Joe was really getting sick of these looks, but figured it would a bad idea to start another fight over something stupid. Instead he ignored it and swallowed the bite to answer Momo's question.

'Trippin said you went to a cooking school in Tokyo. I remembered there was a really famous one there called the SomethingSomething Bleu. Don't know if you went there since it's probably exspensive as shit, but hey.' He shrugged. 'It was either that or Gordon Ramsay. Figured you wouldn't like being called a guy's name, though.'

Momo snorted. "Please. Calling me Gordon Ramsay would basically be a compliment. That man is a god." She frowned, thinking for a moment - what was Joe supposed to call her? She certainly didn't want him to call her Momo, or Gordon Ramsay, despite what she had just said, but Bleu? Really? "And just because I went to Le Cordon Bleu does not mean you can call me that," Momo said, frowning. "Just call me Makoto-san, or something."

As she spoke, she pulled an array of ingredients over from one half of the counter to the other, so she could work on Kiku's burger as she spoke to the group. If they were going to have secret chats about... whatever it was, she wanted in. She began to form the meat into a patty with her hands, working quickly.

"By the way," she asked, "You kids know where Ryuunosuke is?"

Masako shrugged, still filled with burger. She was no longer contributing much to the conversation.

Joe's head shot up from his burger. 'Wait you actually went to that place?! Are all of my friends rich?! Mouse, how loaded is your family??' He stared wide eyed into space, as if calculating. 'Why the hell am I paying rent on a shitty apartment? One of you, hire me as your live-in butler so I can stop living in a glorified closet!' Any talk of what to call Momo had gone completely ignored.

And suddenly, they were back in 'can't talk about' territory. And this subject would probably be the touches of them all. Oh, Trippin? Yeah, he went up to the mountains into an underground abandoned lab filled with horrible monsters so he can use his super-powered super ego to fight a being so powerful she can probably kill him with a thought. So, you know, typical Thursday.

Instead of using that conversation starter, Joe averted his eyes and took another bite of his burger. '...the gym.'

Kiku just blinked at Joe as he prattled on, not entirely certain how to respond to that. By the time she considered even commenting on Joe's wealth questions, he'd answered Momo's question on Ryuunosuke. Kiku had to think for a moment - she actually wasn't sure where he was either. Had she seen him at school today? She couldn't remember.

"I-I haven't seen him, Makoto-sama," she said to Momo.

"You would have to wear the monkey costume if I hired you as a butler," Masako said, completely deadpan. She didn't even turn to look at Joe as she said this, just staring blankly down at her plate, as if deep in thought before taking another bite of her burger and taking herself out of the conversation again.

In the meantime, Momo's eyes narrowed. "Ok, no. I can handle the suspicious answers for other stuff, but I need to know if there's actually anything weird going on with my little brother." As she said this, a cautious-looking waitress walked over and handed her an order slip. Momo glanced at her, offered a quick smile, and snatched it out of her hand. After reading over the order for a split second, she stuck it in a pile in front of her, grabbed a knife and began breaking down a pile of ingredients very quickly.

She glanced up, keeping her knife hand moving. "Seriously, is something up?"

Joe scoffed at Masako's demands. 'If that's all your askin, then when can I move in?'

Apparently, Momo was staying on the offensive. It didn't matter. He had to keep lying, no matter what. He decided to double down. 'W-what?? That's where he is! I-I'da gone too, but they don't let people with tattoos in!' He crossed his arms. 'Call him! Ask him yourself!'

In retrospect, that last bit was not needed. Hopefully, Ryuu's phone was on vibrate while he was getting slaughtered by Ms. Yellow.

"Nevuh," Masako replied, her mouth completely filled with burger. This was tasty. There seemed to be some kind of tense conversation going on around her about someone she didn't know. Masako resolved to stay out of it.

Momo stared, practically glaring, at Joe for a full, silent, twelve seconds before shaking her head, going back to her work. "I'll text him on my next break. I'm working right now." With that, she moved her supplies to the other side of the counter. Immediately, her tense expression shifted back into a smiling face as she struck up a conversation with a different customer.

Joe found himself in a staring contest with Momo. For a tense two rounds his stare didn't waver, though his throat was dry and beads of sweat started to form on his brow. Suddenly, she resolved to text him later and left to talk to some other customers. Joe relaxed so quickly he almost face planted into his burger. That had been physically draining. Why was he lying so much lately??? Why couldn't the world contrive a reason for him to rock his way through problems???

He shot a look at the other two. 'Hey thanks a lot for the help, you two. Completely ignoring the conversation really gave me the support I needed.' He sighed and returned to his burger. Before he dug in, he whipped his phone out under the table and sent Ryuu a quick 'ur @ gym' text. With that, he grabbed his burger and started devouring. At least that was good.

Kiku flinched a little when Joe snapped, quietly muttering an apology without looking his way. Now she felt bad about that on top of Momo's suspicions.

There was no point worrying about it for now, she supposed, but it was still bothering her. What should she tell Ryuu? Would Momo start interrogating him soon? She'd have to say something to him soon.

Kiku was mostly quiet for the rest of the stay there, eating in mildly-guilty silence.
