Beads of sweat dripped down Ryuunosuke's face, the midday sun lashing his back with whips of light. Every step was a battle, his senses were ablaze, and every muscle in his body was screaming at him to run, to flee, but he couldn't: he was trapped. There was no escape; if he were to even try, she was watching his every move. Gulping, Ryuunosuke pressed on, lurching forward in spite of the massive weights strapped to his arms. Momo was feeling great, though; she was going on a nice, fun shopping trip with her little brother, and he was even carrying all her bags for her! The Makoto siblings were walking down a row of shopping boutiques near Matechi street, Momo carrying just her purse and Ryuunosuke having transformed into a walking mass of bags. It was incredible, really, how many bags he was holding: he actually just could not see anymore, but was blindly following the sounds of his sister's footsteps and assuming he wouldn't get hit by a car at some point. Maybe he would, maybe that'd be okay. "We're almost done, Ryuu~" Momo chirped. When Ryuunosuke gave a low, moaning sound in response, she turned around to give him a thumbs up he couldn't see. "That's the spirit! Come on, one more store. You can wait outside, if you want." And with that, she stepped inside the building they were in front of, leaving Ryuunosuke standing outside. He didn't actually know how to put all the bags down without the entire structure collapsing, so he just stood there, stock-still, outside the store, attempting to figure out what to do. A few passerbys stopped to look at him, but then moved on, whispering and laughing among themselves. Edited by Supnitle, Sep 15 2016, 02:20 PM.

"This freaking rooocks~" Aiko sang merrily to herself as she walked out of one of the city's jewelry stores. The stones she had grabbed from those weird rock birds actually fetched for a good amount of yen, but she also had to play it pretty safe. Just one or two of them sold at a time as some 'precious stones' a dead relative left behind. Still, this gave her a bit more money to get some sweet new merch with, though! Or I could probably try and get something to fight with that isn't just a broom too... Pfft, where am I going to pick up something like that though? She supposed there were those shops that advertised on Bedlam, but they were a good distance away from where she was now, or at least they were if she remembered the directions. It could probably wait until later, though. She still had a couple of shiny stones to sell. "Alright, let's see... I think The Horror Store is just about a five minute walk away from here, maybe I can just swing by and see if they've got anything new... Haven't got a text from Yuko about it though, but that's probably because she's trying to hog the best merch for herself. I mean, that's what I would do." Her mind made up, the short-haired girl started making her way downtown walking fast. Faces of the people on the street passed and she was- Hahaha, what? That poor dude... Up ahead she saw some guy carrying a mountain of bags (probably for his girlfriend or something) in front of a store, and boy did he look miserable. So much so that Aiko just couldn't help herself as she approached Ryuunosuke. "Hey man, you need some help with those or something?" |

Neither the chef nor the short-haired girl were the only people bound to meet that were spending money on Matechi Street that day, though their interests that day were certainly more frivolous than those of the man bound to appear in a few seconds. One Ryouta Murakami eyed the stores on both sides of the street, doubtful of what he should do. He'd brought some cash on himself because he intended to buy something, but he didn't really know where to go. He'd already had lunch so a restaurant was out of the question, he didn't find anything interesting... maybe the trip had been a failure? He let out a sigh and straightened his sweater. Seemingly, it had. Right as he was ready to turn around and leave, however, he spotted a hulking mass in the distance. Something unnatural that should not be there... Are... are Shadows leaving the Ruins!? When he walked towards the source, he realized that it wasn't actually a Shadow, but someone with a mountain of shopping bags on his arms. Still horrifying, but not for the same reasons. Maybe the trip could be worth it. "Ah, l-let me help, sir!" Always one to help others, Ryouta gently placed his hands under the mountain of bags to help distribute the weight and eventually place them on the floor. All along, he didn't even notice the presence of Aiko. He didn't realize who he was helping either. Helpful, but clueless. |

A voice broke through the wall of bags, muffled and unclear, but there. It sounded like they were offering help, and Ryuunosuke would have nodded in agreement if he could. "Y-yes! That - that would help." Almost immediately, an enormous amount of the bags were lifted up and placed on the floor. Sighing audibly in relief, Ryuunosuke allowed himself to place the rest of the bags gently on the floor with his newfound mobility. He looked in front of himself, at Aiko, and smiled. "Th-thank you so much, I was... huh?" Wait, she wasn't holding any bags, and wasn't looking noticeably strained. Had she even helped him. Ryuunosuke blinked, then looked to the side and started slightly when he noticed Ryouta Murakami standing there. "A-ah! Murakami-sensei!" He put his arms down, leaning against the front wall of the store. "I, er, didn't see you there. Did..." He looked between Aiko and Ryouta. "Did you help me, or did...?" |

"Alright, alright. Give me a sec here, I'll try to take some off of your ha-" Well, it went way better than she expected, because several of the bags seemed to lift up by themselves just by her thinking about it. ...Okay did I just find out telekinesis? Or am I like Carrie now, because that doesn't end well for anything or anybody if that's what's happening here... Luckily for everyone involved, they weren't living in a Stephen King novel, and in fact the reason for the levitating bags was just the really big huge man that she didn't see show up helping the poor whipped guy. "Oh uh... Can't take the credit for that one, honestly. This guy showed up and kinda took most of the weight off of your shoulders." Aiko shrugged. That didn't exactly work out the way she planned but... she guessed it was a start? Eh, either way, Aiko felt like she had to contribute in even a tiny bit, so she still reached over and grabbed a single bag from Ryuunosuke's pile and held it herself. ...Wait, I know those muscles! "Ryouta-sensei, yo!" she said as she gave the large teacher a wave with her free hand. "Long time no see! Glad you were able to be here to help me out a bit." She chuckled slightly as she looked back over at Ryuunosuke to try and figure out what she was supposed to do now. "So uh, you got yourself into a something a bit more than you can handle here, pal? Or did you get a credit card that you just really needed to max out today?" Whoever this poor soul was, it seemed like Ryouta knew them though! So... probably not a bad person. Right? |

It took the large man a few seconds to process what was happening, but it just seemed to be a case of misguided gratefulness. "Oh, it's you, Ryuunosuke-san! Hello!" Not like he minded an awful lot, if he was to be honest - just having helped was reward in and on itself, and the big smile on his face reflected that. "I sure am the one that helped you!" Who exactly was Ryuu thanking, though? Was there another person there? Turning around, the short-haired girl came into view. Ryouta recoiled slightly. "A-aah, I... did not see you there, Aiko-san... Hello to you too!" That was a surprise. A nice one, yet a surprise nonetheless. With that done, he dusted his hands. "Well, are you out doing a bit of shopping, Ryuunosuke-san? A... lot of shopping, actually...?" |

Ryuunosuke looked between the girl and Ryouta again. Apparently, Ryouta had helped him? But, that girl had offered to, so... he was still grateful? He eventually settled on bowing his head and saying, "Thank you both for the help." They questioned what he was actually doing, and Ryuunosuke's shoulders slumped again, and he scratched the back of his head. "Well... I'm actually out with my sister, and she wanted to go shopping, so..." He glanced over at Aiko - she seemed to know Ryouta. A fellow student? "Um, are you one of Murakami-sensei's students too?" |

“Hey, don’t mention it. I just felt like doing my good deed for the day. I mean, it looks like I wasn’t the only one that wanted to try that though, so I guess you really lucked out huh?” Aiko quipped as she held her lone contribution easily in one hand. This ‘Ryuunosuke-san’ seemed pretty familiar with ol’ Ryouta, so clearly they were probably friends of some kind. Even if she didn’t exact have the closest of bonds with the big muscle teacher, she at least knew he was a good dude. So… Ryuunosuke was probably a pretty good dude too. At least until she was proven wrong, of course. “Hehe, no surprise you didn’t see me Ryouta-san! Your friend here has a crazy amount of bags right now, I’m not even sure the poor guy could see where he was going. …Oh duh, sorry, never got around to introducing myself either.” She bowed her head slightly towards Ryuunosuke. “The name’s Aiko Wakabayashi, and haha, no I’m not a student of Ryouta-san here. Not that there’s anything wrong with him of course, but I’m a free woman freshly graduated out of school and everything.” She chuckled slightly and shook her head, allowing herself to bask in her increased amount of free time. More work time meant more money, which meant more horror memorabilia, which meant a Happy Aiko. For the most part. She also finally had herself an answer for Ryuu’s enormous haul too, albeit one that she couldn’t help but chuckle at when she heard it. “Ahhh, I get it. Time to be the sis’ pack mule, huh? Well, guess no-one can say that you’re not a helpful guy huh? Although now I think I have to meet this girl if she can get family wrangled into hauling this much stuff around, geez…” Okay, so either this is just the nicest dude ever wanting to help his family, or she’s got some dirt or something on him, because… damn this is a lot. |

They had both contributed, and they were both objects of Ryuunosuke's gratefulness. Ryouta set his rather large contribution on the ground as he listened to the conversation unfold between the two. "Nope! She's graduated from--oh, she already said that... haha." Well, that was awkward. He scratched the back of his head as he listened to the reason for the insane amount of bags Ryuunosuke was previously carrying. He knew Ryuu's sister, didn't he? He tried to remember but nothing quite came to mind... "Well, that's... not really an experience I can say I relate to, since I only have an older brother, and, well, out of the two I'm the one that buys the most things... so yeah." He looked around. "Is your sister in this store?" |

The girl's name was Aiko, and she apparently wasn't one of Ryouta's students. Which... made sense, given that Ryuunosuke hadn't really ever seen her in school. Granted, he was pretty bad at learning faces, so that might not mean anything regardless. He glanced back inside the store, nodding his head. "Yeah. Momo's just shopping right now, she let me stand outside and... uh. Rest. I guess." He scratched his head. "I dunno, she just asked me this morning to go shopping with her, and I didn't really want to say no." He looked up at the other two and asked, "What're you two doing in Matechi?" Momo, for her part, was still inside the store. She glanced out the window and then immediately took a step to the side, moving behind a rack of clothes to stay out of site. That - that was Ryuunosuke talking to people. Was he making friends?! Oh, she couldn't interrupt this. She'd already purchased her things, but she stood awkwardly in the store, hiding and letting events unfold naturally. |
