a bit about Suzu too. Barging in with the lead was not going to work, then he just needed to to try for small ball. Build up for it, step by step.

He sat on the edge of her bed and he watched the TV Screen. "So, you've just been passing the time watching TV? Sorry, I should have came to visit sooner."

He didn't have much of a sweet tooth at the moment. He was just glad to be near her, really.

Once seeing Seiji approach, the bespectacled girl scooted away in her bed right until her left arm was pressed against the wall - this was so to give Seiji ample room to sit right next to her, even under the sheets if he wished. She was never one to care much about the old rule of never wearing street clothes in the bed anyway, being yelled at for it frequently.

She shrugged at his apology, cutting into the side of the cake she had been given with the plastic fork. "Eh, it's whatever, ya know? Not like I warned ya t'come here either, don't beat yerself up 'bout it." With that, she pierced the small portion of food with the fork, motioning it to her boyfriend. "Ya want some?"

So far, so good.

She invited him to sit closer to her with her actions, and he obliged. He didn't go as far as to crawl into the covers with her. That might have given her mother the wrong idea if she decided that she needed Suzu for anything at that very moment.

But it was just fine sitting with his back to the wall, legs stretched out on top of the sheets. "Sure, that sounds great."

He leaned in and partook the offered bite and…wow. It was sweet, very sweet. But it didn't feel overwhelming, good texture and mouth feel and a pleasing and overwhelming flavor and aroma of chocolate. He wasn't sure if it was 'to die for', but it tasted great, and the carved chocolate fossils were cute.

Okay, so. Where to go from there? His endgame was set out, but how was he to get there. "Hey, Suzu-chan?" He glanced to his side. "You want to go someplace fancy when you're out of here? The kind of spot that has a dress code to get in?"

That honestly sounded…like something Suzu would give him a little shit for. But a change of pace and trying out a first together would have been nice.

Said 'wrong idea' seemed to be the furthest thing from Suzu's mind. As Seiji sat on the bed, Suzu instinctively closed the distance so to rest against him, her arm pressing against his as she kept on eating the lovely treat he had purchased for her.

Once given the permission, she fed him the small portion of the cake. "Y'like that? We can share." She suggested, not really feeling like stomaching the whole thing on her own - she had the feeling it would be doing cartwheels fairly soon and having food there wasn't the smartest course of action.

"What? Ya mean like a date or somethin'?" She replied once having taken a small bite of her own. "Eh, I dun'have anythin' fancy t'wear. I'll go if ya don't mind going with someone dressed like a hobo." If she were to say no - fancy places really weren't her kind of thing after all - it would most likely disappoint Seiji.

That would be bad.

"Why? You got somethin' in mind?"

"Mmm."

It was one of those non-speech vocalizations that conveyed an emotion though pitch and tone alone. In this case, Seiji was more than delighted to share it with Suzu. It certainly smelled really good when he bought it, and tasted just as sweetly pleasant. Whomever said 'the way to a man's heart is though his stomach' probably had Seiji in mind. Few things pleased him more than a free meal.

"Yeah, 'Or something.'"
He said, with the same glib, cheerful way he always did around Suzu. When he totally had his guard down and he felt safe to say the first thing on his mind regardless of what that was.

"Nothing special in mind. I'd just like to show my girl a good time."
He was more than happy to accomodate Suzu's cuddly nature, as she snuggled close, it was only natural he slid his arm between her back and sheets until he was hugging her a little closer to him. "So long as we get to be there together, I don't mind. We'll figure out a good place later."

"We'll look into it later, yeah." Suzu nodded. "We gotta eat this first, I ain't doin' any thinkin' on an empty stomach."

And with that, what felt like an awkward silence filled the room - at least, on Suzu's end. She couldn't figure out what to say to fool Seiji into forgetting whatever serious reason he had to see her that day, and that would most likely piss him off anyway. Her gaze was strangely focused on the cake before them, even when she wasn't eating it.

The nervous knot at the pit of her stomach tightened immensely as she could feel the moment of truth approaching. Hopefully it wouldn't be anything too bad...
